I have been a customer with Heritage for over 15 years and have worked closely with Xavier Chavez. Both Heritage and Xavier have been great to work with and I have been impressed by their customer service and the quality of their items. They are a fantastic auction house and would highly recommend them to anyone interested in purchasing or selling their collections.

Robert Fornesi and Heritage Auctions provided me the single best customer service experience I have ever had. Once I was connected with Robert, the consignment process for my handful of worthwhile Comic Books played out quickly and efficiently. Robert explained the entire process from the beginning, and then as we moved forward he kept it simple and laid out each next step, one step at a time. The consignment process all happened just the way it’s explained on their website, with Robert making sure the process was smooth all the way through. Each checkpoint in the process was as easy or easier than the one before it. The single biggest effort I made in consigning my valuables was packaging them securely to mail them across the country. Emailed them twice about having an invoice not reflect sales tax, since it is being shipped to Oregon. Ignored me for over a week, but they had no problem reminding me that if my invoice wasn't payed I'd accrue interest. On ebay it happens automatically, when it realizes your shipping address is Oregon. I will try my best to stick to ebay. Heritage is also confusing. Proxy bidding, and different layers to when an auction ends. Make sure you really calculate your winning bid also. Tax, buyers premium, shipping adds up. Oh and there is also a CC fee. Yet something else ebay doesnt have, since I use an ebay CC, which even gives me 5% cashback. Heritage = Unnecessary stress.

I would avoid this auction house as they are very unreliable and have horrible shipping practice and take no responsibility over problems that happen with the shipping company.
I won a watch thru them which was shipped to an address I provided (same address used before with no issue). However, this time, USPS didn't deliver it to the designated address but instead delivered to another address, VISIBLE in the proof of delivery.
HA refused to take any action to sort this issue (I am sure if they call USPS, they could sort it out) and is hiding behind this clause : "Buyer on lots designated for third-party shipment must designate the common carrier, accept risk of loss, and prepay shipping costs." — [T&C, Section.32]

Basically, they take zero accountability on shipping method they selected or use the shipping insurance to refund me back (I suspect they didn't insure the package properly).

All in all, bidding with Heritage Auction is very unreliable and their customer support practice is horrible. I'd avoid at all cost. There are many other auction houses that are much more reliable and deal with such issues in a better way.

In onze familie Blanckaert-Jacobs, waarvan mijn overgrootouders de twee cinemazalen EDEN en MONTY hadden in Leuven, hebben wij na de verkoop enkel de filmaffiches als aandenken bewaard!
Eén ervan kreeg altijd een vooraanstaande plaats bij mij thuis, en later bij ons mama, en bleek een klein schatje te zijn, SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS🤩

Ik was al jaren van plan eens al onze collecties ten gelden te maken als financieel steun voor onze moeder. Er waren vooral de filmaffiches en gesigneerde foto’s van de prachtige filmsterren van weleer, maar ook de mooie collectie van Suske en Wiske die ons mama en tante sinds hun jeugd vergaarden. Als kleine jongen was ik fier deze op mijn kamer te hebben, en ik ging nooit slapen zonder er één te lezen. Samen met mijn drie zussen wisten we onze schatten te appreciëren., maar voor onze kinderen hebben ze diezelfde betekenis niet meer, en passen helemaal niet in hun moderne leven.

Ik herinner mij de dag dat ik op afspraak kwam bij H.A. in Zaventem.
Samen met JACQUES PELS en JAN JORIS VISSER haalden wij mijn goed gevulde wagen leeg en brachten alles in hun kantoor. Niets dan passie voor alles wat ik mee had, en na een overzicht ging ieder op weg in zijn specifieke afdeling.
Jacques plant hoe de waarde van de Suske & Wiske’s best kan bovengehaald worden, en Jan neemt al metéén contact met H.A. America ivm de foto’s en affiches.

Het pronkstuk is sowieso Snow White, en er wordt beslist ze over te brengen naar Amerika om te restaureren en later te veilen.
Een foto van de affiche, met goed opgestelde bijhorende tekst, verschijnt in het boek van deze specifieke veiling met een geschatte waarde tussen 15.000$ en 30.000$.
Op 24 juli kijk ik live naar de veiling die spannend verloopt en afklopt op 28.000$, dus bovenaan de geschatte waarde. Onze familie is hier heel tevreden mee, en heeft grote bewondering voor de prachtige organisatie die Heritage Auction is!

