Shocking low availability of mens clothes!
I have noticed that rarely do M&S stock wide men's shoes, men's "long" shirts, jackets and trousers in store. Online, the items are even rarer than hen's teeth as they are always out of stock. I found this at Christmas too. Generally, I find clothes are constantly out of stock and recently I have found collecting online goods ordered for in-store collection is taking longer and longer.
M&S need to get their act together. You're advertising on TV and on social media but that's useless if you have no stock!

I have been to M&S at Stanpark on many an occasion and always found the team helpful and polite, making the shopping experience pleasurable.

Ich warte seit zwei Monaten auf meine Rückerstattung! €195,00!!! Vergeblich. Paypal hilft nicht! Nie wieder bestelle ich bei Marks & Spencer. Und in Zukunft zahle ich lieber bei online Bestellungen bei anderen Sites mit Klarna!
Zwei Monate später habe ich doch die Erstattung bekommen abzüglich 8,90€ für den Rückversand erhalten, was ich eigentlich für fair halte.
Aber ich werde trotzdem nie wieder bei M&S bestellen. Auf diesen Stress möchte ich in Zukunft verzichten!

drop in quality of food
I have shopped at M&S for more years than i can remember, but just recently i have noticed a sharp decline in the quality of the ready meals. Just last week after eating a toad in the hole and the next day a lasagne , my family asked in all seriousness " have you started shopping at ICELAND or ALDI because this meal does not taste or feel like M&S food at all". I had to admit that the sausage and the lasagne tasted poor quality and lacking in meat content . Very disappointing . I will have to consider alternatives if this cost cutting trend continues.

Wellingborough Cafe - freezing cold and overpriced!
Ordered 2 x Chicken and Grain Soups (no roll included) - £6 each, a chicken salad sandwich - £5, 1 Americano and 1 herbal tea, total price £23.40! The young girl who served us was miserable and didn't smile once. When she brought the soup over, it was just half a bowl! The cafe was freezing cold and most people had to eat with their outside coats on. When we finished our soup, we went into the shop and saw that the soup actually cost £2.75 for a whole container, whereas we were charged £12 for two bowls! We understand that the price will be higher to cover the cost of the two minutes in the microwave and the staff pay but really - a profit of £9.75? We certainly won't bother again, if you're over 60, go to Asda where they will serve you a bowl of hot soup with bread or a roll and unlimited tea or coffee for £1!

After leaving hospital I visited M&S at Wolstanton to purchase a mastectomy strapless bra. My husband waited in the upstairs cafe. I knew where the fitting rooms were as I went last last summer and had excellent service and help. I was informed that you had to book for fitting and could I return at 4pm, I explained my husband was waiting and we had to be back for my disabled daughter who was out with her carer. I said I didn't know I had to book as I didn't last time but understood if they were busy. So, I picked up a bra and matching pants and a prosthetic, and went to try on. I was pleased and paid with a gift card, I mentioned about the mastectomy as I know it's cheaper the assistant asked me to go across the floor to a main till but she had one right next to her so I said I'd paid at her till last time. I know customers were coming to try clothes on but it was right there, she asked me to serve myself but I didn't know how to do the discount. Anyway, she served me then I remembered about the strapless one I needed. She asked me to see an assistant on lingerie but I couldn't find one, then the lady who was doing fittings found her. I asked her for strapless mastectomy bras and she said I could only get them online. So how would I know if it fitted? I asked. She said it was a problem and they might have them at bigger stores. I went back the fitting room to complain and was told they had 5 rows of them! She said she would show me after serving, eventually she showed me the bras, I picked one up and went to the main till as I'd been over an hour now. Once at the till, there was a queue, I mentioned it should have a discount and she said it wasn't a mastectomy bra! So I went back to the fitting room to be told I hadn't asked for a mastectomy one. But I'd just bought one mastectomy bra, I'd asked for a fitting for a mastectomy bra and paid at their till asking for the mastectomy discount. It is only a small space where the till is ,there was 4 assistants there serving, I'd explained to 3 of them. I can't believe the ineptitude, they weren't young girls and oblivious to the fact I'd been trying to sort out a strapless mastectomy bra for over an hour!! Exhausting! I had such good service last time but I'm afraid I won't be returning.

Recently received my Ocado order and this time,as I live alone , I ordered the M&S chicken dinner which cost £5 to put bluntly it's a disgrace, piece of chicken so small you might miss it, two very very small stuffing balls, three yes three tiny roast potatos, Yorkshire puddings looks horrible and a couple of spoonfuls of peas and carrots the entire meal is worth about £1.50. why are M&S allowing this to happen. Pretty disgusting.
Damaged gift box containing Prossecco and chocolatess
I ordered a gift box containing Prossecco and chocolates as a gift when the package was delivered 22.11.24 it had tape around it stating it had been repacked.
The gift box was battered and torn so I contacted Marks & Spencers and reported the damage through their online chat service stating I had photos and would like a refund and replacement.
The customer service said they would arrange a courier collection but despite waiting since the original communication on 22.11.24 and chasing service@marks&spencers.com twice with a copy of the chat and photos I still havent received any further communication re the promised return document or refund or replacement.
I am very dissapointed with Marks customer service and am at a loss where to go to get this issue resolved.
M&S Pet Insurance is a waste of money

My dog is insured through M&S Pet Insurance - I thought M&S was a brand which can be trusted but alas they like most insurers are just out to milk as much money from you as they possibly can. He required dental treatment, covered (or so I thought) on their premium £10,000 a year policy. Unfortunately he also go ill after the procedure and needed overnight treatment which all in came to £2,500+. M&S refused the claim for treatment as according to them he hadn't had his teeth checked in the last 12 months! He is enrolled in a club at the vets which means he has a health check every 6 months which includes teeth but M&S don't want to know.
The "claim line" is completely unhelpful, you aren't allowed to speak to the "technical" team who actually make the decisions on the claims as they are not front facing. Which leads to a long drawn out extremely frustrating and stressful process of email exchanges with (I suspect) bots which are designed to discourage you from appealing the decision.
Has to be the worst customer service of any pet insurance I have had over the last 40 years, the bar is not high so this is quite some achievement.

