We have just spent over £600 on lights with this company. So far I've had two arrive. Ive only opened 1 box and looking at the quality is poor. So already emailed to request to return them all once the whole order arrives. Unfortunately I didn't read Trustpilot until today. We thought as theyre advertising as a UK company, this would be a safe purchase. Slightly deceiving. So we're already concerned about the refund we're requesting. Hopefully this won't be an issue so we dont have to contact our bank for a charge back.

Sadly I did not read these reviews before buying from this company based in China. If I could give them 0 stars I would.
There is nothing on their website to say they are based in China. They have bought a ".co.uk" domain and use "UK" in their name and .co.uk in their email address. There is no phone number to call.
They are dragging their feet about accepting a returrn that has arrived used and does not look like great quality.

Ordered 2 lights 25/08/25 only one arrived .
Still waiting the other …over a month !!
Customer service is shocking ….. passing the blame to Evri delivery company !
When you buy an item it’s from that company your contract is with the selling company not the delivery company ! That’s the sellers contact !
Next stop ombudsman. ! £100 lights not cheap !!! Save the hassle don’t touch this company !

Brilliant quality light fitting. My first order got lost in the post the customer service team were quick to send me out a replacement. I would definately use this brand again

Others complain about the shipping times which were as expected for me. The customer service was very responsive. I ordered two lights, and they shipped separately. I was missing the second light that stated it was delivered. I contacted the company, and received an immediate response by email. They promptly helped me locate the package. I feel the quality was what I paid for.

Lamps Modern offer a great range of lighting. We went for the Nordic Minimalist Glass Pendant and we are so pleased with it. The quality is amazing and so is the design. The installation was straightforward plus it has a guide which was easy to understand. Overall I would recommend Lamp Modern if you’re looking for lighting fixtures to make a statement.

This is an update from a former review. I ordered 2 identical green sconces. Finally, after a few months, I received 1 of the identical sconces. I had disputed the charge with AmEx since I had given up ever getting them. After 6 emails with LampsModern. LampsModern agreed to reimburse me for the sconce I never received. Since I have no need for the other sconce, I would like to send it back and get reimbused for both. They emailed NO, but offered to reimburse for the 1 sconce I never got. NOW, they are making excuses not to do that. I have email proof. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!! They have beautiful products, but they are NOT REPUTABLE.

We messed up the installation of the ceiling lights we bought and needed replacement parts. I contacted the team unsure whether I could get replacements and yep, they had them no problem and were super helpful in assisting me to make sure I had the correct ones. Then they even double checked that i had ordered the correct colour after I had made payment - I hadn't ordered the correct colour so that was perfect because I made the change before they shipped! would definitely recommend - the lights are so cute too! :o)

BEAWARE OF THESE THEY TRY TO SCAM YOU. Don’t fall victim like me.
I have reported to my credit card, as the lights arrived late and were VERY poor quality. When the customer team contacted me they told me to dispose them in recycling centre and they would refund me. But I had to show them pictures of them in recycling centre. They tryed to scam me, if I had off done that, the bank would not have been able to give me my funds back.
Just be aware if they ask you to do this, you won’t get your funds back.
This has been going on since June, as I have waited months for the lights to arrive.
After reading your reply,
I still haven’t received my refund, I have took this up with my bank. You have no interest to paying me back for your faulty products, which are appalling.

This company is a sham. The delivery times were long and quality of the items poor. 1 of the 3 items was damaged. I asked for a refund with no response. I asked for a replacement for the damaged one and there communication sucks. I order on the 13th July and it’s now the 28th August. They asked for photos of the damage and I sent jpeg photos of the goods. They said they could not open so I sent them via another source. I have emailed them every other day and got total silence from them.
I would never use this company again. I have spent a considerable amount of money and feel completely mislead and let down. In a word RUBBISH.

Placed an order for a light, assumed Light Modern were UK based. No acknowledgement of the order but payment taken immediately in the name of Ihomdiy which turns out to be a company based in China. No delivery of item in two weeks.Have asked paypal to try and get my money back

While the company offers a great selection of lights with attractive styles, the unit I received arrived completely flat-packed, not even partially assembled. Communication was slow, and it took an unreasonably long time to obtain the tracking number.
On inspection, there was no British Standard flex fitted, and the wiring appeared poor quality. I now have to pay my electrician to rewire the unit to ensure it meets British safety standards.
Overall, this has been a disappointing experience. For a company presenting itself as reputable, the number of negative reviews is concerning. I would strongly recommend the business reconsider its approach to product quality and customer service.

One star as I can’t leave zero
Do not order from this company I really don’t know where to start
Ordered 4no outside lights and 2no internal wall lights over a month ago recived 1no external light 2 weeks ago which was missing screws then the wall lights arrived which were both missing the back plates I’m still outside the remaining 3 external lights dispite numerous e mails in the end I asked them to cancel the order and arrange a refund to be told I would have to pay to return faulty goods of an incomplete order unbelievable
I have now recived the response below which was very prompt pity they were not the same via e mail just constant delay tactics , they have had the order number , photos and videos for a long time and still no refund the order no is LPUK24109

I reported to the comapny that the product was not working well after the installation for months. Then, the company sent me the replacement of the product. I do think the company is working hard to maintain the after sale service in a good standard. I appreciate that.

Dispatch is taking ages, I've been fobbed off with standard timelines, company isn't UK-based despite marketing itself as such. Not impressed.
Update: product eventually arrived but I had to keep asking for dispatch details, they don't send you any updates. Light was fine but ungodly bright. Overall quality is mediocre; my husband is a sparky and wasn't impressed. Glad we didn't pay full price but even then, not sure it was worth it; probably going to have to take it down and replace it with something that doesn't burn my retinas.
Customer service isn't great, but my experience wasn't as bad as others mentioned here

On July 27 I got a notice that my order had shipped via fedex. The email included a tracking number. Its been more than a week, and there is no sign of the order. Moreover, the tracking number is wrong or doesn't exist. I got an error message when I tried to use it and when I called Fedex they said it wasn't even the right format. REALLY disappointing.

I am leaving a one star review because I can't give no stars. Here we have a company passing it self off as British selling quality products with a guaranteed returns policy. What we have in reality is an online company based god knows where selling cheap Chinese products with no customer service. They expect you the customer to pay for the return to China. This is a clear case of misselling and I will be reporting to the relevant authorities.

I am trying to contact through the chat bot but this clearly is not a functioning service. The phone line isn’t either. The website leads you to believe it’s a legitimate UK based company but sadly this is not the case. I tried to contact as soon as I’d placed my order as I wanted to change or indeed cancel it.
Please can someone contact me and help me to cancel and claim a refund before the order is processed which it hasn’t been yet.

Be extremely careful when placing an order with this company. They have you of the mistaken belief that this is a UK based company when an actual fact it is a company that is trading outside of the British Isles. Products are being shipped from China and the O330 phone number ( supposedly ) make you believe that this is a UK company. For the benefits of doubt when you ring this number is It is an automated American lady that says all agents are busy and it does not lead you to an actual human being. I have purchased two lamps and have not received a tracking number or any estimated time of arrival. You are dealing with a Chinese company that portrays an image with all the whistle and bells on the website that looks extremely nice and makes you believe you are in good hands.
I have had no response from this company whatsoever when requesting a refund and cancelling my order.
