Lola's - Lola's Selfridges Birmingham Recensioni

I was surprised with a cake from Lola on my 25th birthday, and it was one of the best cakes I’ve had in a long time. From the creamy buttercream frosting to the filling, I highly recommend their cakes for any event or celebration.

Best cakes I’ve had so soft and fluffy I just love the taste of them! Not too sweeet also :)

Wide range of flavours and nice cake mix. Not dry.

No issues, smooth process of ordering and pick up.
Cake was delicious and looked amazing

FAO the Area Manager:
The manager - "Penny", needs an attitude adjustment. When you are serving customers, you don't simply walk off and ignore them. While I was asking about the different ranges of cakes that were on display, “Penny” decided to just walk off to the other side of the counter and started sweeping the floor, messing with the tills etc. Not only is “Penny” rude, but she doesn't take responsibility for her poor behaviour. When I challenged her about this, she resorted to being sarcastic, replying: "Sorry that you feel that way…" Maybe she has spent most of her life being disingenuous so she is unable to differentiate between a genuine apology and sarcasm. I am not sure if “Penny” understands that she actually needs people-skills, when interacting – on a daily basis, with the public. I got the feeling that she seemed to think that it wouldn’t have made a difference if I made a complaint to the head office about her. I was the first customer of the day (22/8/25) – so just imagine how she spoke to the other customers and her staff... I will add that this is not the first time that I have received a less than favourable service from this branch – but then, “Penny” is the manager isn’t she... Order your cakes from the online store, so that you don’t have to deal with this emotionally stunted individual - her attitude stinks.

I also took the time to read some of the other reviews and it is clear that professionalism is lacking in this establishment. I have also contacted the head office to make them aware that "Penny" needs an attitude adjustment. I shouldn't have to leave a review about my experience, but people like "Penny", think that you should tolerate their disrespect.

Very happy with frozen theme cake. Loved it delicious. Truly memorable for my little one and her friends to feast upon.

Absolutely delicious cake with rich chocolate frosting.
Definitely ordering again.

Honestly, I always get positive feedback everytime I order a cake from Lola's. My daughter's 16th was made extra special with family including her cousins only because it was a Lola's Cupcakes kind of birthday. Never go wrong with the taste, design, softness of the sponge & sweet memories.

Great service when I collected. The cake was boxed and bagged really well which made it easy to transport. Overall appearance and taste was fantastic, everyone in our party enjoyed it

I love Lola’s and when o go to my town centre I always pop in to get one of the cupcakes or slice of cakes. They so delicious and fresh

I got the delivery for one day and I emailed and amended this for the next day. Very easily. Great service and cake was very easy to pickup. Thank you!

The cake was amazing. Pick was easy too just not happy with being charged for picking the cake up that’s the reason for the 4 ⭐️ otherwise would’ve been 5.

Lovely cake have been buying from Lola’s for years have noticed sizes are getting smaller

Delicious cake. A little expensive but worth it.

I am totally satisfied with the service

Love Lolas cakes,
Tiramisu flavour has real mascarpone icing like how it should be and not cream or cream cheese like most cheaper versions by others.

The cake is always amazing .

I would like to take this opportunity to pass on my sincere thanks to your staff who served me today, (Wednesday 23rd July). The staff that served me were Simran and her colleague, (did not capture colleagues name).

They were both polite, professional, helpful and in short are a massive asset to your organisation.

They have both made a lasting impression and deserve the highest amount of praise and reward for their efforts.

Most retail staff just go through the motions when serving you, but Simran and her colleague went beyond and really were knowledgeable about your product range. I ordered 5 small cakes for a birthday present, and they professionally prepared my order, and I want to thank them for their efforts.
