Thank you for your review.
We are sorry to hear that you remain dissatisfied with the outcome of your refund request. However, if you felt it necessary to share your experience publicly, we would have expected an accurate and complete account of the circumstances.
As explained to you on several occasions, we were unable to start you on a higher dosage of hormones at your Initial Consultation without updated blood test results. These tests are essential for us to assess your current hormone levels safely and to determine the appropriate dosage adjustments.
It is correct that we offered you a complimentary follow-up consultation, but this was solely in response to your dissatisfaction with the first appointment and not due to any clinical concerns or symptoms. Although no shortfall in the care provided by the doctor was identified, we took your concerns seriously and offered you a consultation with a different practitioner as a gesture of goodwill.
You accepted this offer, attended the appointment, and received detailed medical advice and guidance on both occasions. Again, the importance of obtaining updated blood tests was clearly reinforced. Following that, we did not hear from you further, no test results were ever provided, and we were not informed of any rapid weight gain or other symptoms at any point. In fact, you have presented these concerns for the first time nearly two years later, in connection with your request for a refund.
We always welcome feedback when it is constructive, factually accurate, and helps us improve our service. Unfortunately, your comments do not reflect the documented events and are, mostly, misleading & defamatory. For this reason, we must emphasise the importance of presenting information truthfully when sharing public statements.

Thank you for your review.

Dutch test is an invaluable tool in looking at patterns of hormone metabolism and the adrenal axis/stress hormone pattern but is not the gold standard for looking at absolute levels of hormones in the serum – for this blood serum levels are essential as we also need to look at FSH and LH which are the hormones from the pituitary gland in the brain that give us valuable information as to the stage of peri-menopause. Surely, your GP would agree with this. If a patient books with us seeking the best advice to address unwanted symptoms, these are the most honest and accurate advice we can offer, and they are certainly not wrong.

You have discussed the Dutch results interpretation and much more during the consultation you had with the doctor, and we did also put this in writing by providing you with a comprehensive letter you could share with your GP, if you wished. Your GP is also more than welcome to contact us anytime, if concerned we may have misdiagnosed you.

Please note, when you write that you have provided us with blood work upfront, I believe it may be fair to point out that this did not include any hormone profile. Hence, the request from the Doctor to have your hormone levels tested.

Also, as we have already clarified with you, we create bespoke customised medications to the highest standard, and we are afraid our products cannot be compared to cheaper ones you may find online, and it is absurd to even think so.

Furthermore, while investigating your complaints, we have checked our records and we found out you called the clinic the day before you booked the appointment and you spoke with one of our advisors, who provided you with all the info about the importance of blood test and costs, as well as medications prices & structure, treatment schedule, patient treatment journey and more. You went ahead and booked the Initial Consultation on your own initiative through our online portal the day after.

Therefore, it is not very clear to us the reason why you are now complaining about something you were made aware about before and didn’t stop you from booking? Please note our calls are all recorded for training and monitoring purposes.

We have no secrets and no hidden costs. All info about what we do, how we proceed, how much we charge etc.. are advertised on our website in full transparency for patients to be able to make a conscious decision before booking an Initial Consultation. Our advisors are also always available by phone for any further clarification – like they did with you.

We do really value our reviews, as it helps us to improve our standards of care to all our patients. However, we do not tolerate any sort of unfounded defamation, and we hope our response may help the readers to further understand the reasoning behind your assumptions.

We can only apologise if our service has caused any inconvenience.

Just to clarify also for the people that read the reviews, that there is no such dictatorship of the compounding Specialist Pharmacy.

We are not legally allowed to provide compounded medications to patients, if they don't follow a specific treatment schedule that involves 2 simple things:
1. Attending regular reviews
2. Organising yearly screening tests
We provide patients via email with a thorough treatment plan the includes the doctors' recommendations, as well as all the options to arrange the tests, and all of this is sent out with many months' notice.

