I ordered a hardback copy of a book (I collect this author) & when it arrived it was TINY. The writing inside wasn't legible for me as it was so small. This should have been disclosed to me in the ad - it wasn't! Thankfully it went through Amazon, so I got my refund. I will NEVER buy another book online through Goodwill again. I now go through another company (starts with a T) - my first order was for 8 books & they are beautiful! No shipping charges, either. Plus the cost per book was MUCH less than Goodwill charged. A bad experience with you led me to a GREAT company....THAT'S making lemonade out of a lemon!

While some local Goodwill organizations also sell books through Amazon and other platforms, those transactions are handled entirely on Amazon’s system. Amazon manages the item descriptions and customer support, and we cannot see the order, identify which Goodwill location fulfilled it, or step in to resolve issues.

They sent me a book that was supposed to arrive "like new" and it arrived without the dust jacket, cracked spine, bent corners, and severely damaged. I was told "Thank you for contacting us regarding the missing dust cover and the like new condition. We have reviewed the listing and determined this condition was not accurately reflected."
Customer service was no help and now I am stuck with a useless $65 damaged book that was misrepresented. They are scammers and liars. Do not trust this business.

In this case, we acknowledged the listing did not meet our standards and offered both a full return with refund or a partial refund to keep the item. While we regret that our resolution wasn't accepted, we remain committed to accurate listings and responsive customer service. Thousands of customers shop with us daily, and the vast majority of orders arrive exactly as described.
Goodwill, both locally and online, are among my favorite places to shop for books. Not only can you get great deals you can often find some hard-to-find books and it's just good for the environment to buy used items. The physical quality is always as good as described or better.
Literally my only complaint is that they is OSM Worldwide for shipping. It's a combination shipping method similar to FedEx Smart Post. The package is sent via OSM Worldwide, once it gets to the local destination area it is handed off to the post office.
I am not a fan of these services, they all add unnecessary time to shipping but I have never seen packages sit at the local delivery area for over a week. I ordered a book on 4/3/24, it was delivered 4/23/24. I have ordered from the UK and China with fast results.
It won't completely deter me from shopping online but I'll check my local Goodwill and faster shipping sites first.
I recently made a purchase of books on Salmon and Steelhead fishing in the Northwest and was very pleased with the quality of the books, the varied list of books to choose from as well as the prompt shipping! I will definitely use Goodwill Books in the future for more of my used book sourcing!

This is a great source for used texts at very reasonable prices, with some incredible bargains, too. Service is prompt, and the books are in as good shape as described or better.
Beat my expectations on quality of the used books 5 times in a row now. I received a brand new book sold as "acceptable" Excellent source for used books for excellent prices.
They’re price gouging hard. Over a 700% mark up on dvds? Scam.
