The service is despicable

The service is despicable. I paid for removal of my old dryer and they left the new one in the lounge room and left. They wouldn't take the old one. I explained I paid for it. They were rude and just left. I've taken the day off work to have to now spend hours on the phone fixing this mess. I'll never buy Miele again. I like their products but I've heard too many stories of their bad service. How am I meant to move a dryer on my own?

Customer Service - The Worst Experience

I had my Miele in-built coffee machine repaired and serviced in February 2024 at a cost of around $500 only for it to be not working again by April. Sent an email to the customer care centre and spoke with the representative (who was extremely abrupt and quite rude). Apparently the only "care" in Miele Customer Care is that they don't care - couldn't / wouldn't transfer me to someone who could help, wouldn't provide details of escalation or who could waive a technicians call out fee or give any other option apart from bad luck and pay the $199 technician fee.

Absolutely not and I will throw the machine out and buy a Nespresso Machine.

Good

Really happy with my Miele washing machine it’s reliable and relatively quiet but must admit the music playing at the end of the wash cycle is annoying. It does a good job and I’m happy with it.

I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction

I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the after sales service received from Miele.

I have had a problem with the following 2 products of yours:

1) tumble dryer that i have waited for over a month to be repaired and when your technician comes to repair, Miele have ordered or issued him the incorrect part.

2) Fridge which is brand new has a faulty gas strut and we are still waiting for the faulty part to be replaced.

This experience has left me feeling frustrated and disappointed, especially considering Miele's reputation for quality and customer care. Unfortunately this experience has tarnished my perception of the brand.

I believe it is crucial for Miele to uphold its commitment to excellence not only in its products but also in its customer service.

I kindly request a thorough invesitigation into the above matter and take appropriate measures to rectify the situation.

I trust Miele takes this customer feedback seriously and will take the correct steps to address my concerns promptly. I look forwards to a swift resolution and restoring my confidence in the Miele brand.

Don’t trust Miele’s reliability…

Don’t trust Miele’s reliability propaganda and pay double the price. Aftersales customer service is appalling!
I bought a gas cook-top paying $3000, double the price of a normal high-end cook top. It lasted only a couple of years and now having a block in a tube causing the flame suppressed. I went to the Doncaster Miele showroom and inquired about the issue. They were not supportive at all and told me that they can send a Miele technician who would charge $180 for half-an-hour to diagnose ONLY. The estimate to repair comes afterwards. I had extended warranties for all my electrical appliances I bought other than Miele, and Miele doesn’t offer that facility. Now I am stuck with whether to pay a massive amount to repair it or by a new Bosch cook-top instead. My advice to you is, if you have a technical fault with Miele equipment you buy, there is no cost effective and reliable solution available to get it replaced or repaired after their standard two-year warranty is over.

Rude and disorganised

The customer service team was rude and unhelpful. She said they were "doing me a favour" by delivering a dishwasher that I had bought and paid for delivery and installation. Apparently it was my fault that the truck they sent was too big - because planning their deliveries is my job? Delivery was late and extremely rude customer service rep...

Miele vacuum cleaner bags and personal data

I tried to buy Miele vacuum cleaner bags from David Jones in Sydney today. They would NOT sell them to me without me giving my name, address and phone number. Seriously - Miele requires you to hand over your personal data to buy... vacuum cleaner bags. It's beyond crazy, this policy needs to change.

I went against my initial instinct after poor service from Miele on a prior experience and again so disappointed. No message aside from a text that is missing a link to follow the delivery. No number to call. No message to tell me when they are close by…rather I’m told I’m meant to stay at the house from 9:30-12:30??!!
And then I arrive to be told that the $3000 washing machine gets left at the front door because it’s delivery only.
An absolute joke. I won’t be buying Miele again and will do my best to ward others off. The Australian Miele team in customer service needs a rehaul.
This is on the back of looking to purchase another product from their showroom - salesperson knew nothing about it and stated you are paying for the name…

