I filled my ISA in the new tax year and…
I filled my ISA in the new tax year and was looking for another avenue to diversify into. I come across and clicked on an ad on social media and then repeatedly saw more over the coming days. I checked out Hackstons YouTube (both entertaining and informative. Very well put together) did the usual checks, companies house, etc. The registration process was professional and straightforward. I spoke with Ricki on multiple occasions and as a sceptical individual, I felt in good hands. I decided to purchase a portfolio of 3 casks which I plan to hold at least 10 years, possibly 15. It's very early days but I am now feeling really optimistic to what prospects may come. 5 star!

Great for a newbie!
I have inherited and bought a few physical items in the past but I wouldn’t classify myself as an investor. Whisky was appealing because it made sense and it is something that has always been around me. I chose Hackstons because my account manager was respectful and more importantly human. I didn’t want to use a platform nor did I want to speak with someone who would complicate or overwhelm me. I look forward to coming to a future event and trying some of the whisky that I have bought.

My experience has been excellent from start to finish
I have spoken with 2 other companies and from my first conversation, I knew Hackstons was the right company to buy through. No pushy salesman, very keen to meet me in person and really explained the benefits of keeping my casks long term. Looking forward to discovering what the future holds.

Do your homework first
Recent conversations with a number of whisky companies. I have come to the conclusion that I was almost scammed by Sam. The price this outfit is charging is 3-6x the price for the same whisky.
Also they do not tell you where your whisky is and make you hold for 5 years. After reading “protectyourcask” I’ve come to my conclusion. Do your own homework.

We refute any claim of ever being involved in scams of any description. We take every effort to educate potential clients around cask whisky investment, so that they can avoid falling victim to scams, in fact it’s an incredibly important part of our process. While cask whisky is a market (like almost every market) with some unscrupulous individuals with nefarious intentions, we assure you we aren't one of them.
We've written several articles on how to avoid scams in the whisky investment market for several reputable publications.
We also have hundreds of 5-star Trustpilot reviews and video testimonials on our website that speak to the care we have every single one of our clients at each point of their journey. We take every opportunity to protect the industry we love, and that includes all of our clients, and would-be investors.
Regarding your mention on pricing, we never have any interest in pricing potential investors out of casks. In fact, we regularly monitor our prices against other organisations in order to ensure our prices are always competitive.
Finally, in terms of your comment on ‘making you hold for 5 years’, yes our minimum timeframe on holding your cask is 5 years, but this is made explicitly clear to every individual who explores working with us. The reason for this timeframe is wholly to benefit you as an investor. Ultimately, the whisky that you purchase needs time to mature and improve in quality, and we want to give every client the best opportunity to have their casks increase in value.
We want all of our clients to have a first-class experience with Hackstons from start to finish, whether that’s the tailored education you receive at the outset, the customer care you experience along the way, or the exit that you desire when you’re ready to sell your cask. Every part of our process is designed to give clients not just an experience that’s second-to-none, but a greater chance of achieving the results they are looking for when deciding to invest in cask whisky.

I have been guided by Samuel with my first investment in whiskey. So far the experience has been great. Sam is professional and attentive. Becoming an investor in whiskey has been exciting, interesting and easy....

Hope the market is as good as the the people workin in it
As this is my first time investing in Whiskey, Samuel has been patient, reassuring, not pushy at all and very professional. I enjoyed very much our conversations and how he adapted the conversations and proposals to my way of thinking in order to make it more understandable for a newbie. I was happy to invest and very curious about the results. Not only Samuel was very present during the process but still is despite the investment has already been done. Very happy with him and with the way the company select its people. Hope to have good returns and to be able to keep investing with them.

Professional, efficient and personal service
I've had an excellent experience with Hackstons so far. I recently signed up as a client and have bought my 1st barrel.
My account manager, Sam has been excellent. He is well informed, well engaged and always happy to answer any questions I have. The fact that they provide more information than needed gives a sense of comfort that they know what they are doing.
Time will tell how my assets perform and how the company engages when I wish to sell, but I am very optimistic and look forward to doing more in the future with them

So far, a great experience
So far, a great experience, having been looking at making an 'unusual' investment recently. Sam has been straightforward to deal with and is good at keeping things simple. We will see in 5-10 years how things progress! The KYC chat was good and set out some insights and plans going forward so feel fairly looked after.
