We got married back in May and Matt was nothing but incredible from start to finish!
From meeting him at a wedding fair and having no idea what to know or ask for, to his clear follow ups and prompt email updates right down to his eye for detail on our big day!
Matt shared his professional opinions and recommendations but allowed us to make our own choices, free of pressure.
On the day, we found ourselves slightly behind schedule and had to make a decision on the spot to prioritise our photo list or getting time to mingle with our guests, Matt had suggested some great photo opportunities, which we both loved the sound of, but when it got to the moment we chose getting quality time with our favourite people over getting further, what I’m sure would’ve been, incredible shots - again there was zero pressure from Matt here and he was proactive in ensuring we got to balance our time with our guests alongside still getting our money’s worth out of his services and skillset.
Aside from the staged photos, Matt captured so many incredible candids and we’ve had so much positive feedback from our guests about how well he blended in and they didn’t even notice he was capturing these moments.
The photography was what I was most nervous for, everything else I’d planned to a tee with no room for error, and it felt like the photography was the only thing that would be ‘subject to’ certain elements on the day such as the weather, however Matt’s adaptability on the day was able to immediately alleviate any worries I had about this factor!

We met Matt at a local wedding fair and instantly found he was very open to our ideas, super friendly and we really liked his portfolio. Another key thing was that we both liked slightly different editing styles, and Matt was happy to cater to what we both wanted, where other photographers we'd spoken to had been unwilling to do this - we wanted a variety of edits, some in colour, some in a deeper black and white style. We booked Matt's platinum package, as we felt this really covered everything and we were excited to have a second photographer - his wife Joy. Communication following booking and leading up to the wedding was great, Matt and Joy responded promptly to all our queries and we also had a zoom call which was really useful. On the day Matt and Joy were amazing. My husband and I are naturally quite anxious, but Matt and Joy made us feel super comfortable and at ease throughout the day. Joy was hands on in the best way possible, helping me get into my dress and making sure my veil etc was in place for the shots. It was definitely the right choice having them both! We were really happy when we received the previews, which only made us more excited for when the full gallery arrived. We are so happy with the photos, and they were such fun photographers to work with. We even sent a Pinterest board with inspo the night before the big day and they still took the time to review this, making sure we got all the shots we wanted. We would definitely recommend booking Matt and Joy!

Matt was absolutely brilliant, really nice guy and really made the day easy. Through the ceremony barely knew he was there and he really captured every important moment! Matt was accompanied by Joy and they really are a amazing team, organising the wedding party and getting all the pictures we wanted can’t be easy, they made it look effortless, I’d use Matt again in a heartbeat, absolute pleasure to meet you Matt and Joy.
Anyone booking you guys will get the best pictures just like we have!

We met Matt and Joy 3 years ago at a wedding fair and we’re so glad we did, both of them took their time to talk to us and go through what they offer and what we was looking for, before we even got home we knew was going to book them instantly.

We’ve just received our wedding gallery back and wow the photos are everything and more, going thought them we was reliving the wedding day again, Matt and Joy both made us feel so at ease throughout the whole day.

We would 100% be recommending Matt and Joy to anyone getting married, their reasonable priced and the photos you receive are amazing!

From the very beginning, they were so helpful and offered us lots of advice, which made the whole process feel so much easier. You could tell straight away that they were incredibly experienced, but they were never pushy or made us feel pressured into anything. We had both Matt and Joy, both of which were fantastic with my small children too which was a big thing for us.

They genuinely went above and beyond for us, and we were so surprised (and delighted!) by how many photos we received — there were even more than we expected! Every photo brought back so many lovely memories of the day.

Matt & Joy were amazing from start to finish! Having met them at a wedding fair, we felt completely at ease from the start and could really see the passion for what they do. On the day they helped ensure everything ran seamlessly and they blended so well to capture the amazing candid moments. At no points during the day did we ever feel that we had to be anything but our true authentic selves. The photos are absolutely beautiful and have received so many compliments already. We truly cannot thank you both enough for everything!

I wouldnt even know where to begin with Matt and Joy. They are just out of this world, I posted on Facebook for a photographer and it was joy to messaged me and it went to my spam. Out of everyone she was the only one who said congratulations, how are you, and that just started it for me. We met In person and I fell in love with them, they was so genuine, funny, easy to talk to and booked them within the week. We had a zoom meeting to go over everything, and then the day of our wedding came. Everyone at our wedding has commented on how brilliantly beautiful the pair was. What a duo. We laughed with them, even joy helped me get in my dress, was sorting my hair out, my dress has a mishap, and she quickly sorted it out. Matt with all the blokes was brilliant to watch. It’s just a second nature. 10 hours they spent at our wedding and nothing was ever to much for them, they was literally like one of our guest you wouldn’t of known any different, barely noticed they was around just doing their thing. If I could do the day again with them I would in a heart beat.

We were looking for a very relaxed photography experience but still wanted gorgeous images. Honestly we can't recommend Matt enough, he was so incredibly easy to work with and the images are stunning. Everyone has commented on what an amazing job he did and we will absolutely cherish the photos for many years to come. We had a very intimate and relaxed wedding, Matt took the time to have a consulatation beforehand so we both felt comfortable about what would happen on the day and prepped our list of shots, it made the day so smooth. Personally the idea of taking staged photos infront of family and friends definitely brings on feelings of dread, however Matt is so warm and easy to work with, it felt completely natural. A huge thanks to Matt and if you're in any doubt we couldn't recommend him enough.