Avoid their travel insurance. We arrived at our hotel (all inclusive 5 star) over 24 hours late because of a flight cancellation and lost over £1000. M&S insurance, which cost us £160 for the holiday in the first place. Refunded us £100, (£25 per person) because our rescheduled flight was less than 24 hours later. It was actually 23 hours later and that flight was as well further delayed by 3 hours. So we arrived 26 hours later in the country and even if they recognised that, which they didn't, we would only have received an extra £100, which is no where near the loss incurred. I questioned this and got no response from them. I think the only time you'd get your money back is if you dropped down dead and then you wouldn't need the money, so many loopholes - what is the point in travel insurance?

M&S British Beef Lasagne - worse lasagne ever!!!
On 3/10/24 I tried to buy M&S Best Ever Beef Lasagne but this had been changed to British Beef Lasagne I was informed by shop assistant. So I bought one to try, froze it and cooked it last night. So disappointed!! Meat had changed to pulled beef & mince - the pulled beef tasted slimy and not at all pleasant. Would have put up with the price increase if the meal was acceptable, but it wasn't so I will not be buying it again. Please revert to previous recipe!!
Multiple misery with M&S online order
In order to improve M&S would need to deliver items purchased - they failed on this twice. Also refund correctly the amount paid. Also provide information to customer regarding non-delivery of item and not just hope customer won't notice so pay money for nothing. Also stop retaining card details on customers account to indicate the method used without permission, when customer has already used an alternative payment method. Also, fix website so that it works adequately, allowing customer to access account details and proceed through payment process without having to repeat the effort 5 times.
Most importantly, after having caused so many problems, inconvenience and stress for absolutely no positive outcome, M&S should make some attempt to apologise. I was informed that the member of staff could not send this to me in writing. So, it seems that M&S has forgotten the importance of customer service and I, for one, will go elsewhere to shop in future.
Great Soups at a Great Price
I live in Estepona, Spain. We are lucky enough to have 2 stores within a fairly easy reach. I recently discovered their marvellous tinned soups. I especially like the chunky veg and chunky veg with chicken. I went to the Gibraltar branch and bought 30 tins of assorted. They are all under 2 pounds and are better value that the Mercadona fresh soups as the price is similar but M&S is 400gr and Mercadona is 350gr.
I urge you to give them a try, but please leave a few on the shelf for my next visit (fairly soon!)

Went to Holmbush Shoreham went into restaurant to get two lattes, I had my phone app at the ready !! The assistant got me to pay without asking for the sparks card !! When I mentioned it to her she told me off and said it was my fault for not mentioning it !!! Then she said it was too late to redeem!! I stood waiting for to correct her error! She then took my phone and swiped it !! It did not work !! And I never got my points !!
No Empathy... no common sense!
I purchased a fringed lampshade online which with postage cost almost £45.
The shade arrived via Evri in an open flimsy box. The courier insisted I checked the item before she left it with me, as the packaging was appalling. At first glance, it was present in the box and still had inner wrapping.
However.... after accepting the item, I looked carefully and found horrible flaws, not linked to how it was wrapped, but in manufacturing.
The fringes were dense in some parts and not in others, the point that the fringe trim was joined, was huge and clumsily done, and worse yet.... one of the hanging fringe parts was actually knotted in the middle....quality control must have been closed that day, or maybe they had a power cut!!!!
I got back online to return it, and found my options were,take it to an Evri parcel point, or print off a label and arrange collection!..let's just say I am advanced in years, and taking a massive box to Evri would be very difficult, and I do not have a printer. So I reached out to customer services for help.... I might as well have reached out to one of my dogs... except the dogs probably would have digested and understood better!
The latest suggestion is to take the box to an M&S branch!!! If I could get to a branch, I would have purchased the damn thing at the branch.... how is it easier to get this monstrous box to an M&S store, then to an Evri point?
I am truly disgusted with the service, and with their returns requirements....how about you find a way to get stuff collected without your customers having to buy a printer to be able to get stuff collected! In this day and age its terrible..... why do you think the onus should be on the recipient of shoddy faulty goods to be inconvenienced to get your unsalable items back to you.
I even sent photos of all the faults, and in the last correspondence from you, you said "IF" its found to be faulty!!!!!
I would have thought staff in customer services should at minimum have common sense and an ounce of empathy for customers with disabilities.
UPDATE since writing this review, I have been accused of wanting to keep the shoddy lampshade and get refunded! Truth is far from it, I have ONLY EVER asked that they arrange collection. The South African customer service team dont seem to have a brain cell between them. They simply could not dare less about service, or customers! Why should customers be inconvenienced because M&S sent out faulty items? .... in the event of their error, not just a customer changing their mind, they should be capable of arranging said items to be collected. I shall go to my grave before I ever consider buying from M&S online again, and to be honest, I dont think I'll be spending my money in their stores any time soon either!
