Amazing experience and well worth the cost.

We visited the Birmingham centre on the 18th April 2026.
We booked for a group of 13, everyone really enjoyed it. The staff were friendly and they treated the kids exceptionally well. They provided all the support and guidance necessary. It's only recently opened with some teething problems which is expected, this may explain some of the negative reviews, I would highly recommend it if you fancy doing something different. We had the flight experience where you hover a few feet in the air, this is for first-time flyers and if you want to go higher its an optional extra, £20 for first flight and £15 for any additional flights. Each flight is over 1 min long, but it's long enough. Please research properly before going so you avoid any disappointments.

I flew

Had a great time at iFLY we went to the one at the O2. It was for my wife’s birthday the place was nice and clean and the staff were friendly and professional. They explained everything to us. What would happen what we had to do. Our instructor was very good. We’re definitely come back here again.

Had a fab time here today!

Had a fab time at the new Birmingham venue today!! So much fun. Such a great experience. Dom our instructor was so welcoming, professional, and put us at ease. David was really helpful too. If you want to do something exhilarating and different, highly recommend.

child’s birthday ruined by unfair treatment

Booked this for a child’s birthday, everyone excited, plans made, took time off from work to travel Birmingham and then suddenly told you can’t honour the original time slot. That’s not just inconvenient, it’s completely unacceptable.

If the facility is open and running in FULL, there’s no valid reason to cancel a confirmed booking at the last minute. It really looks like our slot has just been handed to someone else. Whether that’s favouritism or poor management, either way it’s unfair and unprofessional.

People organise their time, make arrangements, and rely on bookings being respected. You can’t just shuffle customers around like they don’t matter. This has caused unnecessary stress and disappointment, especially for a child’s birthday, which makes it even worse.

Absolutely would not recommend a place that treats customers like this.

Daughter’s 18th

Booked the experience weeks ago for my daughter’s 18th birthday and we had a message tonight to say it’s been cancelled for tomorrow. I’ve been on hold for 15 mins and then the line went dead. No one is contacting us and it’s for a special occasion.

Cancelled booking within 24 hours

Cancelled my booking within 24 hours of event because "the tunnel is new and it can't be on for prolonged period of time." Yet when rearranging, on the three days after there's availability every half hour throughout the day. What a load of nonsense, avoid.

Promised a refund - still waiting

I booked for my daughter to this experience and within 15 minutes of me booking it, my ex partner said he had already booked it for her so I requested a refund. This refund was approved and their customer service said the refund is being 'processed'. It's now been 8 working days, 3 phone calls and 2 emails and I am still awaiting a refund. A refund can take 3-5 working days but for this long?? At this rate I may have to reverse the charges. Also, my ex partner said it is £23 cheaper to book this experience through a third party company for those who do want to book.

Not worth it

Greedy. You can have a hover but you don’t get taken up unless you pay extra. Can’t film in there unless you pay extra. Equals £70 per person this has annoyed the heck out of me as I paid for six people to go for their Christmas gifts. That’s £420 extra for the proper experience. We didn’t bother. Feel mis-sold. Purchased through Red Letter days.

It used to be great

It used to be great. The first time I went with my family was at Basingstoke, and we had an amazing time. Back then, they would take you up to the middle of the tunnel and even ask if you wanted an additional “high flight” for about £15, which took you almost to the top of the tunnel. It was so cool, and I’m really glad we paid for the high flight for our child.

At the time it was around £40, which was still expensive but felt worth it for the experience.

Recently we went to The O2, and the experience was quite disappointing. We paid for a package, but they only suspended you in the air for a few seconds. If you want to fly even to the middle of the tunnel now, it’s an additional £20, which feels quite silly considering how the experience used to be.

Unexpected costs at the end

The actual experience is absolutely fantastic and was thoroughly enjoyed by my grandson. However we only had one 'highfly' experience included and were totally unaware as its not clear when booking each extra one is charged after. They charged us £15 for each extra high fly, which to be frank without a highfly it wouldnt be very exciting. Plus reality in the total time in the chamber was about 1 minute 30 seconds per flight (we had 4) and total cost was £230 for two people. Its a shame because its otherwise brilliant.

