Zero stars should be an option

I wish I would have listened to these reviews. I ordered from them through Walmart instead of directly, thinking it would protect me from the awful experiences others have had... WRONG. They delayed my delivery three times until I threatened to leave a bad review if my order wasn't delivered in the next week. When they saw this, they cancelled my order all together & now my family of 5 will spend yet another month without furniture as we have to start this process all the way over again with a new company. Absolutely horrible company & the delivery service they use as well, Metropolitan Warehouse, is equally as terrible. I'm a read all reviews type of girl, please read this & STAY AWAY!

They let me keep it and gave me a discount since it had already been shipped.

The WORST company - AVOID!!

The WORST company you can possibly order from. They sent us defective/broken dining room chairs - we paid $1,600 for a set of 4.

I mean the WORST customer service for something at this price point that I have ever experienced. We tried to reach out multiple times and only received 1 response during those times that was totally insufficient. The rest of the times they ignored us.

STAY AWAY - do NOT purchase anything from them.

As with most reviews about this company, we have experienced the same problems. No communication, no confirmation of shipping, no customer service to help. They take your money and then ignore your requests for updates. Do NOT order from them!

DO NOT TRUST THIS BUSINESS THEY WILL TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOUR DISABILITIES

I only purchased my bed because they offered the fastest delivery. THIS IS A LIE. What should have been delivered on the 13th is not being delivered on the 21st because Homesquare lie to you so you make a purchase. The delivery company explained their policy to me and clearly Homesquare provide fake information. I have severe PTSD, anxiety, a mass that recently was found and weakness/pain throughout my body. I actually explained this to them and why it’s so important for me to get the bed as soon as possible. THEY OBVIOUSLY STILL LIED AND DID NOT HAVE ANY CONCERN AT ALL FOR THE DETRIMENTAL BALANCE OF MY HEALTH. This is near evil and atrocious. I have ended up in the ER three times in the past week from medical episodes. These people are heartless and ruthless. Customer service is clearly nonexistent.

HomeSquare is just another name for thief

HomeSquare does not accept returns (even on defective items) and you will be ignored if you reach out to their customer service.

I made the unfortunate decision of ordering two chairs and a loveseat from HomeSquare. Both the loveseat and one of the chairs were defective on arrival, making assembly an exercise in futility.

Their website claims that they accept returns and damaged or defective items are exempt from restocking fees and return shipping costs. That is a lie.

When I reached out to initiate a return, HomeSquare provided a return address but insisted that I cover the return shipping costs. These shipping costs were almost as high as the original purchase price.

I attempted to communicate with their customer service team, hoping for a glimmer of reason or integrity. Instead, my requests for prepaid return labels or the coverage of return shipping costs — as per their own policy — were met with the resounding silence.

Do not order from this company if there is the slightest chance you will need to return the product for any reason. You will not receive a response or a refund.

Wrong Color Table, same as review from 4/18/23 except I ordered natural and got walnut. I emailed with a member of their sales team before purchasing because the website pictures are wrong for the color product. Now the customer service says it's color variation. No, it's walnut, not what I was told to order!!! They will not send me the right product unless I pay to return the wrong product. I should have paid a little more and purchased from Wayfair.

Lamps ordered were not as representated in pictures- supposed to be silver but we’re horrible bright gold. False advertising! Even though wrong color I am told I have to pay to ship/buy insurance which is such a scam. Update: After weeks of speaking to Walmart help line they decided to side with Homesquare and I will NEVER buy another thing from that store.

Wrong Color Table

This Table that I ordered is not the color as represented in the photos and instruction. It is very light colored not walnut . Not only that they ship completely wrong item first time and even second time they not send correct item. What is more Home Square doesn’t cover return shipping costs even if the product is incorrect and places tons of stipulations and roadblocks to getting a return. My recommendation is buy from a different and reputable company. Just do yourself a favor and avoid them at all cost!

Item not as Advertised

Buyer beware. This chair that I ordered is not the color as represented in the photos. It is very light colored - off white. And, what is more Home Square doesn’t cover return shipping costs even if the product is incorrect and places tons of stipulations and road blocks to getting a return. My recommendation is buy from a different and reputable company. I also tried to submit two reviews and they refused them. So, I will review them here. Just do yourself a favor and avoid them at all cost! Wish I had googled them for reviews in advance. I would have saved myself a lot of heartaches and wasted money!

NO customer service!!

