Great bank for both Private & Commercial banking. You get to talk to humans - most of whom know you by name! Amazing & wonderful!
OK, not the cheapest nor the best deposit rates but first class for day to day banking.
Mobile app is 'OK' but a bit behind the curve in terms of features. Desktop app is fully featured.
Great customer telephone support too.

This refers to the Tunbridge Wells branch (aka North Kent) where Jon & his team work.

I deal with many banks the only one I can fully recommend is the Dartford office Christie Julie and Charlotte are so helpful and the bank gives an excellent service well done

The service we receive from the Wrexham branch is fantastic the patience they have is second to none.
No comparison to the other high street banks, they are head and shoulders above, the beauty is, the branch will deal with the query you have & we get a punctual service. Janet

The personal service we receive from the Wrexham branch is excellent. Pro-active help from Rebecca recently made our life so easy - we have her direct number and one call always does the job! Thank you to all the staff at Wrexham who know us, know our business and are always on hand to help.

Spoke with Di Jones at the Lincoln Branch. Genuine enquiry. All KYC available, business information could be substantiated. She was not aware of terms relating to banking instruments. Convo resulted in feeling like a common criminal....which I am not. By all accounts working on Government contracts means nothing to Handelsbanken. Maybe she needs some product training as well as attitude training.

I have worked closely with Joanne Gretton-Jones for a 12 month period in relation to house sale and purchases. Jo has been attentive, responsive and a pleasure to deal with. Her team have also been collaborative and supportive. A great result and exactly why I continue to use Handelsbanken in preference to other providers.

Following up on my recent review I left for the company on 8 Aug 2025. I have shortly after received an letter from the Deputy Branch Manager from the Harrogate branch Adam and has not upheld my complaint which doesn't shock me, even though on the complaint I requested for the branch to not deal with my complaint and for Head Office but no this wasn't followed through. The reason they have stupidly they are closing my account is due to bounced payments which whatother bank does that, they don't show any support to their customers the Harrogate branch and after explaining when all my funds were coming into my new account with Handelsbanken they had no care in the world. Becare with this bank as they will close your account on any stupid reason and god help complaining about it.

I could not recommend Handelsbanken highly enough - I moved over about two years ago and have not looked back. It is a joy to ring your bank and speak to your own branch and be greeted you by name. They go above and beyond.

I have banked with Handelsbanken for about 15 years. In the first few years they were great. In the last couple of years it has gone steeply downhill. Ignorant bank managers, charging £20 per month for doing NOTHING for you. I have just changed banks, and they give me a premium account with a bunch of benefits and charge me nothing.

We all know banks have rules and quite rightly but, in my experienced business life, you need people who can find ways to really help you achieve what it is you need and, fight your corner , the bankers we have in the Truro branch are so innovative in their approach to problems of helping you create the funds you need for growth , it just encourages us to continue growing knowing we have them behind us helping not hindering . If your ideas are sound, they are for you !

Not particularly helpful. Looking for very wealthy people, something their website glosses over. As for Business accounts, email I received contained,
" in terms of the business side, usually we would expect a minimum balance of around £1million".
I am unsure what business has a million in its business account sitting there but I presume its not a small company or a sole trader, unless they are paying interest which I doubt? Their website is cosy, so good luck and a happy relationship.

The team at Handelsbanken dealt with our application very professionally and efficiently. We had a tight time frame to get the mortgage sorted. The team at Handelsbanken pulled all the strings to make it happen in the time frame we had.
We were given exceptional service that was personal which is extremely rare.

We moved to Handelsbanken 2 years ago after our previous bank closed their local branch. As a business customer a personal relationship with banking staff is of the utmost importance to us. We have been very impressed with everyone at the Truro branch, so helpful and accommodating and always a friendly, helpful voice at the end of the phone. Cannot fault them, hence my 5⭐️ review

Where other banks lend if the numbers work, Handelsbanken invest in the owners and that support has never wavered. We couldn’t be where we are now as a business without them. We have been with Handelsbanken for about 2 years and are so pleased we changed banks. It’s easy online banking the customer service is wonderful especially when telephoning as you get straight through to a member of the bank immediately.
