This is a real experience rating and feedback.

The experience from this agency, Andrew, was as far below average one can get and I have dealt with quite a few in different countries.

Andrew says he will come back to you, we never heard from him again until we had to let his agency go 4-5 months later.

* You never get to communicate with Shani, who looks after marketing
* The Admin did two viewings, tried but not familiar with the area unfortunately
* Andrew likes to mention he's a former private banker

In conclusion Andrew is more interested in plucking his strains than to be on top of making an easy sell of your property. After 5 mths we went with another Agency that sold our 5th floor Beach apartment with marvellous views of the Mediterranean, within 4 weeks.

I would highly recommend another agency if you are serious about selling your property.

We began looking with Ursula from Hamilton Homes on 12 November 2024. We had a fairly good idea of the general area that we wanted to buy in. The way the system works in Spain means that all agents have access to all properties. They have their own listed, which obviously they would prefer to sell, but they can access any other and share the commission with the one that has it on their books. This means that you really only need to have one agent. This is the opposite of the UK where you can end up contacting several agents to view all sorts of different properties.

I would suggest you make Hamilton Homes that agent. We had a splendid day with Ursula, viewed about 6 or 7 properties and actually found our dream home that day and put an offer in the following day.

We were cash buyers and as Andrew predicted and to my amazement we were actually ready to exchange contracts before Christmas. We officially bought on 27 December 2024, but in many ways the service from Hamilton Homes kicked in fully as we made plans to move from UK on 5 February 2025.
They organised and set up our WiFi in advance. They also visited and turned the heating on a couple of days in advance of our arrival. They have been available to answer questions and sort out all sorts of teething issues during our first weeks in the property.

In short it has all been a great experience and it is particularly appreciated as we make a new life in a new country where there is still at times a significant language barrier.

We originally started working with two realtors in the Malaga region, one of whom was Hamilton Homes, as we tried to figure out what area and property would best suit us for our transition to a future life in Spain. After a recce visit to the area by my wife and the opportunity to meet representatives of both companies it became clear that Nerea from Hamilton Homes exceeded our expectations and made the choice an easy one.
I was introduced to Nerea and Andrew on my wife’s return over a WhatsApp call and left that conversation feeling we made the right choice.
Our first trip together to look at properties started with a face to face with Nerea and Andrew and the setting of expectations from both sides which I appreciated. Andrew’s deep experience and knowledge of the local property market was both enlightened and insightful, and he was able to answer all our questions and provide some good perspectives we hadn’t considered. He introduced us to a local property lawyer who represented us very well overall in the purchase process.
With Nerea assigned to us we spent the next eight days looking at properties within the catchment area we set and eventually found a penthouse apartment that met our needs.
Andrew negotiated a small discount on the asking price and we were ready to commit when an unexpected conversation with Andrew led us to consider the ‘transition’ costs of buying a property with the intention of upgrading in the future should everything work out. The property taxation costs of buying, selling then buying again were significant and something we just hadn’t considered. It made a huge difference to our perspective and long story short led us to a villa that we saw ourselves in some years down the road. It simply wouldn’t have happened without the Hamilton Homes team input and support.
Since our purchase Nerea and the team have continued to support us in transferring service contracts etc, and providing us with a sense of confidence that all is ‘in hand’ in our absence.
From our first introduction to closing on our property Andrew and Nerea have been totally professional, yet comfortably familiar enough to make the whole process virtually stress free. We never once felt any pressure, on the contrary we always felt the focus was on our best interests.

The team at Hamilton were fabulous for helping us sell our much loved Spanish home . They were able to give us advice on improving its saleability and put us in contact and arrange reliable decorator, lawyer and removal company . When we arrived one time, we actually had our car broken into and Andrew came straight round and called the place to see if there was any CCTV and also contacted the police and advised us where we needed to go to report it . The whats app group chat was really useful for timely communication . All in all we were super happy with the professionalism , the efficiency ( of what they could control) and generally really an affable team- whoever we dealt with that was from their team or who they connected us with . many thanks to Andrew and Debbie and the whole team .

