Miele Washers are not worth the money they cost
A few months over 7 years ago I bought a Miele washing machine Typ: WKB130 8kg. It was "Made in Germany". It cost $1829.- these days.
I didn't expect that it would break down just after 7 years and a bit. It just stopped working during a wash and it was totally dead. There was no power on the machine. I couldn't switch it on anymore. The touch screen didn't react. I tried to call Miele service which was a pain. I couldn't get through. They let me wait for over 30 min on the phone. At the end I found a online booking site to book a repair. I was hopeful that it would be a minor issue with Miele's reputations. I had to wait for 2 weeks to get an repairer to come. The call out fee was $150.- including a half an hour checking time. I was still positive thinking but after he had checked the electronics of the machine he gave me a very shocking answer. He said that the back controlling board unit of it had to be replaced and it would cost $880.- including labour!!! By the way he mentioned that he couldn't guarantee that the front board unit would work after that repair and that could cost additional $350.-!!! I bought this machine especially because of its long working life which Miele does promote all the time in their adds. The promote around 20 years of working and especially because it was made in Germany... I expected that these type of machine would work at least for 15 years. The repair price is in no relation to the replacement material and labour. It is just unbelievable to charge such prices for a repair of some electronics. So the only solution for me was to look for another new and much cheaper washer. It is actually a disgrace to throw such a well build washer away, but I cannot afford such high amounts of money to spend. I hardly used it more then twice a week. The machine looked like new. It is also an environmental disaster when people are forced to throw their expensive machine away after such a short time because it is cheaper to buy a new one of another brand then repair it. By the way no one could guarantee for how much longer it would work anyway.... I think Miele washers nowadays are not worth the money they cost anymore. It's such a disgrace!

Stayed at home whole day for a delivery that did not happen - how can this arrogance survive ?
Don't let Miele install your dishwasher
The installers could not install the dishwasher, although the plumber installed it this morning in a a few minutes.
The installers did not cap the pipe when they removed the old dishwasher yesterday so the kitchen flooded last night when I emptied the sink.
The Chatswood Miele Centre hung up because I did not buy the dishwasher from them, I bought it online (I was not rude or abusive or anything like that).
The product may be good. The Southport Help Centre was excellent both times - too bad about the rest.
Time for Miele to Shut the Doors
Thinking that paying the extra for a quality dishwasher has proved to be a mistake. Luckily the first issue was under warranty, though trying to get the service people out became it's own adventure. Number two issue is yet to be resolved, as Miele are a bit special, and suppling a part seems a bit of a struggle, nobody seems to know what to do about a broken dishwasher or the part to fix it. Maybe spend less time on your delightful adds, and put it into a bit of technology 'Miele for Life' must be based on the life of a small rodent and has no correlation with an actual life. I'm reminded of those nice European cars, that should they manage to get through a warranty period, it's considered a great 'win'. Never again for this household, your 'high end' product is no better, maybe even worse than a low end Asian offering. To all you in the Miele head office, patting yourselves on the back for another great effort, think again, 'hype' doesn't produce a good product, R&D does, maybe after you sack yourselves for lack of effort, your technicians might need to think about a less technical job that doesn't confuse their tiny brains. And oh yes, based on a genuine experience!
Miele Washing Machine-Model WDD030 8kg…
Miele Washing Machine-Model WDD030 8kg purchased on 24/9/19 for $1600 (inc gst) from Harvey Norman. Died on us 9/2/25-life of 5 years approx. Repairing costs estimated $700-$800 (official Miele service centre), that too could go higher if the parts are more expensive.(a brand new Samsung or Bosch with similar features is available in that price) Prior to this we have used Fisher Paykel no issues,we actually gave it away in working condition as we were moving homes and thought should upgrade to a front load and a PREMIUM brand. Note- the Miele machine is generally always operated by 1 person and we are not a very adventurous family so it has been used with care. This is a very terrible experience and I would strongly not recommend investing in a premium brand-Miele given the time it lasted and the cost we paid.
W1 2018 washing machine doesn't work…
W1 2018 washing machine doesn't work when it is humid due to a design fault they introduced when they dropped mechanical controls in favour of insufficiently moisture-sealed digital touchscreens. I am sure Miele know about this fault but they do not acknowledge it anywhere. I wonder why?
