Recently bought my Audi off them and from start to finish everything was fantastic. Bought a car from these few months back and very shortly another caught my eye. Dylan made it such an easy task changing my car and got me driving away in the new one within days.
5* buying experience with genuine people
Neil and Mike couldn't have been more helpful in the purchase of my VW Toureg. They went above and beyond to source the right car for me. They kept me informed every step of the way and would definitely recommend anyone looking for a quality used car to use Motoplex, York. The car was absolutely immaculate and exactly as described.
Mercedes GLC
I wanted a Mercedes GLC the particular model is quite rare now.
These guys had one, I had seen several.
I'm not into buying online so I went to view and test drive.
Neil met me as I walked in gave me the keys and told me to go and drive it, all on my own no pressure, gave plenty time to look over the car, what can I say car was perfect.
I negotiated the price with the guy' none of the sharp intake of breath, they listened and we found an acceptable deal, car was delivered on the same day.

Stay well clear
Stay well clear. Car sold to me was not as advertised. Car delivered on the dark and when viewed the next morning there were marks or dents on nearly every panel and lots of scratches in interior. Vehicle wasn’t even cleaned properly. After pointing all of this out to Motoplex and asking to return the car they denied it as I had signed their waver contract. After 4 weeks of letter from my solicitor and threatening them with court action they finally took the vehicle back.
Stay Clear of Motoplex
I have waited a while to write this. I had an awful experience with this company. I wanted to exchange my car & they offered me a reasonable price (not the best I had been offered) but I liked a car they were selling so went with them. The communication through the week was perfect & very friendly.
It came to the day of delivery. Where it all went wrong!
Clearly the driver bringing the car & taking ours back is primed to inspect it & find anything possible for them to not offer the price they had agreed.
Not to mention the car we were meant to drive was not in the condition they had advertised. Dent on drivers door, back passenger window previously been smashed in as we could see broken glass still in the door where the window winds down in to. Scratches all over the back front seats, gear stick looked like it had melted & side of passenger seat scuffed!
The reasons they gave to try & knock money of ours were ALL our tires were bald, clutch about to go & scratches that would not buff out! Ours is a 2018 car versus their 2012. The delivery guy said he would at least have wanted £1k knocked off ours. I refused point blank & told them to take their car back & we kept ours. They firstly refused to give me a refund saying it would take a minimum of 1 hour to set up on their banking system, told me I was rude, overreacting & had lied to them. He even hung up on me!
Eventually with me threatening not to give them the keys back to their car & having the keys to my own car in my position until they returned our £500 deposit & £150 delivery cost back. Funnily enough it didnt then take an hour to set up & I got the money back in my bank in a few minutes.
Now, I have waited this long to write this as I wanted my local garage to look at my car due to the accusations they made, especially the clutch as it worried me sick!
Needless to say, it passed the MOT (no surprises there), nothing wrong with the clutch, 2 front tires are worn but did not fail (although we have replaced these anyway now) 2 back tires perfectly fine. As for the scuffs we have had a bodywork specialist look at these, one can be buffed out & the front bumper which we were told would need replacing can be sprayed which we have since booked in to do!
They say everything happens for a reason, well I believe we dodged a bullet with these people.
I would not recommend them or trust them to anyone. Adam was rude, ubrupt & sarcastic not to mention patronising. He needs a course on how to deal with Customers for sure, or maybe he just wasnt expecting a strong woman who wasnt going to be taken for a mug!

Worst online car I have purchased having bought 4 previously
Bought a BMW140i from Adam on the 15th of Jan 21 and it was the 5th car I had bought online. All previous cars were delivered and were as expected with no hidden issues. I was told the car had been valeted that morning by Tom the delivery driver. Due to weather the car turned at my home at 21:15 in the dark and wet and taking Adams word the car was unmarked and in excellent condition had a quick look around it for obvious damage before handing over my keys to my Merc as p/x which by the way was spotless inside and out and as I had described it honestly. What I found the next days can only be described as unbelievable. Not only was the exterior not as described ie. (3 small dents and damaged alloys) the interior was absolutely filthy with scuffs everywhere on the hard plastics and damage to the seats having had child seats fitted by the previous owner and damage to the carpet hidden under a floor matt. I should have immediately asked to hand it back and regret to this day not doing that but having paid £380 to get it delivered I would probably have had to pay the same again plus might have had an issue getting my deposit back. Speaking with Adam on the phone he made every excuse in the book trying to blame me for wanting it asap and it had not been valeted due to these places being shut due to covid. So why did Tom say it had. Basically he should never have sold me the car in the condition it was in if indeed Adam is not as honest as he makes out to be and trying to get my own car back would have probably been be an uphill struggle having asked a few times to return it being so far away. Their web site says all cars are valeted and a 63 check list conducted mine obviously never got anything. To get it the standard my p/x was in took me around 22 hours having to remove all the seats to hoover up dog hairs, shampoo the carpets and repair the hole, as well as pick up half eaten sweets and biscuits. Under the back seat and the boot were disgusting with a collection of rubbish normally found in a bin. The boot had to be completely stripped out to clean up some sort of animal feed and under the bonnet was in a worse state than a 10 yr old work van. Therefore I would never recommend buying a car from Adam at Motoplex over the phone without actually seeing it as you could be next. One of my last call with Adam obviously forgetting previous calls he actually said that he had valeted the car that morning before Tom took it away. I replied saying if you are telling me you valeted the car I received you really need to go to Specsavers and forget about preparing cars for sale in future.
