It all started with the 1st enquiry in early 2022 with Install Solar where they tried to pull the wool over my eyes regarding MCS accreditation. Yes, they had it, but that was the period of time before they were suspended for malpractices, then struck off for not complying with the requirements to put matters right. It was after that things really started to go pear shape, with Dave Carey being the biggest porky-pie teller, followed by Alex Miller (silent partner not wanting his name associated at director level), and Steven Bell. James Foggo was just a salesman at this point. Then, at the end of 2022, Mr Carey & Mr Miller left the company and formed a new outfit called Prestige Solar leaving Mr Foggo to become Sales Manager and Mr Bell continue as Sole Director. Remember the name!! These 2 are carrying on the same practices as Install Solar with NO accreditation for Presitge Solar from MCS (which means no export payment EVER from your installation) and (if MCS ever find out the connection) may never issue the required paperwork. DO YOUR HOMEWORK. We don't need cowboys.

Got panels and battery installed, they work fine though they did wire the CT clamp incorrectly the first time - very easy to fix though, and since the system is working perfectly.
However, like many others, I've been misled about them having an MCS certificate. I have it written down in my contract that they are to provide it but now they don't answer calls and emails.
The company appears to still be Active on Companies House, but their premises have been vacated. They have a different address, where multiple other similar companies have been registered by people who used to work in Install Solar Ltd - check out Install Solar Ltd complaints page on FB to get the full picture.

This Company is a scam and always has been.
I had a terrible experience with Install Solar. I paid them a large sum of money to install solar panels on my home, but they never delivered on their promises. After months of excuses and delays, they eventually stopped answering my calls and emails altogether. I've been left with no solar panels and no way to get my money back. To help others in a similar situation, I've started a Facebook page called 'Install Solar LTD Complaints' where people can share their experiences and support each other. I strongly advise anyone considering using Install Solar to find a different company that values their customers and follows through on their commitments.

I have had them to court and won and interest is gaining daily but they don't care and Steven Bell won't turn up to court then give a terrible excuse why not. The police have investigated them and trading standards are very aware of them. The address is wrong on the website and I suggest you use other methods to find there real address. They also have other companies watch out

Company has gone bust, I went personally to the small unit they worked from to get my money back as they’ve lied to me about being certified and they weren’t! No signs, shutters are down and the fellow businesses next to them confirmed they’ve closed up shop! Beware they’ve ran away with our money and I won’t stop till I get it back! Steven Bell is a con man and so is his business partner Jim Fogo

If I could leave less stars I would have, we got our Installation fitted last October and everything was fine but just like somebody else it was later discovered that they had fitted a 3.6Kw Inverter instead of the 5Kw which I paid for, please check your Inverter for this as it seems to be one of their many scams, they made promises that they would change it over when it came into stock again but it never materialised.
I have now washed my hands with them as my Inverter has a faulty Input 2 fault so now pressing Solis to get it replaced under warranty and hopefully get it upgraded to the 5Kw.
Please keep clear of these crooks they are an absolute disgrace of a company and should get jail time.

Agree with what is written below.
System installed last summer and works well, however unable to sell back to the grid because we were misled that the company was MCS registered when in fact they were removed from the register in May 2022. Have paid a deposit for a second battery which I now stand to lose. I have already contacted consumer advice and will be contacting the police as they have acted fraudulently. It seems they are now shut down. Director named above is still active.

We paid in June 2022. Installation dates were cancelled repeatedly. We waited -we expected to wait with a new company.
Installed April 2023. System didn’t work as it was installed incorrectly. Puredrive fixed the first problem but then we realised our electricity consumption had almost doubled.
They have wired it incorrectly in the fuse box.
They have not responded to us to fix this problem, they let the phone go to answer machine.
We went with them because of the sales man, he seemed honest and didn’t push us.
They are not registered with MSC and didn’t tell us so we are throwing away energy instead of selling it.
Everyone we met seemed friendly and helpful but we have spent a huge amount of money on a system that we don’t know is safe. We are now trying to find a proper engineer to sort it.
Do not risk this company.

The company claimed to be MCS registered, but they are not. I purchased an array with two other friends, at the time the salesman said they were MCS registered and let us see a copy of an MCS certificate.

This was lies, we now have solar arrays and export vast amounts of energy and are unable to get paid for the privilege, one of the installation had the wrong inverter fitted 3.6kw rather than 6kw, check your own installation now!

On visiting their offices yesterday we discovered all closed up and the Grange Road address was vacated 4 months ago.

If you have purchased from Install Solar Ltd and have not got all of your paperwork or you have paid any deposits, then you need to report this to the police and contact West Lothian trading standards.

These crooks have recently set up multiple new Renewable Businesses at their location 20 Nasmyth Court Livingston, so were still taking orders knowing they were moving on and closing the Install Solar Business.

The two main fraudsters are Steven Alexander Bell and David Carey. The only way to get any justice is to report them, and some jail time might sort out the issues.

A court case last week was found in favour of the plaintiff, as Mr Bell did not bother to turn up.

Even doing as much due diligence, as I did, I still got caught out.