Due to CQC regulations, we need to comply with these policies to maintain patients' safety (Please feel free to look up the topic with CQC).

If patients comply with the above as indicated, there will be no issues. However, despite our thorough communication and regular reminders, some patient may fail to meet our requirements and expect to still be prescribed BHRT, regardless if this will put the clinic in a difficult position.

We believe that mutual respect is the cornerstone of a healthy clinic-patient relationship.

If for some reason, patients are overdue for review and/or testing and need an extension of their medications, we allow 4 to 8 weeks extra supply to help them. We have also a service on our website dedicated to prescription emergencies Monday to Friday.

Investigating through your record, we see that the above is exactly what happened with you as your doctor did ask you to perform a test ASAP back in January 2022, and by July 2022 not only the tests weren't done yet, but you requested a further extension of the medications - which we gave to you and the nurse called you and talked you through the procedure.

We are glad to hear that you found a valid help through the NHS, we certainly never prevent our patients to seek alternative options if more suitable.

We are afraid it seems we have only seen you once so far, during your Initial Consultation in 2019, and no follow-up appointment has ever been booked by you afterwards - despite your doctor advising you to book an appointment 8-10 weeks after you started the treatment. Therefore, this explains why we couldn't provide you with extra medications after 6 months.
Just to clarify with you and with our readers, at the Marion Gluck Clinic we treat several conditions related to hormonal imbalance and we do so by running thorough investigations of your hormone levels. Should we detect any imbalance, we will restore this by prescribing bespoke Bio-Identical Hormones that we compound in our own Pharmacy, tailoring this to patients' needs. 
Compounded Bio-Identical Hormones are regulated by CQC, therefore, we must follow specific protocols when prescribing this, unlike the providers that do not prescribe compounded medications.
Therefore, it is essential that patients follow the treatment schedule as indicated by their doctor, otherwise we are not legally able to write prescriptions without assessing patients' health first.
Our protocols & procedures, as well as the treatment schedule to follow, are clearly advertised on our website for patients to make their own considerations before deciding to book with us.
We work beyond recommending standard dosages for patients based just on a chat, and this is what distinguishes the Marion Gluck Clinic's work from others making us so popular, as we do prescribe hormone treatment based on evidence from results only, always making sure the dosage patients are given are not higher/lower than what is physiologically appropriate for that specific person.
Providing personalised treatment plan means working in a detailed way, as we believe each individual is special and unique because hormones do not function the same way for everyone.
We apologise if you tried to contact us and didn't get the assistance you needed, sometimes our lines may get very busy and this is why our answer machine advise our patients to email us as well, should they not be able to talk to us over the phone.

We are sorry to hear you felt this way about the service you received, at the point to give us one star.

We have investigated this further, and when you spoke to the doctor for your annual review, you did not provide her with updated results like we asked you to do, as per our legal requirement. However, as a good will gesture, your doctor asked you to do the test afterwards and she would have updated the prescription accordingly - without you booking another appointment, like it should have been.

Please kindly note, we do not discuss blood tests via email, and it goes against our protocols & procedures. Patients are always required to book an appointment if they wish to go through the results and address questions and concerns further, as it should be.

Please be aware the doctors are actually unable to review results without a dedicated time slot to do so - they work on a very tight schedule.

Furthermore, please note our doctors work part-time once or twice a week only, and your doctor went through your results as soon as she was available, free of charge, and only a week later you called the first time. As you were unsatisfied with the answer, she also called you to discuss the results, and we would like to point out that even this call was free of any charge.

It seems like any enquiry you have made, has always been dealt with promptly and with flexibility - even the most recent ones.

We are afraid we are unable to share further details about these events in a public platform, so to not breach patient's confidentiality. However, if you wish to discuss this more, please contact our clinic at secretary@mariongluckclinic.com and we will be happy show you privately the full details of the correspondences you had with us so far, including the attempt to chase the results before you had your actual appointment, as well as the content of the messages the doctor sent you.
