JD Gyms - Sheffield South Recensioni 

I’ve been training at jd gym south ever since they opened, such s great gym, the staff are friendly and welcoming, the gym is always clean and tidy. And adam the manager always goes above and beyond to fix any problems I’ve ever had. Having moved from Birmingham some years ago I felt abit isolated in a new city and in a new gym but everyone there made me feel like family and I am forever grateful, it makes training even more enjoyable when you feel comfortable as soon as you walk through the doors. Thanks guys

There were super improvements made to the gym, the new equipment is amazing and the sauna is a really nice addition to the gym.

Good atmosphere, good equipments, and love the machines and dumbbells

The loud music throughout the gym is terrible, and off putting. It's a also completely unnecessary as almost everyone has headphones.

What's worse is that the music is on in the (female) changing rooms, which makes the new sauna very unrelaxing.

This gym has great facilities but you can't appreciate them unless the music was off in the sauna and ideally in the whole gym, or at the very least quieter.

Joined Sheffield south due to the number of advertised spin classes. First morning I visit to find none of the classes are running….. immediate cancellation, well I say immediate, I’ve requested a cancellation but not heard back! Think I’ll stick with pure gym.

The insanely loud and rubbish music in the changing rooms, which is also then in the sauna. It's so loud you can't converse. Women wearing outside clothes and on their phones in the sauna. So unhygienic.
Consequently, the sauna is not relaxing.
The music in the whole gym would ideally be off - it's rubbish and people wear headphones as a result.

Amazing positives to start with. Absolutely fantastic gym in terms of space, facilities, and a great vibe overall. You can tell the enormous recent effort and investment in new machines made by the gym. However, a relevant older problem appears to be getting even worse. Way too many under 16s are allowed in the gym, mostly in larger groups, and usually of a particular background. Many of them are not there to work out, no gym etiquette whatsoever, just not to get into details. This makes you feel really uncomfortable and it can be even intimidating in some cases.
This is really a great gym with wonderful staff and I would like to believe that JD Gyms will look into this more carefully and do more about it.

Staff completely ignored the new customer at the gates even after ringing the bell and phone calls whilst they talked amongst themselves. Ashamed really an example of poor customer service tossing it off at work. It's all on CCTV if you watch this morning at Sheffield South!

The music is too loud you can't even speak to friend next to you. The gym equipments are old and abused so you can't even work out properly. Half the equipments don't even work or out of order.

The plus side to all of this is that I only paid £5 for a month's membership. Once the new Gym around the corner opens up I will be joining them and cancelling my membership with JD gyms. JD needs to fix up or else they will lose a lot of customers.

Good environment but to old machines, no upgraded machines.

Plenty of machines, large space and open 24 Hours. Can get busy at times.

Good sized gym with lots of equipment. I like the fact there is a women’s only section. Too many of the stairmasters don’t work and it is sometimes very smelly.

Compared to my old gym i love this, very spacious and plenty of room so everyone can do the workouts they need to.

The gym itself is fine - decent equipment and good changing facilities, but when I had to cancel my membership it was another story. The process took weeks and now my daughter is having the same issue. Why does the process take weeks and repeated messages when PureGym up the road can get it done in a minute?

I love the equipment, space and the style of the JD gym but the massive issue for me is the overal mess caused by people who don’t know how to put equipment back.

Been trying to quit for a couple of days had no reply, wanting to leave due to the amount of under 16s that attend the location im at aswell as the fact that it’s treated more like a hang out spot rather then a gym with large groups of people fully dressed not working out laughing and messing around all the equipment

As someone who goes before work, it's great to have a 24-hr option. Although the door says to use a code before 6am and I don't have one (the scanner appears to work, though)

I'm liking the variety of equipment although there's often a lack of attachments for the machines, which is surprising as I understand a lot of new ones have been installed recently.

Assistance button for staff goes usually unanswered, literally a queue of people stuck waiting to get in everytime I'm leaving it seems.
The weights are always left lying around, seems there's no rules to enforce people respecting the gym and others.
It also feels like it's taken on too many members because it feels at capacity so often.

While I like the lower ceiling and light a/c in the weights section, it's like trying to lift weights in a dim night club.

The Rotherham gym is like a sauna in summer but at least there's members of staff keeping on top of order somewhat.

Also half the lockers have been kicked in, and the urinal layout is dead weird where it's bang next to the sinks.

I've just transferred clubs to here but I'm strongly considered going over to foundry just up the road instead.
