Hawkins MG knocks it out the park!

I couldn't be more impressed with the service offered by Evie when purchasing a vehicle!

From a wet Saturday afternoon when I was picking vehicles in awkward spots to test drive, through to Evie offering to bring a car to my house for me to look at it, it's clear that Hawkins put a focus on customer experience, and building long term customer relationships.

A special mention also goes to Kye and Harvey who both played their parts in getting the deal over the line.

Absolutely disgraceful, disabled people beware.

Absolutely. Diabolical company to have any interaction with. I have a modability car and I'm in a wheelchair. It's taken 6 weeks for my vehicle to be processed. And they have broken parts of the locking system for the wheelchair. It has now gone up to another company to be repaired. It's total 60 days I've been without my car and suffering with a hire car that I've had to struggle with. I'm absolutely appalled by their customer service. And their general attitude towards messing with things they ought not. They were requested to repair a reversing sensor. And ad blue light sensor they messed about with the locking system to do with my wheelchair, and it no longer worked I Sat in the rain for the rac to arrive due to the fact that they had left all of the faisa boards off the vehicle and had exposed wires and left for the other company to put back together
And the ramp failed to work after it had dropped, causing a hazard in the road i have now got the problem of the other company. Requesting payment for the breakage that hawkins did, and will not release the car until they are paid from Hawkins.

The salesman Peter

The salesman Peter, was excellent, he helped us find the best deal for us, he was clear and made any questions we had easy to understand, he kept us up to date and made the whole experience stress free.

Launceston Branch is fantastic won't do better

We are always pleased to deal with you at the Launceston branch.
Jon talked us all through the sale of our lovely kia sportage look after him he is a great asset as are all your staff the service is A1 customer comes first as we said well looked after will let you service it when ready nobody else is touching it 😀 x

Took out a new motability vehicle MG5…

Took out a new motability vehicle MG5 from Hawkins Motors Blackwater, was unhappy when I saw the car due to the amount of pitted rust on all the brake discs, I was treated like a complete fool when I complained. When I got home with the car I found there was a substantial amount rust on the rear sub frame as well as the front hubs, it turned out that the car was 2 years old from build date (was told this by an employee) I was told lies by the staff who were not helpful at all. I have since got another Motability vehicle from another dealer.

I am disappointed

I am disappointed. I have been a loyal customer since Hawkins sold me my Peugeot 2008 4 years ago. Not being a mechanic, I put my faith in them. I’m fully aware that they are not the cheapest but it was important to me that I could trust them to do the best for me. When they sold me the car, they pointed out that the wheels had delaminated but they were under warranty so they ordered some in for me. Then Covid happened and, with one thing and another, the wheels got returned. When I spoke to Hawkins, they did apologise and said that instead of fitting replacement wheels, they would delaminate and relaminate mine. Fair enough… but this still has not happened. I have been to them for regular services, mot etc. I can live with this - it’s just a set of wheels and purely aesthetic. What I cannot stomach is what happened recently. I took my car for a complete £400 service and Hawkins completed a health check as part of this. I sat in their cafe with a very nice coffee until their staff came to me and advised that my rear discs and brakes were below legal limit - do you want us to do this now? They quoted £390. I declined as I thought my local garage might be able to offer a lower priced option. They quoted £318 so I booked with them. Imagine my surprise when my local garage took one look and informed me that the rear discs and brakes were, in fact, ‘like new’ with 9mm at least on them. Of course, I emailed Hawkins straight away to query why they had told me that my discs and brakes needed replacing when they clearly didn’t. They haven’t to respond. THIS is my issue. Not only have they been dishonest but they have failed to reach out to me with an explanation. I’m sure there is one but at the moment it looks like they have fraudulently attempted to take my money and have left me in a position whereby I can no longer trust them. Therefore, I cannot recommend Hawkins to anyone- quite the opposite

Very pleasant to deal with

My wife has recently bought a second hand Kia Soul from the Hayle branch of Hawkins. We dealt with Adam ( a new salesman) and David, who was teaching Adam the ropes. 2 really nice guys, who went above and beyond to make the deal work. Nothing was too much trouble, no pressure sales, no problems. All went very well and we would happily recommend them.

Dreadful customer service

Dreadful customer service. Arranged to a new headlight installed weeks ago. Had an email the day before to say do not have the part. Rude person on the phone and no offer of an alternative solution. Will not be returning and it’s a shame as I have used Hawkins in the past.

Got a new car from here that broke down…

Got a new car from here that broke down after a few months, they have had the car for 5 and a half weeks now and still do not know what's wrong with it, was shown a photo of it with complete front end dismantled and was told they are working on it but not at the minute as they have other cars to fix as well, I would avoid this dealer I wish we had

Excellent after sales service

I bought a two-year-old Hyundai i10 from the St Austell branch of Hawkins. There had been a windscreen repair previously carried out, but it didn’t appear to be a problem. Shortly after, I noticed that the repair had failed, and the chip in the screen had re-appeared. I contacted Tom at Hawkins, and he arranged for the screen repair company to correct the problem, which they did. Then eleven months after I had bought the car, I noticed that the repair had failed again. I rang Tom at St Austell, half expecting to be told that there was nothing more they could do. Tom rang me back a few minutes later to say that the windscreen company could not carry out a further repair, and that under the circumstances, Hawkins would supply and fit a new windscreen. This, together with the first MOT and service has now been done. I must also add, that during my visit to Hawkins for this work to be carried out, everyone in the branch was extremely friendly, and couldn’t have been more helpful.

When things go wrong, the first impulse is perhaps to write a negative review. However, by the same token, such good service should also be recorded, as I for one, definitely appreciate the excellent and prompt service that I have received.
