My client, a hotel business in a remote part of western Scotland recently had a large 550 L hot water cylinder develop a leak. This type of cylinder is not something that you can just buy off-the-shelf, but McDonald Water Storage committed to making me a replacement cylinder within a week. After listening to my explanation of what we needed, they suggested a simple upgrade to improve our installation and within half an hour I had a sketch drawing of what they would supply and a competitive quotation. They agreed to supply to me through my preferred retailer, a local Builders Merchant with whom I have a trade account, Communications were fantastic and the product was ready a day earlier than promised. I feel as though I’ve been treated like a VIP. What can I say? You don’t get service like this from many companies and these people have been absolutely brilliant. Highly recommended.

We are a small heating and plumbing business and have used MacDonald a few times now as they do a slimline version of their Thermastore direct and indirect cylinders. They are great to deal with and the product is excellent. You can fit them in very narrow cupboards and where you cannot fit an unvented system due to building regs. They are simple to plumb in and solve the poor hot water pressure issues we so often find with conventional cylinders. We will definitely be using them again.

Thermal store got shipped but didn’t arrive the next day. The lovely guys at McDonalds had it all sorted out within an hour after one enquiry per email.

The company was very helpful and provided some good advice at initial contact as I was trying to find a replacement for my Albion heat store.
A competitive quote was provided at initial contact and all early queries were dealt with almost by return.
Very good advice and clarity provided prior to instruction to proceed with manufacture.
Manufacturing process was very quick and the cylinder was delivered 7 days after the order was placed.
The cylinder is coated with a thick layer of insulation so it’s not possible to view the workmanship on the copper cylinder however all that is visible appears to be manufactured to a high standard
The cylinder was provided with a thermostat and immersion heater and also fitted with a temperature gauge.
The insulation was slightly damaged during transit this being the fault of the delivery company as the cylinder was well attached to a pallet and wrapped in bubble wrap.
Fortunately the damage to the insulation was shallow and a repair was easily made following some advice on how to repair from the company.
From start to finish my dealings with McDonald’s Water Storage has been excellent.

My business requires me to purchase like for like products, McDonald are able to assist me with my needs, Even products that are 15yrs old the can offer direct replacements.

I often send a picture of the old style cylinder & they will come back with a modern replacement.

Replacement hot water tank was ordered on Friday and was delivered on the Monday, the service was excellent and the delivery man was most helpfull. Would certainly recommend this company

The world isn't blessed with too many 5 star companies but these guys have been first class in terms of quality, delivery and after sales service. Highly recommended.

Excellent company, used them for years. Nobody makes anything that comes close to competing with their thermal stores.

We ordered brushed copper push plates for our nursery as part of our plan for the safe re-opening of ELC after lockdwon. The company were great to deal with, we got a sample very quickly and when we ordered the plates they arrived very quickly and installing them was simple.

They work really well for us as we try and keep safe and healthy and look great on the doors.

I'm a self builder (but not a plumber or heating eng) that specified and fitted an open vented system based around a thermal store provided by David.
I cannot praise highly enough the help and service provided by the company both in the early part of the design and specification and the after care.
The 300L thermal store and F&E tank provided were custom designed to my specification and provided at an extremely competitive price, and delivered in a timely fashion for a 100% perfect service.
Bravo McDonald water storage. I will use again.

The whole process from initial specifications to the deliver of the finished product went smoothly and was painless, and the price, especially considering it was custom made was very competitive.

I had a need for custom thermal store to fit in a tight space. I was put in tough with McDonalds through a third party after having been let down by another manufacturer, and I have to say their service was absolutely brilliant - thanks David :-)
They clearly understood my needs, took care to make sure we both had the same idea of what was needed, and it was delivered in good time considering it was a custom build. It's now partially installed and the only leaks have been in my plumbing :-( Obviously it's hard to see much when it's all covered in foam, but what I can see (including shining a torch into some of the ports) shows good workmanship.
I'm looking forward to many years of good service from this thermal store.
Not that I have a big demand, but they will be my "go to" suppliers for any future cylinders I might need (we have a couple of rental properties, one of which could well benefit from a thermal store).

I fitted a 995x550 Power-flow unvented cylinder in my home in 1994 manufactured by McDonald's and 26 years latter it is still producing hot water for the household.

I can't really find fault with this company. i ordered a Thermal Storage tank just prior to lockdown 2020. McDonalds phoned me to assess the urgency of my purchase and agreed to send the tank immediately. It arrived in a couple of days. Unfortunately it then took several weeks to actually install it. then the problem presented itself....A leak!
After much chin rubbing and scratching of beard my plumber and I came to the conclusion it must be a fault with the tank.
Mc Donald's agreed to send a replacement subject to a deposit to ensure the original was returned. I agreed on the Monday, tank constructed on Tuesday, sent on Wednesday and delivered on Thursday.
The investigation revealed transit damage that would have been impossible to identify prior to installation.
Although McDonald's don't offer any consequential loss cover an offer was made and then improved upon. they also refunded the second deposit.
Customer service that is rarely repeated.
I would definitely recommend this company. I'm not entirely sure how competitive they are but in the event of an issue I can't fault them, especially in the current circumstances.