We went with Andrew on our “Tapas tour” in order to get a feel for the area and type of property we wanted. The whole “Hamilton Crew” had worked with us via a specially created WhatsApp group in the lead up and Andrew listened very well to what we were saying, thus helping us to formulate our quiet specific criteria. We were especially impressed with Andrew’s local knowledge and advice beyond that of your typical estate agent. We are planning to return to the Costa del Sol in near future and hope to finalise our dreams with Andrew’s help.

I can recommend Hamilton - Holmes 100 %, they are reliable and do care of their clients. I was in the best hands with Caty and can recommend this real state with no doubt. Thank you so much.

Wir haben uns im Jahr 2023 dazu entschlossen im Bereich Costa del Sol eine Immobilie zu erwerben. Begonnen haben wir unsere Recherche bereits in Deutschland und sind dabei auf Hamilton Homes gestoßen. Die Kontaktaufnahme erfolgte absolut problemlos und wir fühlten uns vom Anfang an gut und kompetent beraten.
Im November und Dezember absolvierten wir dann einen längeren Urlaub an der Costa. Dabei beriet uns Andrew und seine Crew vorbildlich, besser kann man es sich nicht vorstellen! Und auch nach ca. 20-30 angeschauten Objekten ließ sein Eifer und Einsatz nicht nach. Wir erhielten so viele Vorschläge, die unseren Kriterien entsprachen, wie wir wollten.
Fazit: Wir haben genau das Objekt gefunden, nach dem wir gesucht haben. Und unser großer Dank gebührt Andrew und seiner gesamten Crew!

Everything happened so efficiently. Immediately I contacted them I was included in a WhatsApp group, everything was confirmed electronically and viewing organised. Prior to us leaving home, Andrew organised a Zoom call, which was most helpful.
When we met him in person for the first time, in July 2023, over a coffee prior to a day of viewing, he was very friendly, down to earth and professional.
He suggested we should leave our car. He then drove us to 10 properties, all of which fitted our brief. The credit also goes to other members of the team (Christina, Debbie and Shani) who obviously are knowledgeable and skilled researchers.
After a lovely, refreshing, much needed beachside lunch, we continued our search. Andrew remained pleasant, polite and professional, despite very hot temperatures.
He kept the best til last! We would have happily chosen 8 out of the 10 options, but have recently taken possession of our delightful, furnished apartment, and find it offers the feel good factor which we enjoy so much in our family home.

Fantastic experience with Andrew and the team. They have gone above and beyond during the whole process of buying our forever home in Spain.
From the very start, before we went over to Spain, we were given different property options to look at. All our preferences were considered and when we had 2 days of property viewings ( or a tapas as Andrew would say 😀) we were finally able to decide on a property we fell in love with!

We cannot thank Andrew and the team at Hamilton homes enough for their help as we considered buying a property in Sotogrande. They were incredibly responsive, proactive and highly efficient without ever being pushy. Andrew took the time to meet us virtually for a full hour ahead of our trip to fully understand who we are and what we were looking for. For different reasons (all of our own making), we had less than a day and half to visit properties but Andrew’s colleagues managed to set up a schedule that allowed us to see 19 properties of different types and locations. That may sound stressful be we never get rushed. Rather seeing that wide variety allowed us get a much clearer picture of what we were looking for, what was non-negotiable or merely nice to have.

Hamilton Homes has gone out of their way to produce a number of useful blogs and guides to explain the purchasing process in Spain as well as their own approach. They set out in a clear and pedagogical way sets what you can expect and how best to prepare yourself for the process.

Highly recommend anyone who is looking to get the help of someone who isn’t only looking at the commission but genuinely is looking out for your interests.

Words cannot express the service we received from Hamiltons. It was unbelievable. The communication from the whole team was first class and we were able to see a wide range of properties in a short space of time as viewings had been planned for us prior to arriving from the UK.
