Chloe is an asset to this Gym. Kind hated with great professionalism.

It’s a really big gym with lots of machines but it’s still spacious. My only issue is they seem to have the heating on? Or maybe they just don’t have very strong aircon especially in the weights section it can be quite suffocating and I often end up feeling way too warm and sick. I would love it if it was an ice cold gym so I can work out harder and longer without over heating.

Best gym ,new member from last week , went in to do a session today , experienced some people trying to come in on entrance, wanted some assistance but there was n one there from staff to assist them , they tried ringing waited but no response , later realised that all staff were also busy doing work out . The music is shit and far too loud. You can even hear it in the sauna, which is annoying. If people want music, they can take headphones. The showers are cheap and there's no control over the temperature. I doubt very much they're give me a refund though. Let's see

Iv been a member for over 2 years now the staff are very friendly and provide a a comfortable training environment they listen to the customers particularly the PT keiran and manager Adam to make each training experience a success this can range from putting the air con on to providing training advice , keiran and adam have good communication skills with all members and have always made time to interact me and others

JD when I first started I was nervous and scared now they are like this amazing fitness family Especially Chloe she is such a sweetheart not only she is making sure that my health is in Oder she also makes sure that my mental health is good too always ask if I am okay if I need any help and when ever I have a problem she is always there she is a great asset to this gym and she is always running around making sure that everything is in working condition always cares what the members want and is keen to know more if there anything they want not only she wants the gym to be a better place thanks for helping me and so many others like me

I wholeheartedly rate JD Gym South. The classes are fantastic, you can just turn up on the day. Instructors are friendly, welcoming and helpful.
Equipment in the main gym has recently been replaced which is great.
A very positive experience.

Excellent gym all new equipment, Sauna, best gym ive been to for equipment and friendly people, Kieran the staff member always making sure the gym is tidy weights are put back etc, valued staff member by myself always listens if you go to him for anything, cleanliness is alot better now, wipes back on the gym floor which is good, yep no faults at all 5* gym , big gym lots of equipment (new)

Great overall gym after the upgrade.

The gym has recently got a new arrangement of nautilus equipment and saunas in the changing rooms.

New machines for back, chest, legs and abs.

Over 10 squat racks, most of which are well lit Olympic squat racks.

As well as plenty of new spec matrix stair masters as well as the usual cardio equipment but all new spec, treadmills, bike, cross trainers, rowing machines, as well as new manual treadmills that move when you move.

There’s plenty of cable machines too if you’re looking for a versatile gym.

I’ve been coming to this gym for years and it’s the best it’s ever looked.

If I was into bodybuilding I’d highly recommend this gym if your goals are to build an impressive physique.

If you’re into fitness and or hyrox they have all that you need to train for it in this gym, too much to list but you get the point.

For the body weight enthusiasts, this gym has a great rig that you can train a wide range of calisthenics routines wether it’s static or dynamic skills.

Great new kit and love the sauna. Always kept clean and tidy and management / staff helpful with any queries.

Review by Danielle (not Nigel) JD Gym Sheffield South has had a fantastic refurb – the upgrades look great and the new saunas are a brilliant addition. The range of classes is excellent, especially the early morning spin sessions run by Gez Fit, which are absolutely amazing and such a motivating start to the day, along with a cheeky sauna.

The atmosphere in the gym is really positive and it’s clear a lot of effort has gone into improving the facilities. We’re really looking forward to the upcoming upgrade to the ladies’ section and the new spin bikes in the future. Highly recommend!

I'm seriously impressed! The new equipment is fantastic—the updated cardio machines are a big plus, and I love not having to wait for machines anymore. Having its own ladies section is fab too!

The new saunas are great after a workout and don't seem to be busy, which is a massive bonus.

The staff are always friendly and make you feel welcome, and the instructors for the classes are awesome! Highly recommend.

I joined this gym a couple of years ago and use the classes more than the equipment although I can see it’s all been upgraded and there are a lot more options.
I love the glasses run by Gail, Sharon, Erika and Aimee. They all have the personal touch and add fun to their classes.
Enjoying having a cheeky sauna before work in the morning makes a difference after a hard spin class.
Recommend this gym to all.

I would highly recommend JD Gyms Sheffield. They after a recent refurbishment the equipment and facilities are first class. The quality of the gym class instructors is excellent. I personally attend all the classes provided by Gail - her skill and knowledge has really helped me progress with my fitness. Thanks JD!

Love Gail's Spin classes - well not when doing them!!! Clear communication from her and super reliable. Don't really use any other facilities in the gym, apart from the classes, do love a Sharon spin too - guaranteed to have plenty of giggles! Also really like that you don't have to pre book - just turn up.

Great refurb but...

They've recently refurbed this gym and the equipment, lay out and general set up if brilliant. However, unfortunately, it's understaffed and unlike pure gym down the road, there's no PTs/Staff to martial the unruly behaviour in this place. Some of the things I've seen that need to be sorted out and kept on top of include teens smoking weed in the changing rooms, people using the new sauna to dry their clothes and people generally acting like idiots. No gym ettiquette at all; you'll go to a machine or dumbells section and everythings all over the place. Its a shame given the refurb, the staff just dont have any authority or seem to lack any care. The lockers are 85% broken too.
