Today I received my sofa and chair and I'm so happy. The two men who delivered them were Carl F. and Lee R. and they chatted to me as they placed the furniture and gave me all the information I needed. They were both exceptionally kind to this old woman and after their help I've enjoyed a wonderful evening relaxing in my new chair. Thank you for exceptional service in the showroom too.

Amanda provided excellent customer service.

Ordered two chairs one week apart, sales assistants were very helpful. I was assured both chairs would arrive together and despite further assurance of this from head office only 1 chair arrived on due date. Delivery men were most helpful and organised another delivery date the following week for the second chair.
Both chairs were as ordered although I was encouraged by assistant to buy the arm covers at the cost of £80 for one chair. These covers were disappointing as although they fitted on top of arms the sides hang loose and flap about. I would not recommend the covers to anyone else.

Nothing but praise for HSL Blaydon. Helpful staff who went out of their way to help me find the right chair. Also a shout out to the delivery team Craig and Mark who arrived promptly and were friendly and professional.

A team of 3 helped me with my purchase of 2 swivel chairs and a team of 3 delivered them. The entire process was seamless. All staff were friendly, knowledgeable and a pleasure with which to do business. I highly recommend HSL in Newcastle. I also highly recommend the Stressless swivel chairs!

Waited 13 weeks for two Himola chairs - a new computer system apparently failed to notify us at 12 weeks!
Staff at Newcastle store were pleasant and helpful, as were the delivery men Ian and Paul.
All in all a good experience.
But..

Buying from HSL was a pleasure from start to finish, from Tim at the Newcastle stores friendly, helpful manner and great product knowledge to the efficient, friendly delivery from Carl and Lee we would highly recommend HSL to other people and wouldn't hesitate to buy from in the future.

My daughter and I visited the HSL shop on Chainbridge Road in Newcastle upon Tyne.
We were looking for a leather recliner for my husband who is in a care home. We needed a leather one but unfortunately we hadn’t realised that they are much more expensive than the upholstered ones.
We enquired if they sold second hand ones but they didn’t. However, they suggested that they might have a showroom recliner chair which would be reduced.
The two assistants Alison and Amanda tried another Branch but without success. They were very kind and helpful and in the end got permission to sell us the beautiful cream leather recliner that we had been looking at for a reduced price.
We were so very happy. It doesn’t happen very often that sales assistants will really put themselves out to try and accommodate a buyer.
I would certainly recommend this shop and will definitely come back here in the future.

We bought our chairs from the Newcastle Branch. Emma was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. The ordering and payment process was smooth, and customer service was available and helpful. Waris and David delivered the chairs today. They were on time, set up the chairs, and gave us plenty of time to understand the control. We are impressed with this company.

We were sold a setee given expert advice by the salesperson, the setee was made and delivered in under a month . A beautiful piece of furniture brought in and set up by two lovely men Paul and Jon

Our lovely new Lucca three seater sofa finally arrived today. The first sofa was found to be damaged upon inspection by the delivery team who insisted it be returned. Today’s replacement is perfect and so comfortable. Delivery team Paul and John were friendly and quickly brought in and assembled the sofa after moving existing furniture to another room. Nothing was too much trouble. We await delivery of a smaller two seater Lucca sofa. My only advice to prospective buyers, be patient, it’s worth the wait😀

Helpful knowledgeable and patient staff in the showroom who made us feel very comfortable.
Delivery staff were also very polite and gave a demonstration on how to use the riser/recliner chair.

Amanda assisted us today and achieved the perfect chair fit for my father. Her excellent product knowledge made the experience so much easier. She explained every detail clearly to my parents. There was no forced sales pitch just pure help and expertise. Thank you Amanda and can’t wait for my father to receive his chair and have the comfort he deserves.

Fully informed about when my chair was going to be delivered. Delivery team, Carl & Damion, were very polite and efficient.

We visited HSL in July and bought a Aysgarth dual rise & recline with 4 motor chair and a Helmsley standard leg chair. We were delighted with the time Susanne spent with us guiding us to the correct chairs to suit Dad. They were delivered yesterday by Alex and Graham. They put the chairs in place and showed us the operation of the chair making sure Dad understood how it worked. It’s not our first experience of HSL, we bought a tilting bed several years ago.

Alex and Graham arrived exactly on time to deliver our chairs which they carefully unpacked and placed in position. The mechanisms were explained on the both the chairs and the footstools which was most helpful. Now we can just sit back, swivel, but most importantly relax!!

Excellent customer experience in the Gateshead/Blaydon store. Afforded ample time to look around without being pestered. Offered a drink on arrival, which was welcome. Amanda came and gave advice when directly asked and was not at all pushy. I wasn’t unnecessarily directed to products I had no interest in, as had been the case in competitor retail outlets.

I returned for a second visit and was assisted by Tim. The store was similarly immaculately presented. Very clean and uncluttered. Quote given/updated on each occasion and printed out to take away to consider.

Returned for a third and final visit - as this was a considerable and important purchase - before pulling the trigger. At no point did I feel under any pressure to go ahead. I strongly suspect HSL staff aren’t on commission, which is welcome (especially given the demographic this retailer typically serve). Don’t be put off by that though, they sell quality products that meet all tastes. My purchase was for a Stressless recliner and it was the best deal available on this or similar products, and with a greater range of sizes/styles than elsewhere.

Overall 10/10 customer service and staff expertise. I would not hesitate to recommend.
