Interaction with the final claims rep…

Interaction with the final claims rep was very satisfactory. However, getting to her required a number of calls to other GuideOne reps, some of which were not answered. The contracted engineer by to inspect the possible source of the water leak that damaged the meeting house floor was excellent and thorough and while his findings did not support our claim, they did assist us in negotiating an agreement with the chimney contractor to return and do a proper job this time of sealing the space between the chimney and the roof without charging our meeting any additional expense.

No coverage for wind damage

We had wind damage from a low-level tornado at our church. Since there was no damage except for the very brief touchdown at the church, the damage fell under the description of wind damage rather than a F0 tornado, and as a result no reimbursement for the over $9,000 was made, due to no coverage for wind damage. We are a very small congregation, and are very disappointed and are wondering how we will pay for the repairs.

The length of time it took to decide a claim was detrimental to us.

With your claim, an independent adjuster was engaged to inspect the damage to your building. As is standard practice, if there are outstanding issues with respect to the original inspection and findings, an engineer is assigned to reinspect and confirm the damage and its cause. While the full process took roughly one month, you were advised early on, after the inspections were completed, that you were able to proceed with repairs. It was just unknown at that time if the damages would be covered as we needed to obtain the engineer's findings.
It was determined that the damage to your building was due to wear, tear, deterioration and improper installation. The damage was not as a result of a covered loss.
We understand your disappointment with the process and the outcome.

Did 2 claims

Did 2 claims , hotel and bus and they diverted the hotel claim payed only the bus , called to clarify and they don’t know

Work more closely with the insured when the adjusters are reviewing the claim.

GuideOne handled our claim in a very professional manner as well as the representative (Kylee) who contacted us throughout the whole process. We appreciate how the claim was completed in a timely manner also.
The Church Board members were very disappointed with the "depreciation" percentage regarding the equipment as it was only installed 15 months prior to the burglary. We would appreciate it if we could renegotiate this will your company and reconsider lowering the percentage.

Easy to compete process.

Kaylee Feldar, Insurance Adjuster was extremely helpful during this claim. She reached out in the beginning to advise action being taken and through the entire review. Upon completion, she advised the review was complete and our check would be forwarded in a couple of days.

Our Church Insurance Claim

Our Church filed a claim and the process went extremely well. GuideOne was there to answer any questions we had from the opening of the claim until the closing of our claim. We had no problem contacting personnel at the claims office. We are VERY pleased with the experience we had with GuideOne and I would definitely refer them to others.

Delays in Response Time

Our filed adjuster was let go from the company and we were not informed. Our in house adjuster did not get back to us in a timely manner which caused delays in our repair work.