I originally posted this review about a month ago but removed it in good faith after i received a call from the company asking to remove it. Since then i have had a system failure and trying to get someone to deal with it has been awful so now know first hand what i always feared, after sales non existent.
After numerous attempts to contact install Solar via phone ( just goes straight to answer phone), leaving messages ( never return or acknowledge messages), contact by email to every address possible including the MD Steven ( again no reply or acknowledgement), i have exhausted all attempts to contact this company without success. I hope my solicitor has better luck.
Here is my review that i posted and was asked to remove. There has been more negative posts logged since then so hopefully people will get the vibe and stay well clear, there are many other companies out there who will give you what you pay for and without the hassle. I have now taken the steps in asking for a full refund as i want to remove the whole system, return it and start again, put the whole thing behind me and put it down to a very bad experience.

I'll try and keep this short as i could write a novel here however i'll stick to the headings.
The good- Components used were excellent, Solis inverter, JA SOLAR panels and Puredrive batteries, system working well ( till 20/04/23).
The bad- initial installation was a sham and has taken till March 23 since June 22 to fully rectify.
The ugly-No MCS certificate or insurance backed guarantee as per quote after months of promises as they lost their MCS accreditation in May 2022 and went ahead knowingly fitting my system in June without informing me.
The uglier- When a squad were back finally completing the remedial work after 4 attempts to get the job to a satisfactory standard, my wife and i were subjected to a load of verbal abuse by one of the roofers which was caught in my home security system, says it all about this company.
I'm now proceeding with legal action against the company for breach of contract.

This is hands-down the worst experience I've ever had with a company. We had our system installed in June 2022. The install went well. The problems began when Install Solar weren't able to provide the MCS certification or the batteries. Eventually we received the batteries around 3 months later. It transpired after I contacted MCS directly that Install Solar had been kicked off the scheme in May 2022, one month before our system was installed. As such, the company tricked us into installing the system knowing it had no certification and that we wouldn't be able to export energy. They continued to lie to us about the MCS situation and the MPAN application process for months on end. Only now, 11 months later have I received the MPAN number for export, but it is essentially useless without an MCS certificate. AVOID AT ALL COSTS FOLKS!

Our panels were installed last month. However the promised warranties and certificates have not been provided, and the company now appears to have ceased trading. It also misrepresented itself during the contracting process as being MCS registered and a member of RECC when in fact it was not. It lost its MCS accreditation on 19 May 2022

We had our panels installed in May 2022 and are happy with them.
Unfortunately, like other customers we are still giving free electricity to the grid as our paperwork has never been finalised.
Install Solar eventually told us the the paperwork to the DNO had lapsed - a complete lie as no paperwork was ever submitted.
We are now contacting our lawyer and will take them to court if necessary to get our money back.
Avoid this company at all costs.

To update following my previous review of Install Solar- I have now contacted Police Scotland who has started an investigation into this company. I have also contacted citizens advice and trading standards.
I would urge anyone else victimised by this company to contact the police and make every effort to bring them to justice.
Whilst I obviously want my money back, I am also very motivated to prevent this dishonest organisation from doing this to others, going forward.

People avoid this company at all cost. I got a 6kw array and 10kw of storage initial install 20/05/2022 the batteries were not installed until September due to delays but the big problem is they have lost MCs accreditation which means you can't get any return on the excess you put into the grid. They have gave me a cock and bull story about getting re accredited and filling in my paperwork but this will not happen they also lied about doing the paperwork for the network operator. Do not give them your money

It is nearly a year since I first made contact with Install Solar. I experienced what many of the reviewers have commented upon. I have a system installed that does not represent what was meant to be installed under my contract with IS. Install Solar agree that this is the case. I have been promised, since the end of last year, by the new MD, Stevie Bell, that they will come out and correct the issues and then sign it off and provide the MCS certificate. “He is trying his best”, but there is a delay by RECC. Recently the Solis App stopped working, I reported this to Stevie who simply ignored my request to have this corrected. He’s now asking for more money before he’ll come out and do what needs to be done. Having already paid out a 50% deposit(an amount that contravenes the requirements by RECC) I am unwilling to send more money to this company when there is no guarantee they will ever be accepted by RECC and obtain their MCS status.
My advice is read the reviews before deciding to use this company.
In the event that everything does turn out o.k. I will as a matter of fairness issue a further review

I agree with all the bad reviews.
We to paid a deposit and have it in writing that if no MCS number we could cancel and get deposit back.
We have phoned and emailed very difficult to get to speak to anybody of importance.
If no refund then further action will be taken

BEWARE, appalling company, terrible service and rogue traders. This company should be shut down for conning people.

I would give a minus score if I could. Because of circumstances I cancelled an order within 3 days. This company has not repaid my deposit as per agreement and as per the Consumer Act. They are breaking the law and I am forced to chase them at law now. It`s is all about money. Jim Foggo, the sales manager, has made several promises to repay, but his word is just that, a word. Do not believe a word you are told

Install went well
In contract it said that work would include MCS certification.
This company are NO LONGER MCS registered!
This means you can’t get paid for exporting electricity.

They have been stringing me along for 6 months saying they will get me the certificate

AVOID at all costs!

Our install went smoothly with no problems and the system has worked perfectly as expected since then. Very pleased with it. Dropped one star as the paperwork side of things took longer than expected to be completed but their office kept us up to date with progress. Held off giving a review to see if any problems arose but all has been fine.