And like so many others have experienced, I also found it virtually impossible to get access to service - either online or in person. I eventually talked a Miele sales person in Australia into letting me talk to a technician about the fault (since my WM was out of a service area and Miele don't allow anyone else to service their machines). The technician pretty much confirmed my diagnosis. The Miele sales person also told me (~2 years ago) Miele were in the midst of a review/change of their technical servicing system. Judging by reviews, they have not improved.
The design fault symptoms - in humid weather (the kind that Queensland experiences):
I can't use any of the digital controls, only the mechanical programme setter (so lose all customisation, including temperature setting (and there are only TWO programmed cold settings - a 28min starch/ rinse &12 min rinse and the rest start at 40 degrees).
Then if I am lucky enough that the digital start/stop button works (often this is also impossible), then the WM tootles constantly and stops randomly - often closing the programme down to 0.00. So imagine - just when the weather is getting more sticky and there is more washing to be done - your WM doesn't work.
This all due to crappy touchscreen controls not sealed enough from moisture and which are undoubtedly damaging the WM motherboard - so i am sure the lifespan of my WM is being severely shortened. Yeah so much for their environmentally friendly credentials.
I read that the switch from mechanical to touchscreen controls across so many appliances is because they are much cheaper (and hence profitable) to manufacture. Yeah i didn't notice a price cut either. The corporate sociopaths win again.
I not only won't be buying Miele again, but i won't be buying any appliance with a touchscreen.
Terrible customer careought a vacuum online under The Good…
Bought a vacuum online under The Good Guys. Brand is Miele. Unfortunately the vacuum nozzle snaps and broke. Unit still under warranty. Went to Good Guys and showed them what happened to the nozzle. Person from Good Guys reffered me to Miele customer Care. Called them and able to talked to a certain Harry. Transferred me to service and waited for more than 35 minutes. I hanged up and calle again. A certain Minh assisted me and told me to send an email been awhile now I havent got any reply. Really sick of their customer care🥵
Miele dishwashers: Garbage
Keep well away from Miele dishwashers. Substandard garbage. I was deceitfully misguided by Miele and spent $60K on its rubbish, so I know what I'm talking about. Quality is unbelievably poor. Miele's dishwashers all share the same circulation pump which has major design defects predating the 1990's. The company goes to great lengths to hide these defects, and is more than willing to lie about it if you asked. Despite Miele's deceit and lies about 20 years of usage, the pump breaks down after a short while. The dishwasher ceases until the pump is replaced at a significant cost. It will conk again not long after that. Besides, cutlery and crockery is poorly cleaned. Consider more reliable and cost effective alternatives. There's not a single one of its appliances that Miele can evidentially cite to have lasted 20 years. There's a long a list of appliances discontinued after a short while due to poor quality. I know there're many people out there with the same experience. I would suggest forming a Me-too movement to launch a class action against Miele.
Disgusting Arrogance of Miele
DO NOT BUY FROM MiELE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Early December I purchased a $738 baking dish for a Christmas gift from Miele. There was no communication as to when this order was going to arrive. One evening at approximately 7.30pm there was a knock at the door and my husband was handed the baking dish from a courier.
I was disgusted to see that Miele hadn’t even packaged this $738 pan in a box, it was just in its item box with sticky tape all over it and with a big UGLY Australia Post postage label stuck right on the front of the box, (let’s not forget this item is a gift.) I immediately took pictures and emailed Miele about how my order had arrived in this appalling condition. Miele customer service couldn’t care less, they were extremely rude and unhelpful, they even went as far as to accuse me of damaging the box where I had carefully tried to remove the ugly postage label. It’s quite inconceivable to me that Miele thinks this is an acceptable way to send peoples orders out to them, how dare they have the audacity and arrogance to be abusive to me for their disgraceful lack of customer service. Obviously the Australian branch of Miele is being run by a bunch rude MORONS, I suggest anyone considering buying Miele products DON’T, they have absolutely no concept of what customer service is couple that with their absolute rude arrogance. There are plenty of other good companies that DO understand what customer service is, please be warned.
Miele stick vacuum…. Worst ever!
Do not ever buy a Miele stick vacuum. I have had many good Miele products over the years but the stick vacuum is useless, heavy and awkward. It doesn’t pick up much and then when you hang it up all the bits that you have managed to collect fall out of the bottom. I also have to use a knife to get the fluff collected out of the collection container. I have now thrown it out and replaced it with the latest Dyson, which has been a game changer!

