Received message reply: I did not receive any notification from you requesting more information about me. Freedom of speech is protected, yet you forcibly deleted my review of the seller and forcibly closed my case. I requested you to reiterate this matter, but no one responded… I have a simple question: a modern, distressed counterfeit item, with such a high reserve price from the seller, how could your "experts" allow it to be listed for auction? Do you rigorously review the information of items listed for auction? Please value the rights of buyers, carefully review the content of the dispute between the buyer and seller, and give the buyer a reasonable and fair resolution! I reiterate my request for a refund! Fees are outrageous both buying and shipping.

Compendium Auction House has a very aggressive aproach to their clients. At first instance they are threatening to charge your credit card without permission. They are not willing to solve a dispute in a realistic way. Because of this LiveAuctioneers blocks my access to my personal data untill Compendium allows it to be released. So I am depending on the approval of Compendium to be able to access my own personal data. This looks like blackmail.
Compendium has replied on my review. A few things: Without any cause Compendium threatened to use my creditcard. I have mailed them that I am against this. Secondly, I owe Compendium nothing. They straight away stated that they would resell the object. This makes any existing agreement of sale invalid. Third: Any action of blocking my account through a dispute is in that case purely revenge. My personal data is my property and nobody is allowed to keep my data hostage indefinite this way.

I've gotten items from RBFINEARTS Auction multiple times, the staff is very responsive, great service. The shipping company they use has fast shipping and great prices.

Based on my seller experience with RBFineArts, I cannot recommend them and would strongly advise anyone to find an alternative auction company. RBFineArts is a modest, family run online auction company and the best way to describe my experience is "they put their company's interest first and the customer's interest second". I signed their consignment agreement in May 2024, online auctions were held in June/July but I did not get paid until December 2024. Their consignment contract reads "all (payment) checks will be mailed to the consignor at least 30 days after the close of the auction". Even after waiting months, I had to file a claim against RBFineArts in Small Claims court to ensure payment. Secondly, their consignment agreement requires you to pay a fee of 5% of the reserve price if the item does not sell. Because I did not place a reserve, many of the items sold for a much lower value. I know that any auction is a gamble subject to whoever shows up on that day to bid. However, from my pre-auction conversations with RBFineArts, I was led me to believe at their buyer audience was robust, that reserves were not necessary and that my items should sell on their auction site for "thousands" of dollars. That did not happen!

I downloaded their app, and was able to bid remotely as I was watching football. The approval process was easy.

Dreadful experience. I bought art worth roughly $200 and they charged me nearly $500 to ship it, telling me they had to do Fedex with a signature. But the package was simply left outside my door, where anyone could have taken it. No one even rang the doorbell. I will never buy anything from them again, and would not recommend them to anyone else. They immediately charge storage fees, which also are whopping large ones. They seem more interested in making money than in ensuring a high quality, pleasant artistic experience.

The auction experience was fine. Decent online system. But the shipping was unacceptable. Slow compared to other companies and cost prohibitive. Cost more than $65 to send a 2 ounce package. Other online auctions I have bought through are closer to $15. I will try them again if they find a different solution for shipping.

Items were as described, shipping was well packed and prompt.

I bought a $500+ item for $40. I was looking for this item at the right price for years. Wow! Package was shipped directly to me by the auction house.

The shipping price was extremely high. The package weighed under two lbs. It was coming to NYC. It was sent FedEx ground. The charge was $69 without insurance. The cheapest quote for shipping with proper packing and insurance was $114. This was for four 19" x 25" sheets of paper.

Good communication. Product description excellent. Pictures excellent.
Payment shipping arrangements a bit confusing and could be streamlined. However the latter made up for by excellent follow-up emails. Overall would definitively deal with these folks again without hesitation.
