First time visiting very disappointing and a waste of money in my opinion.
Staff were pleasant, however the cakes were next to the cheese and in proximity to raw meat
We bought 2 savoury pasties which tasted stale, and 2 pieces of cake which tasted of cheese. It was a monday so wondered if they were stale.

2 longhorn rumps which were inedible
Belly pork which was tough
Large tray of mince which was left over from Christmas i was told. BlY thr butchersure which one! This again was off and smelt awful when cooked

I would give them 0 if I could.Wasted £110 on rubbish previously frozen thawed meat.All the meat was slimmy.The chicken was smelling so bad had to chuck it out.The lamb steaks were just off cut strips of slimmy lamb which I frozen for the dogs & the so called whole rib eye joint was just rolled up grizzle.I was so annoyed I took the beef joint to my local butcher & he said it definitely wasn't a rib eye but a cheap cut rolled..Full of grizzle & couldn't cut one steaks out of it.Dont waste your money even if it looks cheap.There is a reason & that is cos it will go in the bin.When I complained they suggested I froze it & sent it back to let them see it.So that will be 3 times thawed.😡😡😡 I don't like getting ripped off & will keep posting reviews until they put it right.I paid for a fresh whole rib eye 3kg & 3kg of fresh lamb steaks so that's what I expect delivered not thawed out rubbish I wouldn't feed the dog.

I recently purchased 2 whole beef fillets. 1 was very good but when I cut the second up it contained a lot of gristley fat in the chateaubriand which was mostly inedible even after trimming wasn't much left even for stir fry.
I reported it but my comments were mostly ignored, sent photos but apparently their butcher said it was marbling!!! I couldn't cut through with a knife let alone teeth
Last e mail ignored.
Didn't want to leave a bad review but they failed to respond to the problem.

Do not buy from this company they said they had delivered my order the delivery guy said he had rang the ring doorbell (which he hadn’t) then he said he left the raw meat at the front door which busy traffic and a really warm day. Absolutely disgusting, when we contacted the company they said they believed their driver rang the doorbell so I sent in the proof.
They have still took the money and still have no meat but judging by the reviews I’m glad I’ve not ate the meat. We will be reporting to trading standards.

i purchased £99 on meat when it was on offer to spend over £75 and get £30 of chicken free never got the chicken and was fobbed of with them saying it was a typo error. then no reply to my emails.

Ordered a tomahawk to basically trialling
And had it today
Absolutely banging
Loads of meat on it and I mean loads
Will definitely order regularly

I ordered a cote de boeuf and a rack of ribs. The cote was tough and sinewy and in my opinion was not a cote. The ribs were in a horrible marinade and came in 3 pieces. When I ordered this, the rib’s description did not mention marinade - it does now. So at least that bit of the advertising is accurate. But they should also say that the ribs may come in pieces, which, to be fair no one would want. As for the cote, it was vile.
Customer service weren’t too bothered. I suppose you get what you pay for. I won’t be troubling them again.

Waste of money never again

Received my Goliath steak , very well packed with ice pack.what a great pice of beef ,it just fell apart when cutting it was beautiful, very tasty, good value for money,I liked it so much I've ordered 3 more

Got an order from malpas farm shop a few weeks ago supposedly to be fillet steak it was lean middle cut eg stewing steak the quality was absolutely shocking I contacted the farm shop and they said that it was a mistake so they offered me a 50 pounds voucher so we ordered 2 gaucho steaks when it arrived the kill date was December 2023 and use by date was 4th April 2024 it defrosted bye the time we got the product when I opened the meat oh my god what absolute mess my grand kids would have made a better job of butchering it and the steak was from Uruguay with no plant number shocking bye the way I am a retired butcher I had to bin the whole order total waste of money

Ordered tomahawk, picania, and ribeye joint.
The ribeye joint was not as advertised instead was a very soft and bad smelling entrecôte of beef which was not fit for human consumption. The label read entrecôte frozen beef from Uruguay freeze date 03/01/24 arrived to me defrosted on 8/8/24 . All customer service wanted was photo so I retrieved from bin and submitted still said not enough evidence to compensate so keep away and use your local butcher.

We ordered an assortment of steak it initially didn’t arrive We were taking it away with us in a couple of days so I emailed them Michael replied promptly & he went far beyond what would normally be excepted to help & we are having our delivery tomorrow so it can come with us We have used them before & the quality of the steak has been excellent & such good value

Recently found Malpas, sadly a short honeymoon!

Yesterday opened their sealed pack of bar b q pork ribs , in date and were refrigerated as soon as we received the meats , they smelt terrible, e mailed Malpas not at all impressed with their customer service, no explanation or offer of a refund, goodbye Malpas.

Meat was under-weight, which as far as I know is illegal.
Very bloody meat. Looks like it'll be tougher than hiking boots.
Cowboy steaks look dissapointingly GREY!
I don't think I'll trust on-line Butchers again.

Bad experience, the meat was tough, very bloody, like thick blood - Unlike any meat experience I have ever had. Contacted customer service twice by email and also by phone with no success or even the courtesy of a response.

Ordered 3 different cuts of beef for my very first order.
Tomahawk x 2 Rump x 6 Ribeye x 6.
Arrived 3 days late not a worry.
We unpacked and tried the Rump, described as Scotch prime rump, tough is not strong enough a description, we gave up half way through and gave remainder to my dogs who's teeth are 64 years younger than mine and they still had trouble. Supermarket stakes are far superior.
To be fare we have not tried the Ribeye or the Tomahawk to date. I will add to review when we do.
I guess the meat is not hung for a period necessary to tenderise the meat, it was bleeding like hell.
We had the Ribeye's tonight, Although tender it was very stringy, steak varied in thickness, some parts over cooked. I am hoping the Tomahawks are better. I will not be returning my custom to this company.

Update: I now have tried all the different cuts of meat and all are substandard and do not fit the company descriptions. I have again contacted Malpas and asked for a comment, but alas they are silent. Safe bet would be to avoid. Sorry Malpas I hate doing this, but it is the truth.

Used to be wonderful! Meat fresh good quality would always order from Malpass, my last order was 3-4 days late when I opened it it stunk awful … had to throw it all away, was told order with us again and we will give you a discount, no thanks

You get a tiny joint of beef !
Would have been better off paying the bit extra at aldi for a beef joint

Do not bother with them, since they have been sold customer service is rubbish.
First order I had to chase and chase bit thought maybe because its just changed hands I would give them the benefit of the doubt.
How wrong was I !!
Ordered a delivery on Sunday supposed to be here Wednesday, it's now Thursday night and no delivery and surprise surprise no answer to my emails.
Shocking disappointing terrible customer service.

Used these 4 times now.

Good products:
Faultless burgers (need seasoning but very good quality meat)
Chicken thighs
Rump and fillet steak.

Average:

The butterfly lamb - not particulalry good quality or price vs a mainstream supermarket.

Disappointing:

Sausage are not great quality - appear to be a high non meat bulking and akin to a Richmond sausage. Try and you will see.

The peripheral products e.g cheeses. Not interesting OR keenly priced. Take a look to see what I mean.

I would order again - they are good for volume products but not universally - but overall good.