Do NOT buy- won’t cover warranty after 18mths
No NOT buy Miele. My previous Miele was awesome- so we decided to spend that extra money when needed replacement. Didn’t even last 18 months - then WONT cover warranty. Customer care said talk to repairman. Repairman said talk to customer care. VERY BIG runaround. Frustrating & Quality just no longer there. I would’ve been better to buy a cheaper brand & got a new machine after 18 months. I’m very angry at quality as well as Miele customer service

Been a customer of miele for over 30…
Been a customer of miele for over 30 yeasrs and spent an enormous amount of money, on your products no issues or major problems till NOW.have got an induction 5 place cooktop , been great , it now doesn't work and ordered a new part which I asked your service if i put it in with an electrician and didn't fix the problem could i return it , no issues with the return mind you $900.Didnt work so i called meile again for the service guy that comes out, normally wasn't able, due to personal reasons so meile sending another tech.

Unacceptable wait for delivery of new dishwasher
Ordered a new Miele Dishwasher through Winnings Appliances on 27-Jun-2024 and received confirmation from Miele on 28-Jun-2024. Scheduled delivery and earliest was 25-Jul-2024. Website said to expect a txt 3 days prior. No txt received and website now showing earliest deliver 12-August. Called them and told no stock available. This is about 1 month later than the estimated delivery date they gave on their website when I placed the order. If I had known it was going to take this long I would have ordered the Seimens. Lady at Miele said she would try to expedite delivery but can’t give me a update for 2-3 days.
Further update: I did receive a call back on the same day but they said they have no stock and the earliest they can deliver is 12-August. I should expect a text 2-3 days prior. The same information I was given when I requested the delivery 26 days ago.
That's 45 days after I placed the order.
Customer Service completely unhelpful other than confirming the new delivery date and appear to be doing nothing to expedite delivery.
WORST customer service
Ordered a washing machine and dryer through Harvey Norman and I've never experienced such poor customer service!
- delivery date set for 1st July - they turned up only to turn around due to our narrow street (which we did state on the delivery information prior). They took photos which showed they even made it to our house only for them to turn around. Said they would be back in the afternoon in a smaller truck only to not show up
- had to call myself to ask what had happened and they said they couldn't book I another delivery till 17th July
- had to call and email from overseas to get confirmation of delivery window
- delivery window comes and goes and I had to call Miele to ask what happened and they said they couldn't deliver now till the afternoon - delivery via a partner eurolink. Eurolink like Miele have very poor customer service and don't even answer thier phone or messages
I don't know who trains or hires the people in these customer service roles but management really need to have a good hard look at how they are treating thier customers. I've never experienced such pathetic and horrible customer service before.
I would advise anyone and will be advising everyone I can never to order from Miele. I wish I never had - there are so many brands out there that I'm sure would provide better customer service and you could also save $$$
Poor impatient customer service
Poor impatient customer service. got them to come repair a brand new oven twice and its still not working. was on the phone with customer service and they were not polite and was very impatient to try and find the best steps forward with this.
Poor quality, waste of money.
We used Miele vacuum for our new wool carpet (good quality one/commercial grade) for about 6 months. Just recently we noticed that the surface of the carpet became quite rough and with a lot of fluff/damaged loops. You can see details on photos - loop structure is broken is many places. It turned out that damage was caused by the vacuum head that had some sharp details underneath. We used our vacuum on a low pressure/suction mode according to the instruction, but our new carpets were still damaged in all 3 our bedrooms. After this, we contacted our retailer where we bought this vacuum, and they referred to the local Miele representative in Perth. They just informed us that there is no solution to this issue. While they admitted that Miele vacuums/their heads are not suitable for wool carpets/loop structure, they refused to provide refund (still on warranty), let alone to compensate the damage to our carpets. Then we contacted Miele Floor care team directly, and they again just confirmed that there is no solution for the issue, their vacuums aren't suitable for the loop structure/wool carpets, and refused to do anything about it. Overall, they just blamed us even though I mentioned many times that we used vacuum according to the instruction and in a very accurate way. We've read other comments and it turned out we are not single ones who have the same issue. Please be aware when you buying a Miele vacuum.
