We worked with LACD for our bathroom renovation project in Belsize Park and had a very positive experience. We found them through our research as they are members of both the Federation of Master Builders and TrustMark, which gave us confidence from the start.

They provided a clear and detailed quotation, including helpful suggestions for value engineering and material choices. They also supported us with the procurement process—advising on quantities, order timelines, and even suggesting alternative or higher-quality products that we could source using their trade discounts.

Before starting, they shared a full work programme, including dates for noisy works, and even sent a courtesy letter to our neighbours to help minimise disruption. Throughout the project, the team kept the site and surrounding areas clean and tidy, which we really appreciated.

During demolition, they separated waste to improve recycling, and they also identified and resolved underlying damp and leakage issues in the bathroom. Their workmanship was excellent—new stud walls, plumbing, electrics, and high-spec finishes were all delivered to a very high standard, including some natural mosaic tiles we had sourced ourselves.

We ended up asking them to take on a few additional tasks elsewhere in the house, which they handled without issue. All the walls and ceilings in the bathroom were finished and decorated by LACD, and we’re very happy with the result.

We hired LACD to renovate our new home in early 2024. This was our first time working with a contractor.
Their quote was cheaper than the other quotes we received. Yasin and his team were punctual, and he didn't mind having long conversations with us about the work before and during the project. The team were generally polite and pleasant.
However, there were many little mistakes I wouldn't expect from an experienced contractor. They failed to account for the walls of the house not being perfectly vertical. A measuring mistake in the bathroom meant reworking the tiles and build out so our sink unit could still fit in, at our own expense. It was left slightly out of position, which we see now every day.
Despite the frequent communication, some work was not done following our instructions and when this was pointed out we were told it was too late to change it. This included very visual mistakes like the wall panelling being at the wrong height.
Some problems didn't show until months after the work. Our new floorboards separated significantly, leaving gaps. They were also soft pine wood, meaning the floors now scratch and dent easily. The new shed door expanded so much during winter it could no longer open, I suspect because it was not made from seasoned outdoor wood. I don't know if these material choices were because of cost or inexperience.
The painting work was done to an acceptable standard but needed two rounds of inspection and corrections from us. Other installation work for a new attic opening and built in wardrobe were done well.
We reached out to LACD about the later problems but received no response. I would not work with them again.