I bought a Miele HX2 Pro Vacuum cleaner…

I bought a Miele HX2 Pro Vacuum cleaner from Godfreys in Bunbury. I couldn't try it before buying it because they didn't have one on display. They also didn't give me a receipt.
When I got it home I found two faults, one was that it only worked intermittently.
Godfreys refused to help so I waited half an hour on the phone to speak to the Miele national assistance line while told me to take the machine to a service agent 45km from my home. It turned out that they didn't service vacuum cleaners so I had a wasted 90km round trip.
Next I contacted Miele in Perth and was told that someone would call me, but after 4 months of hassles and no progress I had the machine repaired privately.
I hate it!
It's very heavy, difficult to change the parts and has a warranty that Miele refuses to honour.
Miele is the worst organisation with which I have ever dealt. I would NOT recommend it to anyone.

Do not buy Miele appliances from Harvey…

Do not buy Miele appliances from Harvey Norman.
My elderly mother purchased everything for her kitchen reno a year ago. She paid in full. And now the builders are here and her Miele dishwasher is apparently still in Germany.
I’d suggest Miele look into the customer care its stockists provide.
Harvey Norman:
Terrible service. No apology. No assistance. No Miele dishwasher in sight.

Worst Products Ever

We bought a top-of-the-line dishwasher from JB Hi-Fi and have had 18 months of ownership, with a total of 2 months worth of a functional machine. It has been broken and faulty from new, taking 3 months each time for someone to come and try and fix it. This morning we complained on their phone service and asked for a refund for the 10th time - stating that had we known it was going to be so unreliable, we would not have purchased it with hindsight. As per the rules and regulations set by the ACCC, we are entitled to a refund as the product is significantly damaged and not fit for purpose. The staff are completely unhelpful.

Terrible service

Miele have a wait of many months for delivery of most kitchen appliances. They ask for full payment in order to prioritise delivery. The wait is still many months. Then we cancelled and were promised a refund. Weeks later we are still trying to get a refund. Their service is truly appalling.

Poor communication and delivery service

I bought this dryer online over two weeks ago. When purchasing I was asked to put in a requested delivery date and was told it would be confirmed. I didn’t get any confirmation so had to call Miele the day before my requested delivery date and (after a 20 min wait in hold) was told it had been scheduled in for a week later. I told the person I had an appointment on this day but would otherwise could be home. He could not tell me a delivery time but said the delivery person would contact me the morning of to make sure I was available at the time of delivery. I rearranged my work so that I was at home that day. This would not have been my preferred day for a delivery.
The day before delivery I received a text with a 4 hour window of my delivery. The day of delivery I received a text saying my delivery was coming in 30 min. This was the exact time of my one appointment that day. I tried calling the number the text came from but it said the number wasn’t valid. I searched for a number to contact them but there was nothing. I tracked the delivery and waited 3 min past when they were supposed to arrive and then could not wait any longer and had to go to my appointment. I left a note on the door for the delivery person to leave it out back. I arrive back from my appointment 30min later to see no delivery. I check the tracking app and it says delivery failed. I call Miele and again after 20 min on hold I speak to someone and they tell me someone needs to sign for the delivery. They told me they could not book my redelivery for another 2.5weeks! I requested to collect from the store rather than have it delivered but THEY DONT ALLOW PICKUP - delivery only! They couldn’t tell me why, just that they only do delivery. Very poor that I am forced to wait over a month for delivery and am not able to pick up the dryer.

Overall there was very poor communication. I was not told of my delivery date until I called Miele. Every time I called there was at least 20min wait until I spoke to someone. There was no communication that someone needed to sign for the delivery. There was only a 30min warning prior to delivery and no way to contact the delivery person.
I now won’t have my dryer for over a month after I purchased it! Really disappointed with the communication and service so far.

Stay away from Miele!

We've had a very disappointing experience with Miele. Thinking we were buying quality, we purchased half a dozen appliances of theirs. The first one was problematic to install because they had not updated the manual, and then suffered a fault within a few weeks. It's been about eight months now and there has still be no repair work carried out. A second appliance developed an annoying minor fault but we put up with it since Miele obviously don't provide customer service. An appliance then developed a major fault, and that's when the real problems began.

