Easy to book in the car, pleasant guy in reception. Quick and easy rego check.

The booking process was good, and the job was completed on time.

However, after picking my car up, one of the wheel centre caps fell out as I was pulling out of the service centre. After collecting the cap from the road, I noted the cap had been damaged (3/5 tangs broken clean off, clear pry bar marks around the edges) during the tyre fitment process.

When I went back inside to report the damage, the team were very quick to organise a new centre cap, no questions asked.

Whilst I appreciate the staff organising the replacement, the fact no questions were asked was a clear sign that they knew the cap had been damaged, and had been trying their luck - hoping I wouldn’t notice and they would get away without having to give me a replacement.

This behaviour is disappointing. I understand centre caps can be broken during tyre changes, however I would expect the person who broke the cap to report the damage and/or organise a replacement without me having to find it. Trying to hide the evidence by putting it back on is really poor form - it was never going to last. And it was very clearly broken.

Despite the convenient location, I will not my using Queanbeyan Kmart mycar Tyre and Auto again - it is exactly this kind of dodgy and dishonest behaviour that gives mechanics everywhere a bad name. I do all my own work normally, so I know what’s going on and don’t pay good money to be treated like an idiot.

Unfortunately, I like many others are a bit snookered when it comes to car tyres - unlike motorbike tyres, it can be difficult to fit and balance these properly at home. But I will most certainly be finding a different shop to perform the job next time.

Just a simple pink slip

I booked in through call centre to have tyre slow leak fixed. I arrived on time and was told that staff were at lunch, that I would need to wait an extra hour. I explained that I had excused myself from work for an hour based on the advice they game me when I made the booking and I didn’t have that sort of time. I asked why I wasn’t told that my booking was at a bad time. When I tried to get a better understanding of the additional time I was being asked to wait, they guy got belligerent saying he wasn’t calling staff back from lunch, even though I made no such suggestion. I felt forced into a situation where I had to say that I was taking my business elsewhere, and I received no apology for their bad booking or any acknowledgement that their booking system was at fault. Overall super rude guy, barely disguised contempt and dismissive attitude. Given how they treated me, I would never have them work on my car, I’m sure their work would be as unprofessional as their customer relations.

Staff always make you feel welcome and always offer and supply excellent service.

Easy to book, good communication, good care

Was quoted over the phone $200 to $300 for a standard logbook service and on the day charged $430 for an oil change and air filter. The guy tried to over-charge me for tires that were apparently bald after one month of driving a brand new car.

Friendly, professional, knowledgeable and prompt service.
