The courses Maddog Adventures run are not only well organised, structured, and educational, they are immense fun and even the most novice of attendees soon find themselves completely invested in the experience. The experience, passion, and commitment of the entire MDA team shine through at all times and create (in my opinion), a truly unique experience for anyone (at any level), that want to get out into nature and learn explore the great outdoors safely.

Attended the two day navigation Course in the Brecon Beacons over the weekend... absolutely epic! Delivered with the usual knowledge and passion about the subject and in a way that everyone came away with vital skills to help expand their abilities to safely go further off the beaten track.

You'll come away realising that navigation is more than just being able to use a map and compass to see which direction you should be heading!

This is an outdoor adventure and training company second to none. Imagine yourself on that outdoor adventure you've always promised yourself, whether that be in the forest, jungle or in the arctic circle. who would want to be surrounded by? you would want a group who are well trained, knowledgeable and friendly. That is exactly what you get with Maddog Adventures...Tier one organisation, Oh and they have a brilliant triangle player on staff. If your thinking about an adventure ...go for it!

Had an amazing and insightful weekend of learning. I learnt many new skills and many things I would never had thought of in preparation of a jungle expedition. All the information that was given was easy to understand and was very interesting, I had a great time

We recently had the pleasure of a bespoke weekend course with Maddog Adventures, designed specifically for our team at Topo Solutions — and I can honestly say it was one of the most valuable training weekends we’ve done.

From the outset, Marc was incredibly professional, grounded, and intentional in his delivery. Every part of the course felt carefully considered, tailored not just to our goals as a team, but also to our individual skill levels and learning styles. His depth of knowledge — across bushcraft, survival, mindset, and team dynamics — was seriously impressive.

What stood out most was how thoughtful and measured his approach was. Marc brought a calm, experienced energy to the whole weekend, fostering a supportive and respectful environment where everyone could challenge themselves without ego or pressure. The course was intense in all the right ways, but always felt safe and well-managed.

There was a real emphasis on building confidence through competence, and the whole team left feeling more capable, better connected, and excited to put the skills into practice. We had great discussions, solid progression, and plenty of time to reflect — which felt really intentional.

As a team working in high-pressure and remote environments, we hold our training partners to a high standard. Maddog Adventures delivered across the board, and we’d absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for something meaningful, professional, and real.

Two years ago, I made the questionable decision to follow a business called Maddog into the Langkawi jungle.
It turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made – second only to not eating that gas station sushi in 2014.

The jungle trip was nothing short of spectacular.
Think Indiana Jones meets Bear Grylls, but with less Hollywood drama and more actual sweating.
By the end, I smelled like a wild animal and felt like one too, in the best possible way.
They didn’t just show me the jungle, they threw me into it (metaphorically… mostly) and made me love every muddy, leech-infested, soul-cleansing second of it.

The Maddog team are part guide, part therapist, part wilderness wizard.
They helped me discover parts of the jungle I’d never find on a map, and parts of myself I didn’t know existed (turns out I have a weird talent for climbing vines and existential reflection).

Two years on, I still think about that trip.
I’m itching to go back , to push harder, hike further, sweat more impressively, and maybe, just maybe, make peace with the spider the size of my hand that still haunts my dreams.

If you want a holiday where you lie by the pool sipping overpriced smoothies, this isn’t it.
If you want an adventure that slaps your comfort zone in the face and then gives you a high-five, this is it.

Book it. Bring bug spray. Prepare to meet the jungle, Maddog style.

Would thoroughly recommend Maddog Adventures. Highly professional and knowledgeable. I attended an event led by Marc in the Lake District and he made sure everyone was fully briefed on what we were doing. He explained everything clearly and absolutely knows his stuff. The event was fun and a challenge but everyone felt safe at all times. All in all an amazing and rewarding weekend with great people using this amazing company.

A friend recommended Marc’s Mad Dog Adventure courses to me when she realised I was no longer going hiking because I lacked the confidence to go alone after the end of my marriage.
I only wish I’d heard about them sooner.

I booked on to an overnight expedition in the Lake District where MDA supplied the
Tarp and tent pegs and we carried all we needed for the night and “wild camped”

I was apprehensive at first, I didn’t know anyone else in the group but I needn’t have worried. Everyone was very friendly and Marc struck the balance perfectly between ensuring he shared his knowledge and not being patronising to those, like me, who had limited knowledge. He was very professional and approachable.

When setting up camp Marc taught us how to tie our Guy lines and I really struggled to get mine done. Marc offered to do it for me as he could see I was getting frustrated. I declined and explained I wanted to be able to do it myself. Marc fully respected my feelings and patiently sat with me demonstrating again and then talking me through it multiple times until it “clicked” in my mind how to do it. His insight into the importance of supporting me to do it in my own time is something I am both impressed with and extremely grateful for.
Especially as a single woman who had previously just had to accept that my Husband would always do a task like this wether I had wanted to learn or not. As a female who had recently gone through a horrific marriage break up, being treated with respect is a huge deal for me, so when a man with the depth and level of experience in outdoor adventures is willing to sit with you and teach you the most basic of things with not even a hint of frustration when you ask them to show you just one more time, that is something you don’t forget. It wasn’t his teaching either - everyone else managed it, I just had some sort of mind block on this particular technique.

