I am absolutely furious with Swapp. They're claiming I parked illegally 16 times but provide ZERO details about where these supposed violations occurred.

When I asked for clarification, they had the audacity to tell ME to go consult the Abu Dhabi traffic authority instead of providing proper documentation themselves!

This company is clearly trying to scam their customers with unclear and possibly fabricated fines. I am disputing every single one of these charges. As a paying customer, I expect transparency about any alleged violations, not vague accusations with no supporting evidence.

After my experience and seeing countless similar complaints online, I can confirm what other reviews say - Swapp is untrustworthy and operates with questionable business practices. AVOID this company at all costs unless you enjoy being hit with mysterious fines and getting the runaround when you ask questions.

Definitely not a company that treats customers with respect or honesty.

Pathetic Cars - Fraudulent Charges - Misuse of Personal Details of people of use their service.

They created a fake booking under my name a month later then I actually used their service and asked me to pay RTA fines - which were non existent.

Careem’s car rental service “Swapp” has been a terrible experience for me. During my first booking, the car was delivered 30 minutes late, and for my second booking, they were 40 minutes late. This shows a complete disregard for their customers’ time. Even after constant follow-ups, nobody seemed capable of resolving the issue. What’s the point of selecting a delivery time slot if they can’t stick to it?

The delivery window is already two hours, yet they still can’t deliver on time. The service is consistently delayed, and they lack the ability to properly handle frustrated customers. Even their contact center is unhelpful, repeating scripted responses that only make the situation more irritating.

To top it off, their refund process takes seven days, which is completely unacceptable. I will never book a car with this company again. Worst experience ever!

A great digital seamless experience - this is such a great option as an alternative to car ownership in Dubai, or at least delay buying a car until you either have the finances yourself or until you build credit history - for new comers to Dubai this is the best option - they have a wide variety of cars from economy cars, to mid range SUVs to the extreme luxury - would highly recommend their services

Disgusting service. First of all they took the money from my account the day before, then on the day of the booking they claimed they didn’t receive the money even though I showed them the proof of payment and bank log. They then said they will return the money who knows when but just pay again now, so ofcourse because im in a rush and I should be at the road I decided to pay again.

Anyway, after making the second payment they realized that actually they need to prepare the car for me, taking more than one hour to prepare it and at the moment I am still waiting.

Overall, disgusting service, poor customer support, and by far the worst rental car service I dealt with in the UAE

We used this car rental as a swap from Careem. However, even though I paid by card online, the payment was not processed. This car rental is absolutely terrible. We were forced to pay by card twice and even after payment we were made to wait over 1 hour, Their attitude is very rude and we will NEVER use this car rental again. DONT use Careem rental ( Swapp)

TERRIBLE!!!!! Both my husband & I had a long term lease. Needless to say the urgency with this company is dismal there is no response for roadside assistance if you contact them outside of 'business hours" & when they do eventually get back to you we had to wait on the side of the road up to 3hrs. When booking a fault with the vehicle you can email, call, watsapp & they say they will get manufacturer to contact you which never happens... Fines incurred by their lack of assistance due to indicator not working caused a financial burden that they were not even willing to compensate for....also their prices are about AED300 higher than market so do your research before you entertain this place they have no empathy for customers

Absolutely terrible. Two hours late on hand off and lied about the hand off being only one hour late. Now with the return of the car it's the same story. It's an overpriced service run by people who have no idea what's going on. I don't know why a company as respected as Careem associate themselves with such a company. There's multiple other car rental services in the UAE with better prices, mileage allowances that are on time and friendly.

If it were possible to give 0 I would.
The cars they loan are unsafe: a month into my lease and the service light and 4 warning lights are on.
I was charged 620AED plus 75AED processing fee: when I then enquired as to what this was for, I was told "a traffic violation". I have still received no information on what my supposed traffic violation was, yet I was charged the money almost 3 weeks ago.
Swapp are liars, cheats and not to be trusted.

Not good, I asked for the car at 11:00am and they delivered the car at 10:50am.

Car was too clean , had a smell of air freshener

I should not even give one star.BEWARE THEY ARE LIAR AND FRAUD. They are liar and cheater. Before I rent car I clearly requested to add additional insurance, which they call it SCDW. They confirmed it was added. I confirmed two times and they said it was added. and when I asked them 2 days before returning the car because I have not been charged for insurance yet and when I ask them when will they charge. they said it is not added and they told me that they called me to provide my home country license and I did not provide. In fact they don’t even call me. When I check with the customer service via app , one staff told me they will add it immediately then one day later they came up with nonsense reason and they said I am liable for the damage . I clearly stated before renting the car that I want to add additional insurance and they clearly told me that it was added . Then they twisted everything and make a lie. Please never rent car from them. They are liar and fraud

Another car rental company that rip you off when you return the car back to them!
They tried to tell me there was a mark on the side of the car which I had done. Luckily I had proof that this mark was already there and so they couldn’t charge me. Then they charged me 260AED for cleaning when the car was spotless as I had it cleaned a week before. Defo wouldn’t recommend this company

Do not deal with this company at all they deducted 4000 aed then asked for documents and then just cancel without any clear justification and tell me they will refund in 5 to 10 working days.

