Harwin Furniture Cancellation & Refund Dispute
I placed an order with Harwin Furniture on April 27, 2026 through Klarna for approximately $4,296. Before completing the purchase, I was verbally told the items were backordered. However, I was not given a confirmed delivery date in writing before purchase. After the purchase was completed, I was verbally told the backorder timeframe could be approximately 8 to 12 weeks. No written delivery date, shipment confirmation, or tracking information was ever provided.
I requested cancellation within 48 hours, before anything shipped or delivered. No tracking information was ever provided, and the company later confirmed in writing that the items were not in stock and not out for delivery at the time I canceled.
Their posted policy states cancellations within 48 hours qualify for a full refund with no fees, yet they withheld approximately $598 in “fees” anyway. I repeatedly requested the exact refund amount and written breakdown of deductions before they processed the cancellation.
Klarna adjusted the balance, but the merchant still retained part of the money despite no shipment, no delivery, and cancellation within the stated timeframe.
I have filed complaints with both the Texas Attorney General Consumer Protection Division and the Better Business Bureau regarding this matter. If anyone else has experienced similar issues, I strongly encourage you to document everything and file complaints as well.
My advice: get EVERYTHING in writing before purchasing, especially regarding backorders, cancellations, delivery timelines, and refund policies.