Poor customer service

As a regular experienced flyer it seems like each week there is a new hoop to jump through just to be able to fly.

Last week our team mate had norovirus so was unable to make our session at short notice. We were told we couldn't fly because the booking was in his name, despite us flying as the same group regularly.

We have many future booking in names of those who were present but told it was impossible to swap them.

We were forced to buy more time (as we wanted to fly having travelled multiple hours) and lose the time that was booked. As the session was already full, we were told to book a future session and then the receptionist proceeded to swap them proving it was easily possible.

The instructors are great but the lack of flexibility in company policy for genuine unavoidable circumstances to regular customers just constantly leaves a sour taste in your mouth.

AVOID MANCHESTER DONT GET BACK TO YOU WHEN YOU COMPLAIN AND JUST IGNORE YOU

Still no reply , it’s been 2 weeks since requesting manager contact .. the customer service so far has been terrible , we have been patient asking and requesting contact from the manager we booked tried to move the appointment and requested a cancellation within hours from the initial booking and they have literally said they don’t care the reasons they won’t refund the vouchers back to buy a gift … due to their terrible or should I say lack of customer service they didn’t get back to us to say the time
Slot was still open , so we didn’t know we could still attend .. for this reason we requested the vouchers back so we can go elsewhere , they are still refusing we advise you we are unsure about the service from the same place elsewhere but Manchester is terrible and you should avoid if you have any issues they won’t help you and they will fob you off .. we just want a refund of the vouchers back to buy a gift … buy a gift have been in touch with you and they actually are a business partner and yet your ignoring them as well

Don't purchase the video & photo package !!

Took my Grandson for the first time to Ifly Milton Keynes on Saturday 14th February.

Yes, as others have commented it is expensive for the actual time you 'fly' but this was not the issue for me as it was a Christmas present for him.

I paid £20.00 extra for photos and video footage and was advised that I would receive 3 or 4 images plus the video footage. What I actually received was 20 poor quality, hazy and distant images. The video footage was ok but nothing special. I was under the impression that the images might be of a professional nature, I could have done a better job taking images on my phone !!

I emailed their HQ the same day expressing my disappointment and the same day received an acknowledgement of my complaint. Over a week later I am still waiting for a formal response and have had to chase twice !

I didn't take any photos on the day as I was led to believe that my £20 would mean some nice photographic memories would be received. This was not the case and I would certainly avoid purchasing their photographic package.

This has soured what should have been a memorable time for my Grandson.

Maybe leaving this review online will speed up a response.....

Absolutely love ifly Basingstoke

Absolutely love ifly Basingstoke, Jordan is a great instructor, professional and clear instructions given. Highly recommend giving this ago. Alot of reviews say its expensive, I think the first intiall flight is but the return vouchers are a really good offer. There is also the option of joining the ifly club which you get event nights of free flying throughout the year. There is also an app IBA flying to keep track of your progress which you will need if you decide to keep returning.

A new experience for myself & my…

A new experience for myself & my husband. In our 50s, I have a mobility disability but still did it with a high fly too.
Harder than it looks but our instructor Richard was great at communicating, clear and we felt totally safe. It's harder than it looks but well worth a try.

It was a fun experience but extortionate upsellilng spoilt it for us

It was a fun experience overall, but the extortionate add-ons really spoiled it for us. At the start, you’re told that a “high” flight costs extra £20 per person, on top of what you’ve already paid. Given the size of the tunnel, I expected the “high” flight to actually go significantly higher. In reality, the instructor only lifted participants about 5–6 feet into the air, compared to the standard 1–2 feet included in the basic package.

Considering the instructor is already in the tunnel with each participant as part of their role, it’s difficult to understand how such a high additional charge can be justified for what feels like a minimal difference. It came across as an unnecessary upsell rather than a genuine enhancement to the experience.

