Don’t sign up ! Dirty gym with broken equipment
I would give JD Gym West Bromwich 0 stars if I could - when this gym opened a few years ago it was excellent - very clean - the cleaners cleaned the changing rooms . Showers toilets etc .. the classes were really good and they were taught by good trainers
well since the Oldbury -and Brierly Hill branches opened the West Bromwich JD gym has gone downhill . They have got rid of the cleaners as never see them whatever time of day I go to the gym .
The toilets and showers are filthy - rarely see a cleaner . the gym equipment is mainly broken or not in use - classes are getting cancelled last minute - turned up to do a body pump class today 3/06/24 class cancelled last minute - all the good classes that are on time and with good trainers is at the other two gyms !!
Management get your act together and get the classes in especially the a body combat class with Jordan - loved this class but they have got rid of it at this gym but still running at the two other gyms . The changing rooms are filthy !! Toilet tissue all over the floor - the showers have hair all over it - absolutely disgusting ! I sent an email to management few weeks ago no reply !
I have decided to cancel my membership and go elsewhere - I’m not paying £22 a month to workout in a filthy gym with classes getting cancelled last minute - and some classes been taken off the timetable all together .
I hope management see this and do something about it, as I can see this gym closing.

High quality, friendly, no TikTok recording shenanigans.
This is the 2nd gym I have ever subscribed monthly for and in comparison to the pure gym located around the same area in West Bromwich.
I can say that the equipment and interior is very similar but there are multiple dedicated rooms for cycling, classes and most importantly the sauna and cold shower.
The gym is relatively friendly and has a good culture, staff are patient and professional. people may stop you mid-set to ask when you finish, the more hardcore dead lifting racks and bench-press are located in the furthest part of the gym. So you don’t have to hear other users grunt as they drop their weights about in the area closer to the entrance.
In all this is a great gym, for newcomers and intermediate gym goers alike. 4/5

I recently joined the gym and have taken a few classes Stella and Sandra are fab and I highly recommend their classes , great at what the do and very amenable
Renee inducted me in the gym in regards to how to use the equipment he was patient and knowledgeable
Good music good atmosphere clean Sauna overall I am happy but would never return and would not recommend the Pilates class I attended on Saturday morning I did not get the tutors name whilst I acknowledge she knows what she is doing her delivery is poor she is rude shouty arrogant and I hated every minute of the class she was demeaning and condescending and does nothing to boost JD”s ratings
Looking forward to trying the other classes

Outdated and broken equipment
Outdated and broken equipment. Ladies section is abandoned with weight machines and treadmills not working. Such a large gym and only a corner dedicated to women only even then most of the equipment is outdated. Really not worth my money but the only place I can go to that’s close enough to home with free parking. If you have an alternative gym you can go to I would go there. Do not recommend this gym.

With regards to broken equipment, our staff do undertake regular maintenance checks and work hard with our equipment providers to ensure that our equipment is fixed as soon as possible, if any should be broken.
We are equally as disappointed when this happens and sometimes need to wait on engineers but will have all equipment in full working order as soon as is safely possible. If you have any concerns about equipment, please notify staff on site as soon as you can. You can email the General Manager at westbromwich@jdgyms.co.uk