I ordered a really expensive sofa from this company. They sent me an email with some trucking company that I cannot Google and find, and when I click on the link for the tracking, it asked me to enter in a number but there's no place to enter the number. I called them to find out where my sofa is as my credit cards already been billed and I get an answering machine that tells me to send an email and wait a day or two. There's a reason this company has lousy reviews on the Internet.

Poor customer service-false advertising

I had the misfortune of making a purchase from Homesquare. When the item arrived it was not the colour that was advertised. They would not stand behind their product despite sending pictures and even stating in an email to me the colour it was “supposed” to be. Clear case of false advertising and a gross lack of customer service. We had to drive over an hour to do a return at our expense. Apparently the poor ratings online for this company are well earned and we will never make a purchase from Homesquare again.

Purchased last week...Pain in the butt this week!

UPDATE:
Since leaving this review, I was contacted by Homesquare's customer service and they ultimately ended up crediting me half the cost of the unit for my troubles. They were very nice -- though I should say that they contacted me as a result of this review, not the emails I sent to their customer service. They also offered to pick up the unit and bring me a new box, but I did NOT want to put it together again. In the long run, I'd recommend them for "get what you pay for" furniture. But if you're a person who wants problem free but aren't willing to pay more, I'd look elsewhere. For me, it worked out okay. Not enough for me to add stars, but not enough for me to remove them. They deserve the ding to their ratings, but also credit noted for the eventual attempts to make it right.

Last week, I purchased two pieces of bedroom furniture from Home Square. Having never heard of them, I did a little research. Finding mixed reviews, I chose to move forward because I really did like the pieces I was buying and they weren't available everywhere. Home Square also had a good price. That's on me. I choose to proceed despite mixed reviews.

The ordering was easy enough, and the purchase confirmation was emailed quickly. However, I received four different emails confirming the items were shipped. The first two were identical, the second two now showed an additional item that I DID NOT order. Same order number, different tracking number (oddly enough.)

Hoping to remedy this as soon as possible, I looked for a customer service number to call. When you call, you WILL NOT be able to speak to a person. The only option for residential purchases is email. I thought maybe I'd sign in to my Home Square account and check to see if I could get to the bottom of this mistake, but my password did not work. So I clicked Forgot Password and was sent an email to reset it. When I clicked the link to reset, I was sent to webpage with a "404. Page Not Found" error message. So I can't talk to a person, I can't go online and find answers, so I sent an email to the customer service email address (which is cs at homesquare dot com -- had to spell it out here because this site doesn't let you have email address in your reviews) -- my only recourse for help. The message on the phone tells you it could take up to 48 hours to get a response. Not enough time to help you solve the problem.

Is this the end of the world? No. And if it all works out, I'll ultimately be glad I made the purchase. But it's stressing me out and making for a terrible shopping experience and most definitely will not use Home Square or Cymax again. It's just not worth it when there are tons of other options out there. That's why I gave two stars. If this works out, I'll be fine -- and, I purchased from this site knowing the reviews were mixed. But the annoyance alone is worth the removal of the other three stars. If this doesn't work out and things get more difficult, I'll be back on here to update my review to one star.

Update:02-17-23 today I called and was able to speak to customer service. They gave the option to return/replace or accept a 25% return off the purchase price. Glad they were willing to take responsibility.

Unfortunately I did not read the reviews before I purchased 2 book cabinets. Both were damaged. I immediately emailed photos to their customer service with no response. If I call the number listed, you can place an order with a live person, if you need to speak with customer service it says email us and we’ll get back to you. No response in days… that speaks volumes.

Home Square crooks/very bad company

It has been over 1 year that I’ve been fighting with this company to resolve my issue regarding a refund. This is the worst company ever! Never, never ever buy anything from this company they are a sham, linked with bestbuy possibly fraudulent company however Bestbuy won’t help and they won’t help. I have lost all confidence in Bestbuy also over this issue. I purchase one office chair on the Best Buy website and I cannot get resolution neither from BestBuy or this horrible fraudulent home square company. I have been dealing with the so called “Reputation Manager” who promised many things to resolve my issue, the last thing they asked for was my bank info. Account number etc., so they can send the funds direct to my bank account which never came…then they stop responding. I have been dealing with Travis ..he lies and makes you think he will resolve the issue he has even offered me a daybed that never came wow!! I simply cannot believe that this company exist in Canada. One Promise “ As I have previously stated a few times now.
We are unable to refund more than what you paid on the website you made the purchase on.

