DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY! They fraudulently make out they in Australia (kangaroo and all)but they are based in China. Their goods are cheap and of extremely poor quality. They advertise good service and easy returns, but the opposite is the case. They repeatedly send emails with contradictory comments stating they have processed refunds when they have not. Apparently this is a common ploy by scammers. I have received more than 45 emails and multiple phone calls to consistently fob me off. I have a rule that I only leave feedback that is positive or not at all but in this case I am so incensed I am posting this to warn other people.
By the way do not pay any attention to polite replies to these reviews offering to fix the problem etc. These people are scammers and have no intention of fixing anything. I am still receiving emails saying they have processed a refund which of course never appears!

Ripped off.

I have recently purchased a so called pressure cleaner which attaches to a garden hose and it was not only a waste of money but a waste of time, it didn't perform any better than holding your finger over the end of the hose, I have red their reviews and it is clear that they are a rip-off mob and should not be trusted.

Paid for express post & still waiting 2 weeks later !!!

I order a special pillow for my wife who is ill on the 6 Nov & paid for express post to get it delivered asap in 3 to 4 days. It is now the 18 Nov & I still have not received the pillow which my wife needs urgently. The tracking shows that is has been moved to nearly 20 depot stations & been in Sydney depots for the last couple of days but I still haven’t received it. I sent 2 messages to their support section & received 2 apologies & an offer to refund my express postage costs I paid for. Having a Aust website & name Modern Aussie I was of the belief the company was based in Australia and I paid a lot more for the same item heaps cheaper elsewhere so I could get the item asap but it appears to be based in China and they use the words ‘station’ in the tracking so you don’t know what city or country the depots are at. I just want the pillow for my wife asap. Please use caution when ordering from Modern Aussie.

Fooled by the Aussie name

Fooled by the Aussie name, payed 3 times the price as same product on temu, disappointed in myself for being sucked in like that.
Product doesn't cut grass as they show in thier advert, pretty flimsy, battery lasts only for 10 min. Put the circular blade on to see if it worked better than normal blades, stalled the motor as soon it touched anything grass or thin twigs. Piece of crap.

Do Not purchase from this seller

Do Not purchase from this seller. They are a scam . They claim to ship from Melbourne but ships from china. Items paid for and not received. They offered a $10 refund on a $150 purchase. They are crooks. Communication sucks with repetitive “we’re sorry” but no action. Didn’t even get my $10 refund. Same items which was gold cutlery in my case can be found in stores and other websites at similar prices. I thought I was giving an Aussie company a go. Never again. You will be so sorry dealing with them. Buyers. You’ve been warned. Totally dishonest seller. But I haven’t finished with them legally. I’ll spend whatever it takes to bring them to justice.

Efficient solution finder

There was a problem. My order didn’t arrive via Aust Post in due time. I waited until the recommended time from Aust Post, then emailed Modern Aussies. I received an immediate email response. The order arrived via Aramex within a reasonable time. And 2 days later, the Australia Post order came through. While I offered to return one order, I allowed to keep it!! Just in time for Christmas gift giving. Problem solved!!

Buyer Beware

I purchased a pair of supposedly orthopedic sandals for $54.00. When I recieved them they were very cheaply made and did not fit. They were the same as a pair I got in Bali for $15.00. When I contacted the company regarding this I was offered a $30.00 gift certificate for Modern Aussies or a refund of $15.00 .

So my choice is lose my money or pay more for another pair ( not happening) and get to keep an awful pair of shoes which are not orthopedic and don't fit.
22/10/25 After this review and many phonecalls from the company I have now recieved a full refund . This is a good outcome for me but I don't think it should have taken all this. And the shoes are still cheap

Greatest appreciation to Modern…

Greatest appreciation to Modern Aussies, particularly Lily for coming to my aid in a delivery bungle. The product Barefoot sneaker are simply the best - I have been off work and have had 2 surgeries on my a broken ankle, with a 3rd one later this year. They are the only enclosed shoes that I have found that I can wear - thanks to my BFF who brought me a pair from Modern Aussies and now I have 2 more in different colours.
In Addition my Physio is impressed and said there is some promising information coming out about these types of shoes

We ordered an air duster for our business over four months ago. The delivery company repeatedly failed to even attempt delivery to a well-known commercial building. After many emails and several months of follow-up, I was told a refund would be processed once they completed their investigation. About two and a half months later, the refund was finally issued, though I wasn’t informed until nearly four months after the original order.

To their credit, communication did improve once they reached out regarding my review, and I’ve added an extra star for the effort they made in the end.

Items NOT made in Australia, they just use that name, inferior imports like a lot of other companies.

Inferior materials,so flimsy and light, only arrived in a plastic bag, floppy straps,bare a mil wide NO cushioned insole support, the add shows strong supportive sandals. They DONT look like the shoes advertised, Also another company uses the same add. They state a money back guarantee but they Don't refund as only offer credits for more (in their shop) products. Make it difficult for returns, so you end up with inferior products. Best to go to a physical shop and try on a shoe.

Cordless 150mm pruning saw.

Firstly, the delivery took 16 days, despite us paying for express post. The web site stated a maximum of 10 days.
The product when it arrived was not what we ordered.
The pruning saw shown on the website and ordered on August 25th, was different to the pruning saw delivered on the 10th September.
The pruning saw delivered on the 10th was also defective in that the chain guard was two inches or 50 mm shorter than the saw bar, which means in the event of any kickback, the operator would be struck in the face by the unguarded bar and chain.
Lastly, the return information on the website did not give or confirm the return address.
We returned it to the PO Box address on the Australia Post label on the box.
This product was advertised today for $59.95 on TEMU but we were charged $149.99. Normally we would not buy from AMAZON but we just found out that MODERN AUSSIES is owned by AMAZON.

Overall impression is a total rip-off .

Modern Aussies tried to get us to remove our post on Trustpilot with a small cash gift instead of a refund. No dice Modern Aussies. The product was defective and dangerous and despite your plausible reply to consider my concerns you have done nothing to address the safety issue . As an experienced chain saw operator I am very familiar with the safety problems that this 150mm pruning saw presents.
Anyone considering a hand pruning saw should stick with professional products like STIHL. I will never be tempted to stray from trusted brands again, especially if AMAZON has anything to do with it.

A scam company

A scam company. Buy elsewhere! – I bought a charging station which was supposed to charge 3 devices simulaneously and rapidly. Not only was it extremly slow at charging, it would stop working if more than 1 device was put on it. This was $160.00 full price!

After emailing them asking for a refund they refused to refund me and didn't even want to take a look at it (i.e. they didn't doubt it was faulty, they send them out like that). I've just lodged a complaint with consumer affairs Victoria, hopefully they will take action to stop these scammers.

DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. THEY WILL SCAM YOU.
