I most of the men I met were scammers

I most of the men I met were scammers. I gave them over 50,000 dollars. I know it was my responsibility, but match.com needs to scan their members. They have an on their opening page a disclaimer that they do not scan their members. I am lucky it was just money. I could have met someone who hurt me. I paid money for this??

Beware! This is a scam and unprofessional dating platform

Match.com is a scam, and I remember it being so much better. It has become a date hookup site, and they have false advertising issues. I signed up in the fall of 2025. I was "matched" with a guy. Let me point out first that I understand that this is about dating and meeting people. This "match" was really great at first. They do not make the first move...period. I also think that the site plays with the profiles. The men will trick you into them giving you their number. They let YOU ask them out, not making the first move, trying to boost their self esteem, and lead you on to believe that they are looking for a serious relationship. He said for the first month we started talking that he was on a trip. I don't believe it now. If that is false and there were no tricks, and things were true, then he did not know how to date and had a horrible attitude the entire time.

All I heard from guys is "Let's just get to know each other," "I am not looking for anything serious," and the classic, "It's not you, it's me." Which is code for something else. They are not at all serious, all they want to do is screw you over emotionally, and the pool was awful. A dating site is not to make a "friend". It is to date with intentions. Although the site cannot do much about the people who sign up, it has a one-star rating and that should speak for itself. The men that I experienced pulled at my heartstrings. I am not a yo-yo. This guy was crafty, I mean, really good, and from what I observed, he did nothing but breadcrumb or love bomb me for 3 months (this includes our previous messaging). His text messages were timed, daily, and he texted me almost on average 6 to 10 times a day. Too many women to juggle, I guess. They were about him and how he is having a hard time with things. Ladies, if you are experiencing this, run for the hills. He claimed he threw his back out and needed assistance. Then claimed he had to go to his mommy for help because he needed a heating pad. They cost maybe $30, and yet they give us crap for cramps every month. I told him that my throat was swollen when I got a serious cold, because good grief, you ask me how I am doing, I actually think that you give a shit. I had swollen tonsils (I really did, my throat was absolutely on fire), and he read it as having strep throat. He never paid attention to the conversations and almost never made eye contact, and always made it seem like he was going through worse. I am just thankful that I got everything in writing and kicked his butt out of my life, while having my guard up throughout it all. I was starting to care for him. I mean, you expect me not to have feelings? I have never experienced 'Breadcrumbing' or 'lovebombing' before, so I was blissfully unaware that's what might have been happening. He/they played me, making it feel like he was almost trying to get information.

Cutting him off cold turkey, and for two months after getting those messages and going out with him, (Yes, we went on real live dates - holding my hand and trying to kiss me each time), I tried to get to know others, because why should all guys suffer for his terrible behavior? And I paid for a subscription. All I received after that were harassing e-mails requesting sexual favors or e-mails indicating they were not looking for anything serious, after they liked me or I liked them. They also would "ghost" after 3 messages. The quality of "gentleman" on this site is abysmal. There is no screening process. I reached out to customer care about only receiving a partial refund because I would not be living out my full year, and they declined it because I had been sending messages. I was being tricked into sending messages. HELLO! However, without even asking me or showing me the option of doing so myself, they told me that they adjusted the payments and canceled my auto-renewal. A site should never go into your account and adjust ANYTHING! Customer service means that they present YOU with your options. Then, I went back into my account and saw my auto-renewal was still active. After trying 7 times later, I just fully canceled my account. Can anyone trust anything or anyone anymore?

Even with adjusting my preferences, they showed me only profiles of guys in Nebraska, Wisconsin or Illinois. I definitely don't live there. The profiles were fake and I do believe they hire or somehow trick people. I took a chance and I got burned. There are not great people on this site. It is a joke and a hoax. Do not visit this site due to the lack of quality out there with the dating pool and the customer service. I highly doubt that there were no local guys to look at. This might be the same on any other dating site, but this is one of them! I truly hope that one day karma hurts this guy, just like he has hurt me. If he ever sees this, please stay away from me.

The date of experience will be the first date I went on with a guy from the site.

Minefield!

I’ve been using Match.com for a while now, and in that time have come across a good number of fake accounts. Of course Match aren’t alone in having their site infiltrated by such, but before their recent change of app and website users were able to verify their own accounts and as such see others who verified theirs. I once asked Match why they didn’t request all members go through this process, thus protecting everyone from phishers, but they said they relied on their robust vetting procedure.
Prior to the change one was also able to report members who one suspected were fake, and in literally an hour or so one had an answer by return email. This was a pretty good way of progressing contact with a fellow member knowing they were legitimate. Now regrettably this feature has been withdrawn along with the verification procedure. This leaves members open to potential extortion by individuals with a nefarious objective.
In a time when more attention is rightfully being drawn to phishing by the media in the press and on television, giving advice to people using dating sites and warning of the dangers, Match heads in the opposite direction! As a consequence, I’ve noticed a lot more ‘dodgy’ looking profiles recently - funny that!
I like to think myself pretty ‘switch-on’ and can normally spot fake accounts a mile away, but others may not be so diligent and get hood-winked into a phoney relationship. These poor souls may end up at best, heart broken, and worse, thousands of pounds out of pocket.
I’m hoping to raise this with my local MP and contact BBC Watch-dog for their views.
Match.com, come on think a tad less about making money and more on your customers safety!
I’ve given the company 1 star, as their customer service team are, in fairness, pretty good at responding to queries - that alone saves them from no stars, if indeed that were possible!

