I have drank and enjoyed Kenco Blue for 20 odd years. I can get on board with the shrinkflation as everyone is at it. But changing the content of the coffee into what is a disgusting bitter brown sludge is a big mistake. I have exhausted all the old supplies from places like B&M and Farmfoods where I could still purchase it ...until today. Today is the last day I will drink Kenco as im on the last cup.
You cant think you have made a good decision with this new recipe. I mean look at all the reviews here. Your new coffee is absolutely disgusting! You need to change it back.

We been customer of Kenco for all our lives! Not anymore I have to say I been just out to get myself an old fashioned coffee maschine and coffee grinder! We will not be seen anywhere a Kenco aisle in the supermarket! It has now a disgusting flavour !

new formula for Kenco rich is revolting - I thought I was ill and having a taste change issue, but then realised it was also leaving a residue of scum in the cup, and other people were complaining about it

In my opinion the new blend has ruined the taste. I recently bought a jar of smooth which has been my go to instant coffee for years. Unfortunately I couldn't finish the first cup. It was so awful, I threw the whole jar of coffee away. Stupidly I bought a jar of rich in the hope it would be better, but same awful taste and that ended up in the bin also. No more Kenco for me which is disappointing as it used to be great.

Have tried to liase on Facebook along with 100's of other unhappy but quite frankly they are oblivious.
Asking people to private message them to discuss but they have the option to do so turned off!
So let's try here ...

I'm all for change. Change can be good.
But changing the blend of my favourite coffee was NOT a good move.
I've been drinking Kenco for years, and whatever you've done to it, I'm sorry but it's absolutely vile.
In fact, it's so bad that I've actually reverted to drinking tea.

You've turned a lifelong coffee drinker into a tea drinker.
I'm feeling genuinely cheated.

Having purchased and enjoyed your Rich Coffee blend over many, many years, with no competitor coming anywhere close, I am so disappointed with your latest change to recipe. You have totally obliterated the great coffee taste and created a disgusting bitter brew that leaves behind a dark sludge in the bottom of each cup. You have effectively changed the "Rolls Royce" of instant coffee in favor of a decrepit mini (sorry, that's being disparaging to the mini). I won't be spending good money on this ever again! It was bad enough having to put up with price increases and shrinkflation but continued to buy it for what was an excellent coffee - alas all changed for the worst!

Whilst the addition of coffee grounds gives a stronger aroma when you first open the jar, this soon fades and you're left with an unpleasant sludge in your cup and a harsh, dry sensation in your throat.
This was one of the reasons I used to prefer Kenco over Gold Blend, which started adding grounds back into the instant coffee some years ago.
And then there's the shrinkflation...

Used to be my go to favourite instant coffee. They have now changed the recipe, no doubt to extract even greater profit from us, and they have made it disgusting. Seems to me like they have just added 10% dust from the factory floor to bulk each jar out. Awful taste, bitter and metallic, really unpleasant and not what you could ever describe as 'smooth'. I'm not just disappointed - I'm furious at the corporate greed and the gaslighting.

Here's why I am now boycotting Kenco, even if they reverse the recipe change:-

• **The Record Profits**: JDE Peet's announced massive global sales of over €8.2 billion recently, actively boasting to their shareholders about their "strong organic growth" and pricing power (read ability to gouge us).
• The Margin Squeeze: They didn't shrink the jars or switch to a cheaper "dust" formula because they were struggling. They did it to squeeze an extra few percentage points of profit margin out of their loyal customers to hand over to their board members and institutional investors.
• The Corporate Gaslighting: To take a product, actively make it worse by using cheaper processing methods, reduce the amount you get, and then claiming it is a "much-improved, richer blend" is pure, unadulterated corporate arrogance, greed and dishonesty, and I for one am sick of it.

Went in Sainsbury’s and asked why Kenco Original wasn’t on the shelf and they say it’s now ‘Americano’. So I buy a big tin of Americano, only to find it’s now a powder, not granules, and tastes like Nescafe. How many spoonfuls do I need to put in the cup before it even vaguely tastes like coffee?

Kenco what have you done to my coffee! I can’t believe you have changed the taste, I have drunk kenco coffee for as long as I can remember and for someone in their 60’s who drinks in excess of 10 mugs a day (I have reduced from 15mugs) I am now going to stop drinking kenco red as really do not like the new taste. Why would you change the taste, if you wanted a change bring out a new coffee not change my kenco smooth into a kenco bitter, so very disappointing…..

I have drank KENCO for a long time (the blue one ) it used to be a amazing strong enjoyable brew , I dont understand why Kenco have changed it. Its an awful brew now.

I have used Kenco Millicano Intense or Original (15% ground coffee) for many years but can no longer buy it anywhere. Seems to have been replaced by this new barista range. Tried the Americano, 5% ground coffee, no depth, doesn't even smell like coffee and the large size is 30g smaller than the original above. What an own goal. Will not buy Kenko again.

Have been using Kenco Rich for a number of years as I prefer a stronger cup of coffee. Unfortunately since buying the coffee with a red screw on lid the quality is disappointing. It tastes slightly bitter, is not as strong and leaves a residue in the cup or mug. Not the usual quality I expect from Kenco.

I am extremely disappointed in Kenco. I have enjoyed drinking Millicano Intense for many years and I have recommended it to friends and family. The recent unannounced rebranding and re-formulation means I will no longer be buying this product, as the taste profile has completely changed and sadly not for the better!

Disgraceful product.
Please Kenco, change your recipe back to how it was! I was almost sick at the last attempt to try and take to it. Whatever possessed you to make it taste like dishwater. I so looked forward to my first mug of the day and now it's like medicine.
Get your act together Kenco..... Please!!!

I have drank kenco coffee for over 20 years and this is my first time experiencing a bitter, powder at bottom the taste has totally changed with my new package. Very disappointing. Time to find a new branded coffee.

Kenco have changed the recipe (presumably to cut costs). The taste has changed for the worse, it now tastes like cheap budget coffee in my opinion. There's now sludge at the bottom of the cup. Will seek out something more premium going forwards.

Having drunk this for many years I was extremely disappointed in the new recipe. It leaves a bitter/ sour taste and a brown sludge in the bottom of the cup. I only realised the recipe had changed when I read the back of the jar! The old recipe was ‘Freeze dried instant coffee nothing else’ and now it’s ‘a blend of freeze dried instant coffee and roast and ground coffee .
In addition ,to make matters worse the jars are 10g less!!
Disgraceful!

Let me know when you go back to the original recipe and sack the idiot who recommended and implemented the change. I can just see them telling the board how they have saved the company 5% on the jar size and changed the recipe to save another 5%. Your sales are about to plummet because it tastes like sh1t