Miele's telephone system lets you wait on line for an hour or more. I couldn't get through but our retailer finally did, so I got a call back from Miele. I explained the situation and that I would like to talk to a technician to see if I could clear the fault. That was on Monday; now it's Friday and we've still got a defective device and no call back. Miele continue to be unresponsive; I've tried social media, their useless bot and the eternal phone queue with no success.

If this was a cheap brand, the multiple failures and terrible service would be things we would accept as being our own fault for buying crud. But this is NOT a cheap brand - they are expensive. When you buy a premium product, you don't expect poor quality and customer service that is disgustingly rude.

I've now lost all faith in Miele, and we'll have their rotten products in the house for years. In some ways I now hope they continue to fail so I can take action to get them replaced by a decent brand.

Stay away from Miele if you want good appliances and service.

If you buy a Miele appliance and it needs spare parts, prepare to get totally ignored! I have been chasing Miele service department for the better part of a YEAR and no one is getting back to me regarding the basic fridge accessories that I need. You will pay a lot of money for these appliances but forget the customer service /after care following this, you just won't get it.

Purchased a Miele washer and dryer in…

Purchased a Miele washer and dryer in Feb 2017. Washer had constant grinding noise when drum rotated, had to be replaced under 2 years old. Dryer failed after just over 2 years, power control unit had to be replaced. Miele tech asked for payment for repair as was out of MIele warranty, I pushed back reminding him under Australian Consumer Law dryer had not lasted a reasonable amount of time. Tech eventually agreed to no charge repair. July 2021 same fault occurred with dryer, needed power control unit replaced and charged $213 for labour. Unfortunately I was not there and my partner agreed to pay. Unit has not lasted a reasonable amount of time (especially given Miele's premium brand positioning) so we were entitled to a remedy of a no charge repair under the Australian Consumer Law. Emailed Miele requesting a refund but no response. Either Miele are not aware of the Australian Consumer Law (hard to believe and this would be negligent) or they choose to deliberately ignore it, either way not acceptable. Buyer beware!

Miele - where have they gone?

Miele, the créme de la créme of household appliances...
Their customer service seems to have gone to pot, sadly. It seems, as well, that their appliances are also heading that way. Please don't ask about my new tumble dryer.
My call, (not about my tumble dryer - that is yet to come!) took just minutes, but took 46 minutes with their holding time. They are unable to provide a refund to the card that something was charged to - that must be a first! No, they want your bank account details. Sorry, I do not give out my bank account details to anyone, especially in this day and age. In that case, 'the refund may not go through'. Really? They must be the only company in Australia that is unable to process a refund on the same credit card that something was purchased on. And the order? Sorry, we only give you an order number verbally, there is no confirmation of same, via email, which is required for both the order AND the refund that 'won't go through'.
Once upon a time Miele really kicked butt for quality of product and service, but sadly, not these days.
It is also interesting to note that the reviews posted by others on this site have no follow through or comment from the company. Most posts, whether positive or negative, usually get a response from other companies. I feel that lack of response seems to sum up this company these days - arrogant and beyond themselves....ooh, I must go - I have just had a text from Miele asking for some feedback on my experience.....

Absolutely superb service from Spartan and Miele

Absolutely superb service from purchase at Spartan, Campbelltown, SA to installation today. I searched LOADS of retailers fo find one that would fit a fully integrated dishwasher AND the old one's front panel. HOW could this be SO hard to find? Spartan were great and suggested Miele for quality and great fitting service. Team came today, called in advance to confirm arrival, fitted new one quickly and VERY cleanly. Fitted the old front panel no problem. Gave me an excellent run through the new machine and its care and controls. Took old machine away and left everything spotless. The two guys were fantastic and I will definitely buy Miele again, not just for quality of appliance but for such a top class delivery and fitting service. 10/10
