Unscrupulous business practices
We've been a client for years, and during contracting had always added a "no auto-renewal" clause as is our standard practice. Then last year during re-contracting Lokalise silently removed this term, and then when we went to cancel (80 days is advance of renewal) they are telling us that actually we have no auto-renewal clause and oh it's a 90-day notice period to cancel (which is manifestly excessive). They also did not reach out ahead of time to discuss the contract, clearly hoping in bad faith that we (and other clients) miss the notice period window and get locked in against our will. Given our prior working relationship we hoped accomodations could be made, however they basically said F-you it's your problem not ours, too bad. As a result, I'm writing this review and highly advise avoiding ever working with them.
Beware of the 90 Day Notice Period
We'd been using this service for a number of years without issue, but our renewal price more than doubled so we decided to move elsewhere. We were then unable to cancel within 90 days of the end of our yearly subscription, forcing us to stay on a hugely inflated price. At no point during our earlier conversations about price increases with multiple representatives, where we clearly said we will leave, did they inform us of this clause. Yet, we have yet to be shown a copy of the agreement that we agreed to containing this clause.
Shady business practises. Find one of the many far cheaper alternatives. Avoid.
Stay away
Terrible business practices with forced price increase, 90-day termination notice, pricing extremely and intransparent (unlimited keys but they bill you for every word edited, even manual ones).
Don't get tempted by AI features, they are both subpar and overpriced.
Cancel subscription is broken, billed against our will

We evaluated Lokalise for a large-scale translation project, and although we ultimately went in a different direction for this project, I have to commend their team on the experience. The support was fast, flexible, and genuinely hands-on. Our account manager took the time to understand our specific use case and went above and beyond to provide tailored resources and connect us with the right people. Communication was impeccable throughout the entire process. If you're looking for a translation management platform backed by a team that truly cares about finding the right fit for your needs, Lokalise is well worth considering.
Harassing People In Mails
They sent me an email saying that I was being lazy and relaxing on the beach. I though it was one of my freelancing jobs but when I opened the email, i saw that it was one of these disrespectful sites I came here for a review. If you cant respect your early customers you wont ro your own. They see you like money, they dont even care about making an API that is understandable. You cant just delete your account too.
Bait and switch
Fell for the old/new pricing bait and switch.
We signed with them 3 months ago, to then be told that unfortunately we are suddenly on a "old" pricing plan which unsuprisingly doesnt have the features/functionality that we need, and this would be another $8K annually

I've been using Lokalise for about 5 years as a localization manager, and everything seems good to me. I might not use all of its features in my work, but here are the key upsides I'd like to share:
The interface is user-friendly. It's quite easy to find anything I need, as well as to handle all 40 languages on the platform, they are well shown on a single page.
The support team is great. They are always ready to help, respond quickly. I've never had any issues when interacting with the support team of lokalise.
It's very convenient to use the lokalise grammar checker which really helps not to miss mistakes or any other moments. As well as the issue notifier in general.
Lokalise is the perfect fit for our organization
It's intuitive and easy to use which makes onboarding our external translators and internal team members super efficient. Several integrations and automations are available. LokaliseAI is easy to implement and integrate into our workflows. Customer Support is fast, reliable and knowledgeable.

As a developer, working with internationalization can often be a tedious task, but Lokalise transforms it into an enjoyable experience. It not only simplifies the process but also ensures that end-users find the UI intuitive and straightforward when managing their translations.
I interact with Lokalise daily, serving both as a developer and as support for our Marketing department. We leverage Lokalise for internationalization across all our frontend solutions, including Next.js, React.js, and React Native, utilizing it in three distinct ways:
Next.js Integration:
Our Next.js website seamlessly integrates with Lokalise through a webhook I established for each domain. This setup ensures that any changes made by our franchise users are reflected on the website within approximately 10 seconds. The webhook integration with the Next.js API was flawless and remarkably straightforward. Additionally, the use of the useTranslation() hook allows effortless implementation of translations in code on a daily basis.
React.js Setup:
In our React.js applications, we primarily use Lokalise for storing all text content, currently in English. We anticipate undertaking a comprehensive localization of this application in the future, and I am confident Lokalise will facilitate this process smoothly. Currently, we lack server-side API routes to trigger webhooks and update stored translations on the client side. I am eager to explore solutions to this challenge beyond simply rebuilding and redeploying the project.
React Native Usage:
For our React Native application, we employ App Center to deliver small in-app updates to users whenever a translation changes. This approach ensures that the latest translations are promptly available to our users.
Overall, Lokalise significantly enhances our workflow, making internationalization not only manageable but also efficient and precise. I highly recommend it for any team seeking to streamline their translation processes.
For our franchise solution, we require different variants for texts, such as English, to cater to various needs. While we leverage our headless CMS solution for this effectively on the web, it is less intuitive within our app. In the app, we are compelled to create multiple sub-versions of each locale in Lokalise, leading to a potentially cluttered multilingual view.
Additionally, some franchise users experience difficulty in understanding the use of {{brackets}} for dynamic variables within the text. This misunderstanding occasionally results in UI bugs that go unnoticed for a time. It might be beneficial to explore more user-friendly methods for handling dynamic variables to enhance usability and prevent errors.
