Very Pool Dinning Experience
3/19/2026 @5:20pm - Store 625 - 13145 Northwest Freeway, Houston, TX - Had a very pool dining experience 3 Adults and 1 Child the bill was 70.63. After sampling most of the food on the buffet I could the see that most of the food I had selected was off temperature, dry, and tasteless. I was disappointed to find my family was feeling the same way about the food. When we arrived, my family went to the rest rooms to wash hand, the restrooms were unclean. I communicated my experience to the manager at that time, He said he would take care of my concerns. After waiting awhile to give manager some time to correct thing. We sampled the food a second time and was experiencing some of the same issues including restroom was still nasty. I asked the manager for refund, he said he couldn't give me a refund. Went to speak to General Manager that was sitting in one of the overflow rooms, I explained the experience we were having. The first thing out of his mouth was, "You can't come in here", I ask him for a refund. He seemed upset and said to me "everything is up to Golden Correl standards". Asked General Manager again for refund, he asked me to leave and said he would call the Police. To keep the peace and to not to cause a commotion we left restaurant. There is one of the very best Golden Corral is at 12500 Gulf Fry, Houston, TX. It would be very beneficial for Golden Corral Corporation improve low-performing restaurants by have General Managers and Mangers work under Management at the above location. The Management team at the Gulf Fwy has it right, "it couldn't be better".

As a British person, I have been to USA 4 times and have eaten at the Golden Coral many times. Food is cheap and the choice is great. I have enjoyed every visit with the only problem is being too full when I leave. Just wish we had this restaurant in the UK.

I think their food has gone downhill in Manchester NH, plus my other food was getting cold waiting for someone to show up to get a cut of meet? Guy kept leaving the station and others would be waiting for meat. Part of the ice cream maker was not working and only had vanilla available. Service was not great but she came by a cpl times and it wasn't very busy. Cottage cheese didn't taste right, I think they changed vendors. No sunflower seeds for salad. BBQ chicken was dry but the fried chicken was good. Pot roast needed more seasoning. Some food just didn't look good...like it had been sitting there a while so I didn't try it. Soda station was confusing, I got to the counter to pay and they told us to grab our drinks first but there were no straws while now we were waiting on others to pay...do they have lots of straws stolen. They gave us straws with our silverware?? Like we want you to get your drinks first but you can't drink them till you pay? That's why we were paying first but they insisted... awkward to me is all, usually you pay and they get you a cup to fill. Every time I've been to west Palm Beach FL Golden corral was awesome probably 13 times... something different here in NH.

The Peoples Experience
Let me tell you about my experience on Monday at the Merrillville, IN location.
First, The sign states they open at 11 A.M. in which they finally opened at 11:30 A.M. causing customers to walk out.
Next, After paying for my lunch and starting to make my plate I was informed (Not by a employee but by a customer) that they were out of there savory and delicious pot roast. What a disappointment. 😞
Finally, The food wasn't even hot after 2 minutes of it being on my plate. I was eventually given a full refund after waiting 3 days. This location is usually solid so I don't know how they managed to drop the ball this time.
Reported to the health department
Went to the location in Schererville Indiana and got the
veteran discount. Not a lot of people there and the food was plentiful at 1pm. Went and fixed me a nice plate of
food and when I started eating I noticed that the food was all cold. The only things that were warm was the food they
just put out which means the food that was cold had been sitting there a while. When I tried the chicken it wasn’t crispy so I knew it had been sitting there a long time. I
picked up the thigh and bit into it just to see blood oozing out from the chicken. The chicken was so undercooked that I could see the uncooked parts under the blood. I
complained about this location before and heard nothing back from the manager nor any response from corporate.
I did talk to the lady who worked the cash register but didn’t get a refund as I don’t plan on going to this location again. I’m writing this review because they never
responded to my complaint. Since this food was so undercooked it became a health issue by serving customers
undercooked chicken. I then filed a complaint with the health department and provided them with the pictures I
took with my Golden Corral receipt still sitting on the table. The health department followed up with me but Golden Corral wasn’t to concerned about the customers
being fed undercooked food so I reported it. There is no way that the chicken should have made it's way to the customer for consumption. This place needs to be closed down and hopefully the Health Department will shut them down. Maybe they’ll respond to this review. Federal and
state governments requires them to cook the food at a certain temperature and check with a thermometer before
sitting it out for consumption. I wasted to much money at this place to get cold food and nearly raw chicken. This
shows that they really don’t care about our health and good service. Let’s see how they respond to this review and picture.
They don't trust there customers

I've NEVER had a restaurant ask to see my receipt then need to sign it .They would be better served to keep the food full and have butter/margarine for
baked potato (butter or margarine) and or vegetables.
If you have a complaint you should just contact Golden corral corporate they will get tired of the complaints and maybe lessen to the customers and change the management /ownership of this location.
The little short lady at 11am.
The little short lady that was in at 11am attended us was su rude yelling at me in Spanish. She directed towards me and I was speaking with my family about our seating. Feeling awkward already about personal matters and she raises her voice at me about what we want to drink. Us not knowing the system. She could have had more patience. And tried to help us get seated first before just worrying about the receipt. And then when we need refills she dramatically gets in our face repeatedly asking you good you good you good like yes. We responded . Then when we need her and try to get her attention she doesn’t even acknowledge cause she sitting and chatting with some coworkers. What golden coral can improve on is tell that little short lady have more patience try to help folks before yelling at them. Help them figure it out. If that’s what u get paid to do. If we didn’t ack prolly just wait till u catch someone attention. Especially the fact that I didn’t even pay for nothing I want the main person there and she just yelled in Spanish at me. So yeah I didn’t leave no tip and she was being sarcastic and loud with my mother who has nothing to do with nothing and was like “gracias por mi propina”. Girl bye ✌️ u didn’t do nun but annoy us and ruin our day. And on my son bday. I know this google review point less 😒 but ima let it be known she need to go.

I would give it less than one star if I could. We went there around 3:30 in the afternoon. There was not much food out and when ask we were told they were not going to be putting any more food out until the dinner hour. What food they did have out was luke warm at best. This is the restaurant in Gulfport, MS and I will not be going back.
COLD FOOD
We have ate there many times. Four to five times we have went to the Golden Corral in Effingham Il and the food was cold, not warm COLD. Sometimes it is really dirty and other times not to bad. I have complained to the assistant manager several times and nothing is ever fixed.

This Golden Corral is dirty and poor service
This Golden Corral is dirty and nobody speaks English. Makes it hard to order from the grill. They charge $5.99 for a large drink. Ridiculous!! Also, this Golden Corral allows a Mariachi band to come in and play between tables for tips. This gets in the way of the customer trying to get food!! Plus not everybody wants to hear this as they eat!! I believe this is also loitering, which the sign outside clearly states, No Loitering!! The food and the service use to be better, but it’s gone down hill. The food is definitely not worth the price!! The Golden Corrals in Harlingen and Brownsville are much cleaner, better service, servers are bilingual and no Mariachi bands!! I’m sure this Golden Corral makes plenty of revenue to allow it to be like this!! This comes down to poor ownership and management! Totally disappointing for the upper valley! I’m sure they could do better!