In our prior conversations, when we had suggested a wire transfer, you were not willing to provide us with any banking details.

After checking with our Finance Team, we also cannot issue any type of cheque.

Here is a full comprehensive overview of the full communication that took place with this buyer -
The order was placed on December 8th, 2021 for 1 x Flash Furniture High Back Office Chair in Brown.
Tracking was provided ( Fedex - 287284133125 ) from the manufacturer on December 8th, 2021. Said tracking was automatically sent to the buyer at this time. Seller records show that the item was picked up by Fedex on December 9th, 2021 and delivered to our border agent on December 13th.
On December 14th, 2021 – The seller received a cancel request from a 3rd party Marketplace. (As requested from the buyer)
On December 14th, 2021 - Since the item was already shipped and more than 24hours had elapsed since the item had shipped, we were unable to cancel the shipment, the cancel request was declined and a discount of 20% was offered to the customer should they wish to keep the item.
On December 18th, 2021 – Our records indicate that the item was delivered without any issues reported.

On December 20th, 2021 - the seller received a response from the buyer requesting a return of the item.
On December 21st, 2021 - the seller responded asking the buyer if they would be interested in a 20% credit to keep the item. The seller also provided return instructions to the buyer including the return location and advising that the return cost would be at the discretion of the buyer.
On December 27th, 2021 - after several more messages from the buyer, the seller once again advised the buyer that the return shipping costs were the responsibility of the buyer. The seller also asked the buyer to provide return tracking information once the item was shipped back. The seller also advised the buyer to drop off the item themselves if this was possible as an alternative option.
On December 30th, 2021 - after several more messages from the buyer, the seller once again advised the buyer that until the item was returned to the address provided, they are unable to assist with a refund.
On January 4th, 2022, the seller provided instructions to donate the item, once donated, the seller would then refund the buyer.
On January 4th, 2022, the seller received a response from the buyer - “Canada post tracking #0103048001188652
On January 4th, 2022, the seller requested a picture of the receipt used for Canada Post.
On January 5th, 2022, the seller received a picture of a receipt showing payment for an item going to the same postal code as the return location. Cost of the return on the receipt stated - $53.72.
On January 6th, 2022, the seller refunded the buyer in full as per the return instructions provided. The seller advised that the buyer that the return costs would be unable to be refunded.
On January 28th, 2022, after many more messages from the buyer, the seller once again advised that there was nothing more that could be done since the order was refunded in full and to contact Best Buy.
On February 25th, 2022, the seller reached out because of the negative feedback provided on the order for follow up.
On February 25th, 2022, the buyer was advised that the order had been refunded in full and that there was no way to provide the buyer with any additional refunds through the website this was purchased on.
Notes:
The item was 6 days into the shipping process when the cancellation request was received which is why the cancellation request was denied.

As a gesture of goodwill, the seller offered a $100 refund to the buyer if they could provide direct deposit information to close the issue. This is the ONLY avenue we will be able to close the issue with. As of today 02/15 after calling the buyer, the seller received the necessary info to process $100 to the buyer. The seller considers this case as closed, no further contact will be conducted.

On time, great price, good quality! Happy customer!

I was so excited to find a cabinet that was the perfect size for my project at such a great price that I didn't check the reviews first! When I saw the poor reviews and found the links on my confirmation email didn't work, I feared the worst! However, my cabinet arrived on time and in perfect condition (even though the packaging was a little damaged). Considering the price, the quality was great! The instructions were very good, and I am very pleased with my new cabinet.
For price / quality, on time delivery, packaging and instructions I would give 5 stars. But I take a star off for the worry caused by poor communication.

This is a sham company

This is a sham company. I ordered two chairs and one of them was destroyed by FEDEX. I have emailed photos and documents multiple times. It is impossible to talk to a human and they do not respond. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM HOMESQUARE. They are inhumane.

Wrong product delivered and now no product

Ordered two twin bed frames in November '22 for about $1500. Mid December two giant wardrobes were delivered. Obviously wrong thing so we refused the order. Tried contacting the company but you can only email. The phone number provided doesn't go anywhere. They got back to us after a week and said they would have to have pictures taken and that it would go to a review board. They sent me a tracking number December 23 '22 saying that new items had been shipped. Tracking number doesn't work. Tried contacting them again and they said they would check into it. It's now Jan 18 '23 and no word from them. Trying to get my money back at this point. Worst customer service and this whole thing has been frustrating. Don't use this company!