I would strongly recommend asking the instructor to clearly explain what “high” actually means before going in, as ours gave no real indication of what to expect. This add-on ended up costing us an extra £70, which left a sour note on what should have been an exciting experience. Unfortunately, because of this, I wouldn’t return.

Overpriced for a few seconds of fun

Everything is an upsell..
You pay extra for a flight to the top at £20 each..
However this comes out of your original 60 seconds..
So you are paying an extra £20 to go a bit higher within your original miniscule time..
Under airkix or what is was called before, it was included in the price..

Happy to pay extra for extra to go to the top. Not to use the same original few seconds in the air though..
think we were offered 10 upsells from entering the door until leaving..

Forgot to say that the upsell doesn't just end when you walk out of IFly, you'll also get the upsell when you get home, via email for pictures and videos of the day.!!

Plus the reply from IFly is a joke..
It's not about what the customer wants..
It's about making much more money with all the upselling..

Maybe IFly should run a survey or focus group from customers.
Simple question..

Would you pay £20 more each for a decent flight time and everything included ?
Or would you like it £20 cheaper for a shorter time and expect the upsell for a family of 4 to be over £200..

I wonder what customers would say..

I'd love to meet these business owners coming for a meal in my restaurant..
I'd ask if they wanted a seat ? £10 extra
Would they like cutlery £10 extra.
Would they like their foof hot £10 extra.
Would they like a plate each £10 extra, free to share same plate.
Would they like a glass each for their drink £10 extra, free to share same glass..
Would they like us to wash their plates at the end, £10 extra..
Would they like the candle on the table lit, £10 extra.
Etc etc

Had return flights booked for my 2 sons…

Had return flights booked for my 2 sons over Christmas. Unfortunately they both came down with norovirus so I called as soon as iFLY opened to advise that we would be unable to attend. Spent £100 on the return flights only to be told that we have lost our money and there is nothing that can be done to re-arrange the flights. Asked for a Manager to call me to discuss, still waiting. Absolutely disgusting company/policies! Wont ever be returning. Be very careful when spending your hard earned money with this company.

15-Jan: Still no contact from a manager. Calls are dealt with in order. Must have an enormous amount of complaints!!

We’re pleased to hear that you found your instructor engaging, but we understand how disappointing it can be when the overall experience. Each iFLY experience is carefully structured to prioritise safety, and flying height and duration can vary depending on conditions in the tunnel and individual circumstances on the day.

We’re also sorry to hear about the issues you mentioned around availability, communication, and the certificate not being provided on the day. That’s certainly not the impression we aim to leave.

Poor customer service

We travelled two hours to attend a booked experience with iFLY Indoor Skydiving, which was a Christmas present for my son. On arrival, we were told there had been a power cut and the experience could not go ahead.

While I understand that a power cut isn’t necessarily within their control, it also wasn’t our fault and the service we paid for was not delivered. This was meant to be my son’s special day out, so we then had to scramble to find an alternative activity at short notice.

I contacted iFLY twice by email simply requesting a refund, as they were unable to fulfil the booking. Unfortunately, I received no resolution response at all, I was told it would be escalated and now crickets!

Because of the lack of communication and failure to resolve the issue, I am now having to pursue a Section 75 claim through my credit card provider, and if necessary, a small claims court action.

The cancellation itself was unfortunate, but the real disappointment is the complete lack of customer service afterwards. A prompt response and refund would have resolved this easily.

Went to ifly Manchester

Went to ifly Manchester. Our instructor was really good.Thats where it stops! I paid an extra £70 for me and my granddaughter for full height flight. When another instructor came in to do the higher flight he only took is quarter of the way up, which spoilt the granddaughters experience as this was what she was looking forward to. Then we were told the printer was broke. So certificate would be emailed .
At the end we were told sorry we didn’t have much fly time because the place was overbooked, which is our fault? I enjoyed the little we did but for the £170 for 2 was extortionate as we didn’t get what we paid for . I emailed support team and they did reply saying sorry to hear this and they would pass on to management but unsure what will be done and it takes time to get back to you with an answer. Obviously have a lot of complaints .
I would just be happy with the £70 extra refunded we paid and did not get .
