Deposit delay 5 months on
I'm really sorry to have to write this. 5 months since returning my hired saxophone, my deposit has still not been returned. I have had a thread of emails with Robert, with him saying he'd been unwell and on paternity leave, so I gave him the benefit of the doubt and have been patient. The initial experience of hiring the saxophone with Music Corner was positive. Robert was very helpful and sent the saxophone promptly. I had to return it after just a few months because I lost my job and couldn't afford to keep it on. Robert sent me a DPD label to return the saxophone and it was explained that £10 to cover this cost would come out of the deposit. I am yet to see the remainder of the deposit, despite Robert asking for my bank details in order to process, which I provided. With being out of work, every penny counts for me right now. Regardless of this, it's just not good practice for customers to have to chase for a deposit to be returned and still be waiting 5 months on.

Update: I’ve now received my deposit refund after some delays. While the communication could have been better, the issue has been resolved in the end.
I hired a beginner’s saxophone from Music Corner in February 2025, including insurance cover. I returned it in early July via DPD, and Music Corner confirmed receipt, cancelled my direct debit, and said my deposit would be refunded within two weeks.
After three weeks, no refund appeared, so I emailed and received an apology from Robert Driver, who said the transfer would be made that day. Unfortunately, I’ve still not received the refund, and my subsequent emails (three so far) have gone unanswered. Calls to the shop also go unanswered.
It’s disappointing because the hiring process itself and the instrument were good, and Robert was initially helpful. I just want the agreed refund returned as soon as possible. I’ll be happy to update this review once it’s resolved.
A Xmas gift turns out to be a nightmare
I put through an oder on Dec 2024, it was meant to be a surprise for my partner to continue with his Saxophone journey. However, after waiting over 3 weeks, I still didn't get what I ordered. So I requested for a refund. Despite being informed that the refund had been issued, I didn't receive any refund in my bank account. I've been chasing the refund from Jan to May, Over the past 5 months, I've contacted Robert many times via email, never got any response. I called him a few times as well, he sounds polite over the phone, however, on each occasion, I was assured the refund would be processed the same/next day, yet no action has followed. I'm getting really confused and disappointed here, and would love to have a closure on this matter.

I hired a saxophone from Music Corner for my son in April 2022. Overall, I was pleased with the service provided, and Rob was exceptionally kind and helpful throughout the process. However, my experience soured when it came to the return of my deposit. Despite the contract being completed, I did not receive my deposit back.
The last time I talked with Rob was in March 2024, and he promised to return my deposit by that week. But after multiple attempts to contact Rob via WhatsApp and calls again, I received no response. I still haven't received my refund at the moment!
Although Music Corner provides great service, the delay in refund processing and lack of communication post-contract completion are areas that need improvement. I hope they prioritize shorter processing times for refunds and enhance their customer service for better post-sale support. Thank you.
