Is the free monitoring offer an empty gesture?
I was offered two years of free monitoring by IDX for a data breach.
I was able to enter my name, address, email and phone number. I was then told to enter a security code that reportedly was sent to me to complete the setup.
I was not sent any security code, and there appears to be no way to contact the company for help.
There is no contact phone number, email or "Contact Us" link.
Overaall, it is totally useless.
Don’t waste your time with IDX
There was a possible data breach of information so I was notified and the company offered 2 years of credit monitoring with IDX.
So far I have repeatedly tried to verify my account and finish setting it up only to be met with the same error on repeat. Despite providing all of the information I consistently get the error “We are having trouble verifying your identity. If the problem persists please email us.” I have now emailed them 4 times and have gotten no auto acknowledgment and certainly no acknowledgment by an actual IDX employee.
I’m not in the habit of begging places to allow me to sign up for their services. Evidently IDX doesn’t need new business and they have just lost mine. I will be reaching out to the original company that notified me about my possible data breach. That company needs to know that you will get no credit monitoring through IDX because they don’t care enough to respond. Instead I will encourage them to use Experian's IdentityWorks as I have now signed up for their credit monitoring.
Steer clear!
They keep emailing me to verify my account but when I try, it won’t let me and every time I reach out to them, they put the blame on me or the credit bureaus, but never where it should be with them and their faulty technology. They even sent me a link to review them and that link doesn’t work Wanting me to disable ads I don’t even have. Steer clear ! These guys r big trouble !
Not alert notification!!!…
Opened a credit card and immediately received notifications from my other two monitoring companies except from IDX!!!
(Experian credit company was utilized).
Called the customer service 24 hours later and notified IDX of the issue. I was told there’s nothing they could do about it! I asked to escalate my concern in case someone at IDX is interested to know about it; I was told no one else can provide me with any additional information.
It appears that no one cares at IDX about their performance.
Change Health cyberattack is legit
The Change Health cyberattack is legitimate and the credit monitoring service is too, whether you use it or not. I do agree that for IDX to ask us for more sensitive information so they can "monitor" your information is kind of like letting the "fox watch the henhouse." However, I did sign up but I won't be entering more than my name. If you want to confirm that this cyberattack is legitimate, you can confirm by searching for "Change Health" at usa.gov.
IDX and Change Health are a Scam
I finally resorted to reading all the reviews here which support my experience. I think IDX and Change Health and the reported data breach are all a hoax. I have a ticket number unanswered despite multiple attempts on my part to reach out to IDX. I have mailed hard copies of my interactions with IDX to Change Health with zero response. Who can we trust any more?
I was also offered two years free…
I was also offered two years free credit monitoring with IDX due to the Change Health Care data breach. I started second guessing my decision when the form asked for lots of sensitive information, so I searched for reviews. Thank goodness I found this forum, I stopped right away. If this is you as well, remember to delete any data you've already entered.
Worst identity protection, monitoring service EVER!
I was offered IDX monitoring and protection service after a Change Health Care data breach. From day one, they have not gotten my information correct or even confirmed that I am, well, me! After a month of 'so called monitoring service' they asked for a review, which is astonishing considering they have never responded to a single email from me asking them to correct this problem. Numerous calls to their helpline resulted in conversations from employees who say they are unable to 'update' or 'correct anything.' Seriously? This company is a joke, and doesn't know how to sign a customer up for monitoring service, let alone how to offer identity protection. I have a separate monitoring plan that is not with IDX that has already alerted me that my data is on the dark web. And yet the idiots at IDX are blissfully ignorant. USE ANY OTHER SERVICE OUT THERE. Don't use IDX they are a complete waste of time.
Change Healthcare is a Scam
I got a letter from Change Healthcare saying my information may have been stolen. I signed up, but the confirmation email went to spam. That was the first red flag.
It immediately said my information was on the dark web. Red flag #2.
Then I came here and saw all the other negative reviews. Yep, I stopped right there and didn't give them any more information.
Thank god I’ve found this reviews…
Thank god I’ve found this reviews because I was almost tempted to sign in
I thought 2years of free monitoring? What could be wrong ?
Thank you everybody for your reviews
One star is too generous!
One star is too generous!