Marc saw each client as an individual and took a holistic approach to his role. He could see my independence mattered a lot to me.

Marc told us that his main role as an expedition leader was to ensure we got up and down the mountain safely, but I have to say Marc goes above and beyond this, he adapted to the individual needs of those within the group, he was approachable, respectful, and I felt like I was in safe hands the entire time we were out on the Fells with him. He had clearly done his research and knew the area and the terrain well. He was flexible when those of us who were “bagging Wainwrights” asked to incorporate a couple and bounded off like excited puppies on a short detour of a few a 100m to bag a couple of extra fells that were just off the main route.

I have since gone on to use some of the skills that I learnt that weekend and I would not hesitate to recommend Marc’s courses to anybody who wants to improve on the basics or go the whole hog and enjoy an adventure in a far more challenging environment.

I’m personally looking forward to the next time I can get my boots on and head out on another Mad Dog Adventure.

I joined Marc and his team on a couple of weekend events prior to going to the jungle with him. On one of the weekends I was able to bring my 9 year old son along. The weekends were fantastic fun for both me (52 at the time) and my son. So relaxed, informative and fun. Camping out, cooking on fires and just being outside. What was completely obvious and inspiring is Marc's (and his team) love of being outside themselves and passing on knowledge to enable people, of any age, to do it themselves. Maddog adventures have a unique ability to make people feel confident in what they are doing!!
One of the absolute highlights, and I'm not exaggerating, of my life has been joining Maddog adventures on a jungle trip. I feel that I could write a book about it.
All I can really say is, JUST DO ONE you will not regret it.

I was quite apprehensive about attenting a maddogadventures corse at first....but that feeling soon left!! Even during the build up to the Jungle prep course I attended. I was able to have contact with the team to speak about things that needed to be done and things to expect and be prepared for. They are incredibly knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. The jungle prep course was everything I felt I needed to prepare me for the upcoming expedition in Langkawi! Being in the jungle with the team and all the new people I met was the most incredible and rewarding experience ive had in my life!! The people ive met through Maddog are not just that!! They're now people i call close friends.... 6 of us from the jungle exped recently attended another expedition together. I personally think that speaks volumes about MDA.. You'll be welcomed educated and treated kindly and an added bonus is you'll end up meeting like minded people and be able to continue to explore your passion with..If I could give more than 5 stars i 100% would!! Life changing experience. Strongly recommend for anyone looking to gain more knowledge meet new people and get out of your comfort zone and thrive in places not many could.. Thankyou to all the team at MDA you prepared and set on the right path!

Well organised, safe and super fun. No matter age or background or experience MDA will give you all you need for the adventure of a lifetime.

Recently completed a Jungle and Remote Island Survival Expedition. The lead up to the expedition was extremely well organized, plenty of communication and pre training. The 2 week event was an absolutely unforgettable experience that will live in my memory. A highly professional company, I highly recommend Mad Dog Adventures!

Had a brilliant time in Langkawi. Mark and the guys at Maddog adventures were very helpful and made the experience. It was the best trip ever, and have made some friends for life. Would definitely recommend.

Maddog Adventures is a highly professional team who don't just teach and instruct these courses. Many being veterans of the armed services they have lived through what they teach. I was their first paying client in 2017 and I'm still going on adventures with them in 2024. The courses are run in a very friendly manner and when it's time to chill around the campfire you will laugh so much you just can't wait to get back around that campfire.

What an amazing experience. If you want to learn skills that will help you survive one day when the only option either by choice or by circumstance is to prepare your own meat to eat then this is for you. They do other courses too. Friendly, supportive and relaxing full hands on but guided by ex military that have done it themselves and know their craft and get pleasure from sharing it with you. You're in a private wood that isn't far from civilization but by mid morning you feel you've left the rest of the world behind. From novice like me and the curious wanting to try it up to refresher training before you commit to your own adventure, or just for the experience, leap in but my advice is learn to map read first to find it. Google wont help you!

Just had an amazing weekend with Maddog Adventures on their Big Game Prep Course. The location and setting is excellent, the atmosphere is relaxed so you can really enjoy the experience and environment. The Maddog Team are really experienced and create a fun learning environment and the specialist they collaborate with are brilliant. If you’re looking for an experience to connect with nature and the outdoors you will love this. I have attended a number of weekend adventures with Maddog and keep going back for more. Whether you’re new to the outdoors or an experienced survivalist they have something for everyone.

I participated to the Jungle skills course and it exceeded my expectations. I found a team of very passionate and expert instructors. I learned a lot while enjoying my time in a safe and friendly environment. I will join for sure Maddog adventures in other courses in the future!