I Smell a Rat at Match...

I opened the free account which barely gives you anything free to work with. Suddenly, I have 25 likes...and now I'm at 51, with over 99 views of my profile. Also, I have three messages, and if I want to look at the men who are so interested in me, I'll need to buy from the expensive subscription plans.

So, what's the problem? Other than the ridiculously high prices, I DO NOT believe that the over ninety nine views and likes are legit. A similar scam happened to me at Christian Mingle - a guy was flirting at me, and if I wanted to hear more from him, I needed to buy a subscription. Once I paid the near forty bucks, the guy's account was shutdown. I was scammed into buying a sub, and why do I have this strange feeling that Match.com is pulling the same con?

Is anything sacred?

Dysfunctional platform and ineffective customer support

I subscribed to Match.com in January 2026 and experienced repeated login failures, account errors, and features that did not function as advertised (including messaging and verification problems). I contacted customer support multiple times over several weeks and received only generic responses with no meaningful resolution.

For a paid service, the platform is unreliable and the support system appears incapable of handling basic account issues. I cancelled and requested deletion of my personal data. I would not recommend Match.com to anyone considering a subscription.

Tegnede et 6 mndrs. abonnement, som jeg ikke har fornyet.
De har nu trukket på min konto for 7. måned.
Man kan jo selvfølgelig ikke kontakte dem på nogen måde.

Company makes it almost impossible to cancel payments

This company makes it deliberately difficult to contact them to cancel membership. They roll over membership into a new period automatically at increased cost even when requested not to do so ( with huge difficulty )
If you dare to block payments they take payment under a different name -Meetic. The email address on that website returns mail as undeliverable and like Match you cannot phone them.

Well what can I say about this site…

Well what can I say about this site what a con they present it like uou can meet lots of ladies. I have sent must be over a 100 likes to women on the site but 1 or2 reply. Beginning to think I'm I that ugly. Good at taking your money and reading there profiles they either want you to take them around the world or they just want you yo wine and fine yhrm with no relationship at the end. So save you money and look for another site put a h in front of the I in site and that is what this site is.

Liars and crooks

If only I could give them a zero I would. They got me for $250 cause I paid for a year. Tried to get my money back and they refused. I have the exact same profile on a free dating site and have had success on the free site. I get absolutely nothing on Match. I believe they control who sees you and whether or not you have a good experience or not. I can't believe this company is still in business. I hope they see their downfall very soon as they are liars and crooks.

Scammed

Banned my account after I opened a claim to my credit card company for unauthorized charge. I found the way to contact them using the online website, I tried in the app but not possible after deactivating account. I deactivated account because my credit card was unauthorized charged. I turned off auto renewal about 5 months ago, I hided my profile. Before I paid subscription I used it for"free" and I was banned for no reason, had login issues, had to contact support many times. The app has nice futures and a lot of users but there are similar apps out there. I don't recommend it.

Appalling

Where do I start ? Gamification rather than actually hooking you up with s/one (the point of it). They lost one of the few match conversation threads, really annoyed me. Appalling in the app to go back...so you have to start at the top to scroll down views. The site went down for a day and further problems. Seven of the 14 matches were users whose profile was taken down. I used this site 10 years ago AND IT HAS GONE DOWN THE DRAIN. No one to contact...eg the missing thread.

MATCH locked out then kept taking money.

I was unable to write a review without giving 1 star or they would get zero. Customer service is useless. Same story as many tell here. Locked out of account, no way to cancel with "support" completely uninterested in helping cancel, all whie they continue to bill me. They've taken hundreds and finally I have them canceling my account and only refunding a prorated amount. It's unethical at best though I'm no lawyer, it seems criminal to me.

Massive fail with App upgrade

I was perfectly happy with this app until a week ago they rolled out a forced app upgrade on my android phone. This should not have been released. The filters on searches no longer work properly. All people who had liked me appeared as new again and I had to open each one fir it to unregister as new. The customer support initially recommended a delete and re-install and this did nothing to fix the problems. I have requested a refund or compensation as they have rendered the app hard to use. Big home goal for Match.com they should have done much more testing before releasing this rubbish.

ABSOLUTE RUBBISH

I rejoined match.com after a break. They took my subscription quick enough, but I've no access in any way.im still stuck as if I never paid. I got the standard reply, I've emailed them a few times since then with no reply. After reading people's concerns on trust pilot. I think it should be investigated and shut down permanently. Obviously they cant run a tap, never mind a dating site