I called the number that was on the letter that I received, supposedly from Change Healthcare. The lady i spoke with said she was from IDX. When I expressed my concern that this could be a scam, the representative claimed they were a third-party service hired by Change Healthcare, but she couldn't provide the company responsible for my data breach. She said the letter I received, if it didn't specify meant it was a "generic" letter. I told her that was the dumbest thing I'd ever heard and that a legitimate company will always keep records and someone should be able to tell me, not specific details, but at least provide a company name. She couldn't provide any useful information, which was a huge red flag. She also tried to argue that the number on the letter wasn't for Change Healthcare but for IDX, even though the letter clearly had Change Healthcare's contact details.
To top it off, the letter I received wasnt even on actual copy paper. I literally is the cheap, flimsy, multipurpose shiny paper they aell at Dollar General, which further raised my suspicions. Lack of transparency and useful information was plenty to confirm my suspicions. This has SCAM written all over it. It is just a way to obtain an individuals personal information rather than help.
**Beware!**
Customer service non existent
I received a new security breach in the mail. I tried to send them a message to extend my service for the new breach. No response. I called and they said wait until current subscription expires and try again. Zero luck and total waste of time.
Thanks Trustpilot
Thanks Trustpilot. My wife got a letter from Change saying there was a breach in February at portion of her med provider she never used. I got a similar letter from Forth about a week later just saying there was a network breach in May without any hint of what. Both said contact IDX. Antenna went up. Looked for a telephone number -nada; then found this site, read the reviews and wrote this review and put the letters in recycling
As the Who sang, “Don’t be fooled again”
I was informed of a data breach at…
I was informed of a data breach at Change Healthcare and my information my have been taken. At nearly the same time, my credit card company said they had found my Social Security number on the dark web. I have logged hours of hold time on the IDX phone system and sent two emails. I also tried to sign up online but I never receive the conformation email to continue the process. I've started to worry the company could be hackers mining my information.
Useless
Useless. Credit monitoring alerts 2 months later
No Dark web alerts
Ridiculous
Ridiculous, useless and possibly harmful service. I received this monitoring service free as a result of a data breach. Somebody is paying for this but they are throwing their money away.
The alerts, when I get them, are useless. They say things like “You have an alert”. When I go to the site, there is no additional information. I was told that I had 20 exposures but no info as to what, when, or what anybody is doing. I too have written to them with no response. As others have said, they asked for more information than other identity protection services. No sooner I give them my info, Discover warns me that my social security number has been exposed. By the way, I’m not paying for any identity protection through Discover. This is just the free stuff they offer. What’s wrong with this picture?
IDX Scam
Supposedly, there was a data breech through my PCP office and IDX was hired by my PCP office to provide 2 years of free credit monitoring. However, I became skeptical when I received their enrollment email asking me for every private piece of information about me except my DNA!!
I am enrolled in another credit monitoring program due to a data breech by one of my credit card company's; NEVER was I asked for my SS# or other PRIVATE PII.
I then decided to see if my PCP office was contracted with "Change Healthcare", guess, what? They're not! How do I know this? I used to work for my PCP office and still have friends there, including partners and upper management.
So, I can only surmise, this is a complete scam and IDX is probably the villain here.
Great experience so far
I was reluctant upon reading 40 one star reviews on trustpilot, but realized it was 40 of 40 reviews. I spoke to an IDX customer service representative named Kayla who put my fear to rest and patiently (I’m 72 years old and a tech idiot) walked me through the process, explaining each step. I think I’m good. If not I will revise this review.
Same thing everyone else says about…
Same thing everyone else says about IDX. Received the letter from Change Healthcare. Started the IDX monitoring, I can't get past the verification process. Finally got some one on the phone who agreed with everything I said and offered no help. They don't respond to emails. They ask questions that don't apply to me and then lock me out. This has been going since October 7, 2024.
My banking facility had a data breach and the offered a FREE IDX. Rotten service
My banking facility had a data breach. They gave me a 12 month free data monitoring from IDX. Then, about 10 months later, a different bank, also had a data breach and they too offered me an IDX monitoring service for free. I tried to sign in to my account, as instructed by the second bank's letter, and was unable to do so. I then called the IDX phone number on the bank's letter. The customer service IS HORRIBLE. Could barely understand the IDX rep, and in the background there were lots of other voices and whatnot. The IDX rep was rude and kept saying, "It's not my fault, this is a call center" when I would ask him to repeat or clarify what he said. Then, he adjusted my existing account and it now wants me to pay for a monthly subscription! I was totally frustrated with the rotten service. I would never pay for such crummy customer service, and such poor products.
