Promised refund of deposit not honoured
Grantham Caravans buy with confidence. We promise to keep you updated on any potential changes that may occur between order take and planned despatch. We will be in touch with you regularly, just to keep you updated with the progress of your order. In my case these words meant nothing. This is indeed my worst experience it has been exasperating and both tiresome dealing with these people to say the least. You would expect that when a renowned company in this case Grantham’s makes mistakes that they would endeavour to pacify that customer and make apologies and do their utmost to put things right as soon as possible in a reasonable time frame. Unfortunately this has not been the case in respect of refunding my deposit of £1000.00
To come straight to the point the Sales manager telephoned me on Saturday 20th June 2026 to inform me that he had spoken to the general manager and that Grantham’s would be reimbursing me my deposit of £1000.00. This was after I refused to take a new caravan that was well below the standard one would expect which I will not elaborate on at this time. It was a short conversation as I was awaiting a call from the Ambulance service.
To date 2 weeks 3 days later the money has not been credited to my bank account. I have telephoned promises were made emails sent not answered during all this time. I asked to speak to the General Manager and I also asked to speak to someone in accounts the reply I got it’s not possible to speak with them. I have during this episode stated that I wanted to sort this out amicably unfortunately this has not happened so I am going to enlighten you to events leading up to this point in time.
On Sunday 17 May 2026 we went to Grantham Caravans to look at the new 2026 Coachman VIP 565, they had one on display after looking at it we went to see the sales people and spoke to a salesman we discussed the price and my trade-in. The easiest sale he ever made I gave him a deposit of £1000.00 which was paid from my bank account the following day. We were informed it would take roughly three weeks to get it ready. They had problems with the shelves in the caravan being buckled I made several telephone calls and emails and eventually we got a date to pick up the new Coachman VIP nearly five weeks later. We were supposed to have a video about the handover two days prior to the collection of the caravan this never happened. We had emptied our existing caravan I had the final payment sorted and all the insurance for the new caravan in place. So on the allotted day 18th June 2026 we were obviously excited that at last we would collect our new caravan. We checked the new caravan over and were thoroughly disappointed with the things we found that had not been done and also the condition of the new caravan which we refused to accept. It had also only been valeted that morning. To add insult to the situation they done a quick 7 point damp test on the caravan I was trading in a coachman Pastiche 2018 test with readings of 18 to 27% and gave me a Quote of over £700 to rectify it and a quote of £516 to repair a small dent in the side panel. This I can only guess was to try and reduce the trade in price I had been originally been offered. Pity more time was not spent on making the new caravan I was buying was fit for purpose.
So what a complete waste of time we had to put all the things back into our caravan and rearrange my caravan insurance all the trouble and tribulations they will never understand and we never received an apology for all the inconvenience and cost in wasted time and money.
I have since had our 2018 Coachman Pastiches fully service by a NCC approved Engineer doing a through 40 point damp test the highest reading was 7%. Draw your own conclusions.
I did not particually want to write this review but as i was getting nowhere asking about my refund which has still not happened i thought somebody might take notice Perhaps someone in the organisation could call me and give me a good reason why this has not happened or honour your word and pay me then we can both have closure.

Caravan door bin
We asked which bin would fit our caravan door they advised us on which one, we ordered it and it was dispatched, we were given the 7/7 for delivery it arrived on the 4/7, I fitted it to the door it was a perfect fit. I cannot recommend Granthems enough as this is not the first time ive use them. Brilliant company.

Disappointed with the product I received it was too small more like a child’s camping set of a table and six chairs. I want to return it but email address to contact not valid so emailed different address but not received reply very upset customer☹️👎☹️👎

We ordered our Brunner Air Conditioner on a Wednesday hoping to get it by Saturday and we had it delivered on Thursday.

No communication
Placed order online found it a straight forward process.
Placed on a Thursday got acknowledgment of order Friday never heard anything till Tuesday that order was dispatched no tracking or indication of delivery day then for it to turn up when we were out! Ring doorbell saved the day driver waited for us to return! Poor/no communication about delivery times
Ordering process was ok
Ordering process was ok, the main problem was I didn’t get any tracking information. I called a couple of times to check on tracking but didn’t get any meaningful information. On the day it was delivered I called to check tracking again and was told I would get a call back but didn’t get one. Anyway I noticed a large box out in the open in full view at the house over the road, the courier just left it there, I don’t know how long it was there and could easily have been stolen. It’s a heavy box on a pallet and I don’t have a pallet truck so it was difficult to move it, the box shipping weight was 46kg + the pallet.
Not sure why it was delivered to the wrong address and it’s a real shame Granthams couldn’t give me any tracking information. I will think twice when I need to order accessories in future.

Great Price, easy to use website
A small item required which was found easily on website and at the best price I could find. Delivered as advised, well packed and received in perfect condition.
Damp caravan and no suitable resolution
I am disappointed to be leaving this review as my experience initially started positively.
In January 2026 I purchased a brand new Bailey Alicanto Porto from Grantham Caravans. Since taking delivery, the caravan has only been used four times and has been returned on multiple occasions due to faults.
Most recently, following concerns regarding water ingress, Grantham’s carried out an inspection and confirmed water ingress through both rear windows, damp and physical water within the bedroom area, together with damp related damage requiring replacement parts.
The caravan is currently only a few months old, yet further investigation and repairs are required, subject to manufacturer authorisation and with a potentially extended wait time due to lack of parts.
I have formally requested to reject the caravan and the matter is now being investigated by the finance company. Grantham’s position is that they wish to proceed with warranty repairs and won’t accept my rejection request.
Whilst staff have generally been polite and previous faults were investigated, I am extremely disappointed that a caravan of this age and value has developed confirmed water ingress and damp-related damage after such limited use and that Grantham think it’s acceptable to offer a repair.
Sink top
Ordered a sink top for our camper and to cover an ikea sink, was warned it may have imperfections but it was fine and fits well.
Was informed of dispatch tracking with evri. Arrived without issue and was packed well. No issues with this order
check with a fine tooth comb before buying!
I would urge anyone considering buying from Grantham's to carry out a very thorough inspection before taking delivery.
I purchased a 23-plate Chausson and, during the approximately four months I owned it, it spent around three months back with the dealer due to serious electrical faults.
When I collected it, the vehicle was sitting in a mud pit. The driver's seatbelt was not attached, every wheel had a missing wheel nut, and the consumer fuse unit had burnt out.
It was eventually replaced with a 2026 Bailey Adamo 75-4DL, but unfortunately this vehicle has also suffered from numerous issues, including:
Earth cables not connected.
Fuses blowing due to wiring in the consumer unit not being properly secured, creating short circuits and a potential fire risk.
Severe squealing noises from above the cab.
Wind noise entering through the habitation roof area.
Bathroom wall panels coming away and visibly bubbling when pressed.
The centre section of the rear U-shaped lounge collapsed while being sat on, causing injury.
I emailed Grantham's to formally reject the vehicle but received no response. Today I was informed by email that, because I had notified the finance company, I now have to deal directly with them rather than Grantham's.
The entire experience has left me extremely disappointed and sickened.
That said, I would like to recognise Andy, one of the managers, who was excellent throughout and appeared to be the only person genuinely trying to help. He deserves credit for his professionalism and efforts.
Perfect order
I ordered from here, with the knowledge that the item I wanted was on back order. The item was delivered well within this window, completely un-remarkably. Perfect service for this order
