All the staff at Mediation First were friendly, understanding and the collaboration to get the situation resolved was highly professional. I would recommend anyone to use this company. You are informed of what to expect from the first meeting and at every stage. They are timely in their responses and any additional information or guidance is up to date with government policies. Waste of time
I found this was a waste of time contacting this company. I was unsuccessful in resolving my issue. Correspondence from the mediator was very little from themselves and the person I wanted to resolve things with, as they only sent out an email to them. And when they got no response, from the other party, they just closed my file. Not much effort was made in my opinion.

Having had a look at your case I can see that we did attempt to contact the other party both by email and letter but had not received a response after more than two weeks. As you can appreciate whilst we will make efforts to contact the other party it is ultimately their choice as to whether to engage and, so that there is a consistent process, this needs to be time limited to some extent.
As we set out in our concluding email to you, and as we do to all our clients where mediation does not proceed, mediation is not a now or never event, the door remains open and should the other party be in touch with us then we will contact you to see if we can facilitate joint mediation sessions.

Our mediator
Our mediator, Will was excellent. He very quickly got up to speed with our situation which wasn't straightforward and he was very understanding and supportive. He explained everything in a clear and easy to understand way with positive advice about how we move forward from this point to achieve the outcome that we are hoping for. We were made to feel very comfortable and reassured during the meeting, which by it's very nature was quite stressful and emotional but Will was absolutely first class in putting us at ease and helping us through the meeting. I am really sorry to hear that we were not able to help you find a resolution to your particular situation. In responding to your review, you will appreciate that I am unable to go in to any specific details here due to confidentiality.
However, I would like to respond by saying that for a number of reasons it is not always possible to proceed to joint mediation sessions. Our mediator will consider a number of factors to determine whether mediation is safe and appropriate following seeing both clients in the initial one-to-one meetings.
Whilst our mediators will always to try their best to facilitate a resolution through mediation, in some cases, unfortunately, it would not be helpful to move forward with mediation and court will be the most appropriate place to consider the issues raised.
We hope that even where mediation does not proceed that the one-to-one meeting with the mediator is beneficial in giving you an understanding of the dispute resolution options available, including the mediation process, and a chance to discuss your situation and possible next steps with an experienced accredited family mediator.
I hope this is helpful in addressing your comments on the experience and Mediation First wishes you the best for the future.