De foto’s en andere affiches waren reeds verkocht in Europa, en nu onlangs hebben onze Suske en Wiske’s ook een mooi bedrag opgeleverd!
Dus tijd om H.A. ,en voornamelijk 💐Jacques Pels💐 even in de bloemetjes te zetten!

Ik vrees dat wij geen schatten meer in huis hebben, maar zal H.A. altijd aanraden bij vrienden die denken schatjes in huis te hebben.

Heritage Auctions did a fantastic job of cataloguing and auctioning an extensive family coin collection! Sarah Miller was excellent - knowledgeable, friendly, professional, honest, and always available to answer questions! If I need to auction anything, I'll go back to Heritage!!

I recommend EVERYONE avoid these scammers and liars. After a year, we fought for our thousand dollars, and after threats from lawyers, they suddenly backed down and are happy to return our money. Well, well.

However, we received a form that we have to fill out. The associated fee is $50—to get back the money they legitimately owe us.

Working with Heritage Auctions has been nothing short of outstanding. From start to finish, the process was smooth, professional, and transparent. The team is incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to walk me through every step, answering all my questions and ensuring I felt confident about consigning.

I sent a photo online of a framed vintage 3d oil on canvas of a sea scape. It was unsigned. I needed a value.
They sent me back an email simply put, they don't know. Forgive me, but aren't these art auction houses supposed to have ways to research these works even without an artist signature? It was very disappointing, almost embarrassing.
No artist signature, we have no idea how to help you. If it had an artist signature, I could do the research myself.
Don't even waste your time with this popcorn stand of a place.

HA is my go-to site for hard to find and quality art and collectibles. I have purchases shipped to me or have my agent pick them up in Dallas. Every time I call they are helpful and engaged in talking with me. My agent also says they the pick up process is easy and everyone is nice to work with.

Heritage Auctions has become my 'go to' location for art purchases. Not only do they offer an outstanding variety of top art by my favorite artists, their customer service is, by far, the best in the artworld. I've been buying from them for years and have only experienced professionalism and courtesy throughout every transaction.

As a first time consignor I have found Heritage to be outstanding, with fantastic and responsive customer service, as well as complete transparency with regard to the auction process.

As the auction was held in the US, Heritage also arranged for me to drop off my consigned piece at their London office, where it was packaged, insured and shipped to the auction house in Texas at no expense to myself and entirely hassle free.

Finally, my settlement was paid directly into my account on the date I was given, with no issue or delay. I would absolutely use Heritage again in the future.

Updated: See below. This issue was eventually resolved but it really shouldn’t be this difficult. If you want to bid it is essential to establish the shipping charge beforehand. There seems to be no logic behind the shipping. Some items will ship at a reasonable ‘fixed price’ fee for total items won in a particular auction, others of similar size, weight etc SIX times that price.

Shipping has always been chaotic (see other reviews) but although customer service was always slow and muddled I never left bad reviews as I felt they were at least acting in good faith.
Latest purchase they slapped on a shipping fee of just under three times ( yes you read that correctly) the value of the item. Obviously I queried this and tried to enter into dialogue about alternatives. No response whatsoever, despite repeated attempts. Next I was sent a notification that the item had shipped! HA have never shipped before payment in the years I’ve been dealing with them, as is standard auction house practice. Obviously an attempt to lock in this truly extortionate ‘handling and shipping charge’.
Use at your peril.

I have extensive experience shipping high-value, fragile items and have dealt with many companies in this space — Heritage is one of the worst in terms of customer service. The simplest requests take days to get a reply, and anything more complex can drag on for more than a week.

In my case, I asked multiple straightforward questions about my purchase — including basic shipping details that any auction house should have on hand — and it still took close to a month to get all the answers. If something goes wrong with your item, I have no confidence they could resolve the issue in a timely manner.

Before bidding, I strongly encourage potential buyers to test their responsiveness: ask Heritage a simple delivery or item-related question. Then ask yourself — if they take this long to answer now, is this the type of service you want if there’s a real problem later?

Lazy people don’t actually help! I highly don’t recommend!!

I had a great experience selling some family coins. Cass at Heritage was upfront about fee structure and how best to maximize coin sales. I was very pleased with the amounts I earned and would recommend them and use them again in the future. The process takes time so if you need a quick sale this isn’t going to be your best option.
