The actual will part was very good, however,there was a very aggressive sales pitch for lasting power of attorney. I see the importance of lpas but you can't be pressured into making quick decisions about such matters. You have to make sure the person or persons you choose will actually carry out your wishes and they have to be aware of what it entails for them. Also the person who called was asking personal questions about my finances. When I asked why they were relevant and necessary for making a Will, she said "well you don't have to give answers to those questions" As I say, the actual will element was good.

The process was so easy from start to finish, telephone appointments were on time, clarity of information and a very quick turnaround. Was kept up to date all the way through with texts and emails.

Well I was a bit doubful about doing my will on line but oh my goodness these people are good,reliable,helpful,curteous and very efficient.

After my will was completed and stored in the summer, I requested to make amendments and they were actioned straight away.

While I hoped to avoid writing a negative review, I feel it is important to warn other customers based on our recent experience with Secure Legacy.
My husband previously outlined our situation, but we were particularly disappointed by the company's automated response, which claimed, "This certainly doesn't align with our usual service standards." Looking at the reviews—including 4-star ratings and below—this unfortunately appears to be a regular pattern. The majority of 5-star reviews seem to be for standard will-writing services, which went smoothly for us as well with clear pricing and no hidden charges. However, issues consistently arise with additional services marketed alongside the will.
We opted for the Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) service, which was sold as a complete package where only witness signatures remained. Crucially, we were never informed about nearly £400 in additional registration fees. Furthermore, we were not told that all replacement attorneys had to sign in front of the exact same witness—a major logistical challenge since one attorney lives miles away, and another is under 18. This falls far short of a 5-star standard.
We were also frustrated by Secure Legacy’s response to my husband's review, claiming there was insufficient information to locate him, despite his full name being provided on the review.
When we requested a refund, we were informed that the 14-day cancellation window had passed. However, we paid for the will storage service at a much later date, and our refund request for that specific component was made well within the 14-day period. Instead of addressing this, an employee simply hung up the phone.
When my husband called the number on this website, he was promised a callback by the person who answered his review by which never happened.
This company is efficient when collecting payments, but severely lacking in customer support and transparency when handling client concerns. Just avoid them.

You can absolutely locate me in your system. My name is unique in this country, so it would not be difficult to identify my account and the transaction involved.

Your response makes it very clear to me that you simply don’t care about your customers. I understand that I’m unlikely to get any money back from you, but that’s no longer the point.

I’m leaving this review to warn other people not to fall for the upsells. My advice would be to stick with the will and avoid paying extra for the additional services.

Fast efficient and professional service

I found organising my will through Secure Legacy a breeze, my enquiry resulted in a telephone appointment with a notary, the conversation with the notary was excellent setting out my wishes that would form my Will. I was kept up to date via emails and eventually received a confirmation certificate which stated my Will had been finalised and retained on their database.

I originally just wanted to do a will for my wife and myself. This was pretty reasonably but we were then pushed to do lasting power of attorney for both of us. Although a little pricey considered we were in the market for only a Will, we thought let’s gets it done. The only additional thing was that we were to supply named witness details.

We received no written correspondence until our draft Will and LPA were ready to be reviewed. We made minor spelling changes. At this point we decided to take the lifetime storage option so paid for this.

The documents arrived and while looking at them it became clear that the 4 LPA documents would require an additional £92 each to register. This was never mentioned at the time of telesale. Having known an additional £368 was required we would have never considered undertaking a LPA.

On discovering this I emailed to say this constitutes a misleading omission under the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations. I have been mislead and would like a refund of the LPA.

Although this was over 14 days, clear and compliant pre-sale documentation regarding my statutory cancellation rights was not provided, my right to cancel is extended by law under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

As the lifetime storage payment was within 14 days I would like this refunded too.

Instead of receiving a documented email reply I received a phone call saying that I was outside of 14 days and there was nothing I could do, despite being in breach of regulation and the storage fees were within 14 days of payment.

As for not receiving written terms of cancellation as required, she just said that on my email of the draft documents there is a link to their website and I was expected to find the terms and conditions. Basically in a tiny link at the bottom of the page. However reading these, if your draft has been done then you are not entitled to refund. So essentially the first time you are sent the terms of cancellation you are not eligible for a refund as your draft has been done.

So if you want a will writing service they do deliver but be warned the pushy sell for LPA and it will cost you an additional £92 each to register and you will most likely need the financial and medical LPA

We were initially a little sceptical about approaching Secure Legacy, but after speaking with Theresa and the other team members found the process seamless and easy to follow.
Although they did recommend additional options, they did understand and accept that we had clearly been thinking about this for some time and acknowledged that we knew what we needed. There was never any pressing or guilt trips; just honest and direct advice and we are now sorted in less than 2 weeks.

The lack of respect and rudeness caused me to cancel the Will. After being called with 2 persons that showed understanding and politness I have decided to continue with your company.
I was in Marketing and Sales for over 50 years, my staff was trained to Listen, be polite and helpful.
Never, Never would I continue to employ a member of my staff who blatantly lied to a client and pushed hard selling.

Your company needs to review how your staff behave on the telephone or you will lose business and receive bad reviews.
