I have been a Howdens customer for nearly 30 years but after today never again! I rang for a quote for my new car their quote was ridiculous £770 (I am 62 years old full no claims) And to add insult to injury they are charging me £50 to cancel my policy! From of a policy that cost £340 just 5 months ago I’m getting a £76 refund!!!! I went onto Compare the Market got my insurance for £340 WITH AA cover! So the moral of this tale is shop on line don’t trust a business you have been loyal to over many years as it really doesn’t pay! Howdens deserve to go out of business and I hope they do and won’t rip people off anymore!

Motordirect branch of Howden insure our Motorhome. All the staff I have dealt with have been helpful. The phone is answered quickly. I have spoken with Kelsea and both Vicky’s. They answer all questions clearly and nothing is too much trouble to explain.

Excellent customer service. Dealt with Kesh who went out of his way to help and nothing was a problem which is rare nowadays.

I spoke to Frankie who was very helpful and informative. He was very patient with me and explained the policy details. Would definitely recommend Howdens and I will be speaking to Frankie again for a quote when my car insurance is due for renewal

Just moved house. I was charged £63 in admin charges for my campervan insurance. If you think you are going to make any changes mid policy, you really need to check their terms and conditions on admin charges, they are eye watering. This will include adding drivers, removing drivers, moving house. Be aware.

Will was good humoured and kind throughout the call, and despite me having a tricky driving history managed to find me a competitive quote. It was brilliant getting through to a human being without any telephone menus, and throughout the call Will displayed a thorough knowledge of the insurance quote process and was able to help me with sensible answers to questions no other insurance brokers had been able to help me with. I feel confident that the quote he has provided me with is based on full and sound information, that I have declared everything honestly and that if I accept the quote there won't be any nasty lashbacks later - this was very important to me. Facing renewal of any insurance is anxiety provoking if one wants the extra confidence that comes from speaking to an actual person - a rare commodity these days.
I was fortunate to speak fairly speedily with Sam who patiently went through the process of finding me a home contents package to suit my situation. He did this with admirable efficiency as well as courtesy and made me feel he was an advocate for me not just a Howden’s representative and advocate. That is also a rare quality these days.