Rented 2024 Mazda CX-5 under bookingID: 1000065370 on 2024-02-17 till 2024-03-17.
The pickup was smooth. Actually the car owner is Thriffty.
Once I decided to return the car early, I was not able to pick early return date in Careem app (no such option at all). Contacted support helpdesk via email. Agreed to return the car on Saturday, 16 March 2024 while the official return date was Monday, 18 March 2024. What went wrong then:
1. No one came to pick the car on 16 March on agreed date and time between 3 and 5 PM though I was waiting at home. I need to change my plans to stay at home to pass the car. Anyway the call center support called me the next day saying I didn't pick the phone, but email support confirmed the mistake on their side.
2. The swapp page on Careem app automatically extended the rent, but I didn't do anything and was sure early return via email support is enough
3. I was charged 303 AED due to extension I didn't ask. Later they returned the funds.
4. A month after return I was charged 100 AED for missing fuel. The funny part is that I received the car with 50% tank full, but returned with 100% full, and got charged for the whole tank.

Will never deal with SWAPP again and regret I ever provided them my bank card details.

I feel compelled to share my terrible experience with Swapp Car Rental in order to warn others about their deceitful and dishonest practices. I recently rented a car from Swapp, and my encounter with them has been nothing short of a scam. I rented a car from them for two days while my own car was in the mechanic's shop. On the day of pickup, the driver who arrived to collect the car failed to inspect it for any scratches or damages as he was supposed to. Instead, he immediately focused on the boot and removed the cover, revealing a filthy and damaged tire below the boot cover. He questioned me about it, and I clearly stated that I had nothing to do with the tire. He nonchalantly shrugged it off and left. To my surprise, days later, I discovered that AED 575 had been debited from my credit card for the alleged damage to the tire. I immediately contacted the driver, but he conveniently pretended not to understand or speak English. Frustrated, I reached out to them via WhatsApp, and they provided me with phone numbers to call. However, when I called, they simply told me that I had no evidence to prove that the damaged tire was already in the car. Ironically, they themselves had no evidence to support their claim that I had caused the damage. If you are a UAE resident, be extremely cautious when dealing with Swapp Car Rental. They seem to have a particular agenda against customers, as they will go to great lengths to exploit and deceive them. However, if you are not a resident, they will conveniently inform you of a supposed road fine that you are liable for. This is nothing more than a ploy to extract additional money from customers. My experience with Swapp has left me deeply disappointed and convinced that they can NEVER be trusted. Their lack of transparency and integrity is evident in their dealings. I strongly advise anyone considering using their services to think twice and explore other reputable car rental options. In conclusion, I urge everyone to steer clear of Swapp Car Rental. Their dishonesty and lack of integrity are evident in the way they conduct business. Trust me when I say that they can NEVER be trusted, and it is in your best interest to avoid them at all costs. There are plenty of other reputable car rental companies available that prioritize customer satisfaction and honesty. Please take my experience as a cautionary tale and save yourself the trouble and frustration of dealing with Swapp Car Rental.

TELLING LIES
I rented a car for two days and on the day of pickup the driver came and went directly to the booth and brought out a damaged tire, and then told me I damaged the tire. I was shocked and suprised because I never knew there was tire in the booth and it was not even a spare tire it was just a nomal tire.

I then told the driver I knew nothing about the tire in the booth then the driver replied with just ‘ok no problem it’s fine’ then he left. And after 1 day 525aed was debited from my account without me authorizing it and also 50aed without no explanation they re just claiming for damaged tire.

Am so confused because how come they was a case of damaged tire in the boot which I don’t know of, meaning these guys put damage tires in the boot and later claim you damaged it…..pls don’t do business with this people am stil trying to get my money back.

How can Careem be associated with this? They claim no deposit bit when the car is delivered and even after it is returned they just keep charging random charges to my card. On 2 occasions they charged 200 and when i enquired about it i was told "technical mistake it was supposed to be a refund". Huh? Why charge me then! When the car ia returned, weeks later i get charged for late returns, when it was booked for a month on the app and picked up on time! The charges just keep coming and its not acceptable!

Seriously dont recommend using any part of SWAPP car rental. Pay no deposit is the marketing line, but this is a signup for unlimited random charges on your card!!!!!
