Zero regrets in having Bilateral LASEK surgery with Laser Vision Scotland in their Ratho Park surgery location.
Results have been brilliant, a life changer and all processed relatively quickly after my initial consultation in Feb-23.
Experience has been professional and reliable scheduled by the admin teams throughout with my initial meeting with Catriona Kennedy to surgery with Sanjay Mantry. Surgery was completed very quickly and recovery was simple with valued aftercare being provided.
I am continuing to look forward to my glasses & contact lens free life.

My wife suddenly developed an eye problem. Victoria arranged an appointment within hours.
Walking into the hospital it was well decorated ( pre Christmas). From the initial contact with staff the visit was a very positive one. Throughout our visit they were very attentive and reassuring. The procedure itself was carried out with professionalism and compassion.

I was referred to Dr Andrew Tatham at Edinburgh Clinic for a cataract operation and glaucoma advice. He also discovered I had an infection from a NHS procedure. Cataract Operation was a complete success. Drops have helped pressure. Dr Tatham explains everything In simple terms. The staff at the clinic are all very helpful.

I had cataract surgery with Jonathan Ross at Spire Dalkeith. I had a trifocal lense put in and was warned I may still need a lower prescription pair of glasses. My care was excellent from the moment I arrived at reception to the moment I left. The nursing staff were friendly, attentive and efficient. The support staff were great including the cheery man who brought me a much needed pot of tea. Jonathan Ross and his team exceeded expectations. There was very little discomfort and the end result, after 3 days, is perfect distance and middle distance eyesight with reading glasses only for very small print or low lighting. I can't recommend highly enough

After carefully considering Laser Eye Surgery, and battling the market sales pitch from Optical Express, I was happy to find Laser Vision Scotland as they are entirely patient driven and engaged. They are in no way sales driven and gave me the reassurance of the right decision of surgery for me.

Even through COVID they managed to ensure everything was safe for myself and their team. They discussed my hobbies and job roles to determine the best procedure and agreed LASEK to be best option. After receiving LASEK I have found it to be life changing and the team always friendly and supportive.

I had the opportunity to provide feedback to Mr Mantry my surgeon which he was very keen to support and ensure a positive journey for myself and others. The fact I was able to speak to Mr Mantry out with surgery and go through feedback shows their motivation to keeping their patients happy.

Overall, my experience from meeting the Optometrist Catriona and the rest of the team it has been excellent standard!

I had Lens Replacement Surgery with Jonathan Ross as a permanent solution to my extreme short-sightedness.
The whole process from end to end was well organised, professional and pressure free.

The procedures were quick and pain/discomfort free, and had no detrimental effect on my day to day life immediately following the surgeries. I felt supported by the team during all steps of the process.

I feel like I have a new lease of life, not having to rely on glasses or contact lenses gives me so much more freedom, I feel fortunate that I have had the opportunity to make such a positive change.

If I were to give one piece of advice it would be to go all in and get the multifocal lenses, for the difference in price it is absolutely worth it!

It's now 9 months since I elected to have replacement lens surgery (RLE) at age 60. Mr Jonathan Ross was my consultant in late 2020 and I was hoping for glasses freedom for Christmas - Mr Ross and his team delivered. They were very professional and very humorous, putting me at ease as I was still unsure what to expect as regards the procedure. Honestly, after the first eye was done, my quip was that I'd like to do the other one now - it was that quick, painless and easy. A filling at the dentist is many times worse experience wise. The outcomes for me were as I'd hoped. Freedom from glasses for driving, VDU use, mobile phone use, distance use - all delivered to my satisfaction. I can't thank Mr Ross and his team enough.

I recently had operations for cataracts on both eyes at the Edinburgh Clinic. My situation was complicated as I had had eye surgery many years back and I was unsure as to how successful the operations would be in restoring my vision to a good level. I am delighted to say that my surgeon, Mr Jonathon Ross, rose to the challenge and I now have superb vision in both eyes. My thanks to him and the excellent team that work along with him.
The whole team was professional, highly skilled in their respective roles and succeeded in making my visits to the clinic, including the operations, a relaxed, pleasant, and even enjoyable, experience. The information and support given before, during and after the procedures was first class.

The treatment I had was a good experience. Good staff and efficient service. I am delighted with the result.

5 years ago I was told (whilst sitting in the operating chair at Optical Express in Glasgow) that I was not suitable for laser eye surgery. This was after having numerous consultations and examinations - all of which highlighted no issues or concerns until sitting in the operating chair. For the last 5 years I have wondered why this was, was this actually true? The whole experience seemed off to me.



Fast forward to the beginning of this year and I finally reached out to DR Jonathan Ross for a second opinion. The Edinburgh clinic was closed at the time, however we had a good conversation and he had arranged to see me once it was open.



At my consultation, I was assured that my eyes were more than suitable for LASEK. I was previously told that my cornea's were too thin.. this was not the case. In fact, they were above average thickness and I was shown all of my scans etc to prove this and keep my mind at ease. No sooner had I seen these, I had my operation date booked in.



The operation itself was totally painless and really quick, I was slightly nervous but DR Ross & the team helped me to stay calm (and still!)



Now the aftercare.....



For the first few weeks after my surgery I had a number of issues with the recovery - all totally normal for LASEK. Whether it be squeezing me in last minute to see me, leaving eye drops in reception for me to collect, answering the phone at all hours to answer any questions I had.. the aftercare from DR Ross, Catriona and the whole post op care team was incredible. I was never made to feel like I was being a nuisance (when I probably was).



It has now been 3 months since my surgery, I had my final follow up check-up with Catriona this morning and have now been fully discharged. I have 2x better than 20/20 vision and my life completely changed!



I could not recommend my experience with LVS any higher.

From the expert and realistic advice at the initial consultation through to completion of my surgery I consider myself privileged to have had such a professional team looking after me.

I now read, drive and play golf without glasses.

Really positive experience with the whole Laser Vision Scotland team. From the initial consultation all the way through the process the staff couldn't have been more helpful. I had refractive lens exchange surgery carried out by Mr Jonathan Ross at the start of July 2021. I went to the optician last week and I no longer need glasses - first time in over 30yrs! I had considered this surgery for a few years before going ahead. I was extremely nervous going in for my first operation but Mr Ross took time to reassure me and in fact the time in surgery was only 15 mins and not painful at all. Thank you so much for changing my quality of life.