We booked Matt Allen to take all of our wedding photos at the Manor house in Quorn it was one of the best things we did.Matt and his wife spent all day with us and our guests from around 10am till 9pm and what a job they did,friendly,professional they did us proud.We have looked at some of the photos already and they are truly stunning and captured all the joy of our special day.If you need a photographer for your special day book Matt and his wife Joy,we are glad we did.

We couldn’t have chosen a better wedding photographer! From when we first met Matt at a wedding fayre at our venue, through to our online consultation and the big day, the service Matt provided was amazing. He made us feel so at ease with regular email updates right from the day of booking to the day we received our photos.

He captured our day perfectly, going above and beyond and we couldn’t be happier with our photos. All of our guests said how friendly and helpful he was, and he was a joy to have as part of our day. Matt took all the photos we discussed and more, capturing those special candid shots of us and guests and also trying out new shots, which came out amazing!

Most importantly Matt was able to work his magic on the photos of my Gran who was very ill at the wedding, editing out her medical equipment to my request at no extra cost, and as she has since passed away since the wedding, this has given the family some beautiful memories of her.

We received a few sneak peak photos the day after the wedding, which were great to share with family whilst we waited for our full gallery.

We also chose the option to add on the Photo Booth, which was one of the highlights of the evening. All our guests enjoyed using it and the props provided were great!

They truly made our day special from start to finish. They are not just photographers doing a job, they truly care and want to make your day special. We received our photos a couple of weeks ago, and were completely in awe of every single photo taken. They captured our day perfectly and we will be forever thankful .

From first meeting Matt at a wedding fayre, to the planning meeting, the wedding day and through to receiving our amazing photos the whole experience has been perfect beyond words.

Matt has been the consummate professional who has shared his skill and experience without being, in any way, over powering. Many of our guests commented that they often did not know he was there which is a true reflection of how empathetic and respectful he is as a person and a photographer.

The quality of his work was faultless. When we got our album we spent over two hours looking at every photo, remembering our perfect day. The composition and processing was first rate. Matt made amazing use of every part of the hotel grounds and the light as the day progressed. We have a fantastic set of both formal and candid photos which really tell the story of the day from start to finish.

We would not hesitate in recommending Matt to anyone who wanted a first class, professional and skilful photographer who so happens to be a really nice guy as well. You will not be disappointed.

Choosing Matt and Joy as our wedding photographers was one of the best decisions we made in our wedding planning. Our wedding photography was something that was really important to us. When we first met Matt and Joy at a wedding fayre not only did we love their work but they are also two of the nicest people you could meet. Matt is really great at communicating and he put together a timeline to ensure we got all the photos we requested. They were an absolute pleasure to have with us all day, I’m not great at posing for photos but they put me totally at ease. We’ve just received our gallery and they have captured our day beautifully. We honestly could not have chosen better photographers for our wedding than Matt and Joy. From the very beginning, when we first met with them to discuss what we wanted from our day, they listened to absolutely everything and completely understood our vision. Nothing felt forced or generic — they genuinely cared about making sure our photos reflected us as a couple and the atmosphere we wanted for the day.

On the wedding day itself, they were both incredible. Not only did they capture the most beautiful photos, but they went above and beyond in so many ways that people don’t always see behind the scenes. Joy was amazing helping me throughout the day — from holding my dress up to even helping me change my shoes — and both of them made us feel so calm, comfortable, and relaxed the entire time.

They were also so patient with our dog Lucy while taking her photos, especially when she was being a complete princess and refusing to stay still for the pictures! They handled everything so calmly and managed to capture the most gorgeous photos of her that we’ll treasure forever.

The photos themselves are honestly beyond anything we could have imagined. They captured every emotion, every little detail, and so many special moments that we’ll treasure forever. Everyone we have shown the photos to has said how incredible they are and so many people have already said they would use and recommend Matt and Joy themselves after seeing our pictures.

We were also absolutely blown away by how quickly we received everything back. We got some beautiful teaser photos the very next day, which was so special after such an emotional whirlwind, and then our full gallery arrived only 5 days later — which is unbelievable considering the quality and amount of photos we received.

Matt and Joy are not only unbelievably talented photographers, but genuinely lovely people too, and we are so grateful they were part of our wedding day. If you are considering booking them for your wedding — do it. It was one of the best decisions we made and we are beyond grateful for memories we will cherish for the rest of our lives. If anyone is considering having 2 photographers we cannot recommend this enough - it captured the entirety of our day and really went above and beyond our expectations! 😊

We first met Matt at the Wedding fayre of our chosen venue. He was helpful and friendly from the first hello. A lot of photographers can be too focused on the bride only but Matt treated us as future bride and groom equally and respectfully. We loved looking at Matt's work from previous weddings at the fayre as well as on Instagram so we knew he was the perfect choice.
Matt communicated through email in the lead up to the wedding as well as meeting in person to discuss final details 2 weeks before.
On our wedding day, Matt arrived promptly and even though we were both very relaxed, made us feel even more at ease, especially as it was a brand new experience to be in front of the camera. He spent time taking photos of our venue and decorations, as well as staged and candid photos and our parents. A lot of photographers focus on the guests however Matt purely focused on us. There is the option for Matt's Wife and photography partner to be there too to take guest photos as well but as we were having a videographer too, we didn't feel that we needed this option for 2 photographers. Matt took lots of photos outside of us in different settings and tried some new photography shots as well. Matt is extremely professional, easy to talk to and a fantastic individual whose love of photography and capturing the happy couple shone through.
Matt sent through some sneak peak photos the day after our wedding and created our gallery within a week so was exciting a week after our wedding to enjoy a glass of Asti whilst looking through our wedding photos as husband and wife.
