This company has failed

I was sold this on the feed in tariff of 11cents. 4 months later they decrease it to 6cents, a pathetic amount, while also increasing the grid price at the same time. So i sell it to you at a lower price than before, and you sell it back to me at a higher price than before? Don't tell me it's about wholesale costs or any of that crap when the proof is in those numbers - What a scam.

My battery recharges from the GRID during the night, which defeats the purpose. I only want my battery to recharge from the solar. If my battery is empty, just use the grid. My battery will refill when the sun comes up. Don't try to say it's load balancing, I've watched this occur multiple nights in a row, for way longer than should be needed. Load balance from the panels then!

I've tried to explain this to support and all they say is "your system is working fine" and send a screen shot of the current usage, as if that means anything. The system is "working" but the setup is completely in favour of social energy. It's obvious that they want my battery to be full so that they can use it for their virtual power plant at any time they want, and only pay me a capped amount for the pleasure. They will only pay me for the first 300kw in a 3 month period for the VPP, after that they can take what they want and not pay me anything. I've asked them for the algorithms for why and how the system decides when to charge from the grid, and have been ignored.

At 9pm tonight my battery is at 85%. I'm monitoring the app.... The battery is being recharged from the grid, and the grid is running my house using 900w. Why isn't my battery currently powering my house? THAT'S THE ENTIRE POINT.

At no point in the sale did the rep even mention the virtual power plant. They are happy to tell me all about the higher feed in for the first 300kw then the competitive feed in after that, but they literally didn't mention it was for a virtual power plant. I assume it was in the fine print somewhere after i signed up, so i let them have that one (scumbags). But i didn't realize just how much they would be using. And to reiterate, that capped 300kw is their way of being able to use as much as they want from your battery at any time, and make bank off of YOUR power generation.

This company is a scam. If it's not a scam, then it's the most incompetent failure of an energy company I've ever seen. I want my money back. I genuinely want them to come and remove the batteries and give me my 11 grand back. They originally said that the system would pay for itself after 6 years, giving me at least 4 years of pure profit. At this rate though it will not pay for itself before the batteries no longer work, or it's out of warranty and breaks down.

Now comes the template style response about them being sorry that i am not happy with how my battery is working (notice how they imply that it is you, the customer, who is too stupid to understand that this is how it is meant to work?). They will request more info to be able to look into the matter, then nothing will happen. They will hide behind the fine print, knowing full well that consumers have no options. You want the battery? You belong to us now.

You should be ashamed of yourselves. This is not the energy revolution. This is greed, manipulation and deceit through and through.

Avoid social energy at all costs

Avoid social energy at all costs. It's been 9 months since I started the process to get solar and battery installed. They finally installed the panels. Which didn't match the images they sent. I was sold I was getting 400w panels. They installed 330w then said I should have never been told I was getting 400w panels. No apology or any kind of compensation. I got the interest free loan, which since expired since I first went through a very painful process to get. Now I had to re sign up and it's $3000 more than the original loan... Not to mention the phone calls.... I'm work so can't answer but they just keep calling once every 30 minutes, like they have nothing better to do. They said the best place to put the battery was under my carport but didn't explain they then had to put bollards in front of them. inspector had a look and currently the panels aren't even working like they should. So still waiting for another visit from the inspector. Been a long painful process and if I could just say take the crap off my roof and never call me again I would. Avoid social energy at all costs. Such a dodgy crappy company.

I don't want to make excuses, but provide some reasons why you may have had a delay. Like a lot of business working in Solar, we hit some procurement challenges at the back end of 2021, it is safe to say we didn't share this and got it wrong into the new year along with updating you on finance options.

They will send all you energy to grid and you foot the bill

I send alot of energy to the grid. I actually paid more in a month with a battery then without a battery with a different power company last year during winter. I rang to inform them of the problem and the operator didn't understand how the system works. He then tried telling me the battery was running fine. not realizing I was rang by someone else who said it wasn't. I believe they where trying to cover up what they where doing which was selling all my power at peak times and my battery would be drained before the night started. they also keep you on a flat rate which is disgusting.

when you don't concentrate on keeping the customer happy they leave. and a 50 percent rise in daily charge and 4.75 less in solar intake is not okay.

When power prices are going up and your making more money off me I should be getting paid more.

Perfect online help.

We've had a solar energy storage battery for the last 2-3 years and it needs to be connected to the wi-fi, so recently when we changed broadband providers it went offline and it wasn't obvious how to get it back on again; anyway one quick email to Social Energy for help and within 20 minutes the very helpful Stevie-M came back with quick and easy instructions. It's now all up and running perfectly. Well done!..............Love the new app, it's very informative, so much more interesting than the old one.

I have given them one star because communication is desperate, on here people appear to be talking to them over the phone yet we can’t find a contact number anywhere and we still have questions over two years after instillation

Update …. Great response and assistance, so the star rating has increased

Absolutely abysmal Customer Service

Absolutely abysmal Customer Service - After 6 months of delays our Battery Installation was scheduled for Feb 2022 ... And then canceled.
Social Energy blamed the contractor ... 3 months later I have written off this company as a terrible example of the dodgy operators prevalent in our Solar Installation industry

Social Energy Delivers

After a lengthy delay to have the battery and solar system installed, it was the work of Jason King and Rebecca Smith who finally got things moving. They were both highly efficient and a pleasure to deal with.
The installers, Michael and Tom, arrived when they said they would and completed the install without any problems. Their workmanship is a credit to them both. I couldn’t be more satisfied to this point. I hope the system delivers the desired outcomes and my high electricity bills become a thing of the past.

I went back to her because I didn’t understand at first (my problem, not hers!) and she took the trouble to explain in a different way. Excellent customer support

Excellent customer support!

I had an issue with my Solar panel system wherein the battery and the panels went offline. I got in touch with customer support and they immediately responded by sending me an upgrade card. I was able to follow the steps with the Kieran on the phone and my system got back to normal instantly!

Requested some info about the solar batteries and got a quote. But I went with some other company and when I told the consultant this, he was very rude in terms of undermining my decision making and said very negatives things about my decision. Dreadful Service

We have been waiting for 8 months now for our solar to be installed as promised. Three times they made appointments and didn’t turn or ring to apologise. I rang every week for ages with no response. I finally got a response after leaving 3 bad reviews. Amit promised if I took my reviews down and they paid minimal compensation our solar would be working before we went away. That was 3 weeks ago. I recieved an email saying it had been done but they disconnected the spa. Why? I sent back an email and have rung with no answer. We had a spa when the job was quoted so why turn it off? We are still away and are concerned about the damage this will cause but as usual can’t get a reply. I would NEVER recommend Soial Energy
