Terribly disappointed in the Nancy's how to alter a block to your specific size. I took three days following her precise instructions on how to adjust the bust point, waistline etc. I did all of this and when I was done I constructed a toile from my own block. I try it on only to discover it was gapping at the armhole; huge amount of material over the chest and back area. I went back into the video and rechecked my numbers and they were correct. What went wrong? Could be the block was wrong. I ordered a print copy, not a digital copy. I still don't get it. It should of worked out.

From what you’ve described, it sounds like you’re still at the beginning of your pattern-fitting journey; and this is exactly where practice is an important part of the process.
Creating a personal block that fits your unique body is a skill. It doesn’t always come out perfectly on the first attempt. When a toile reveals issues such as gaping or excess fabric, the next step is to go back through the lessons, identify what caused the issue, make the necessary adjustment, and try again. That process is how you develop the eye and skill needed to achieve a precise fit.
Nancy’s masterclass gives you the method and the tools to work through these fitting challenges, and we’re absolutely here to help you along the way.
Please send us a few clear photos of your toile and block, and we’ll be happy to take a closer look and help you understand what may have happened.
Don’t give up on your block after the first attempt. Keep going - this is how the skill is built, and we’d love to help you get to the result you were aiming for.

Nancy is a great instructor
Nancy is a great instructor. I had hoped for even more indepth pattern making rules. Also, she is wonderful at drawing curves, I am not. So, I use the French curve alot. I certainly got my money's worth.

Easy to Understand and Amazing Customer Service
The courses are chock full of information and easy to follow. Customer service is great with everything! Have a question? email them, you will get an answer. I was even dumb enough to purchase a course twice by accident and customer service looked into immediately and refunded my money for the duplicate. They even offered me a discount on one of the other courses! My favorite thing about them is they are self-paced so with my busy schedule, I can get through them when I have time and not have to worry about deadlines. Love that!

Commercial Pattern Rescue LUCKY to find this course.
Hi I have recently signed up for the commercial pattern rescue course spotted it by chance. I have only just started watching it and learnt lots already. Just want to watch it through a few times and I have ordered some pattern cutting equipment and paper. Every time I make something I do not know if it will fit me until I have made it, I have been lucky so far started dressmaking again a year ago but all loose fitting garments. I have a large waist and small hip measurement. I have some commercial patterns I can try to adapt, I haven't used them yet as worried they would not fit! I think it's great that you get access to the videos for life as learning a new skill takes time and it is a hobby not a job for me. It is great to learn from an expert like Nancy she is very inspiring. Thank you GlowHigh.

Worth every penny PLUS SOME
I just finished the Garment surgeon’s alterations masterclass. It was fantastic! Ivor does a splendid job explaining things VERY clearly. No uhms and ahs. He adds some humour into the class too which makes the class very human and funny! There’s some unintentional misstakes but he turns it into educational moments instead of just editing that bit out. Will I ever work with super models? No way! But the lessons learnt are invaluable and I’m more confident in altering clothes to fit my 5.1ft stature. I have a pile of clothes that are too big waiting for me! 100% value for money plus some! Amazing!

Cost was right on for me

I was looking for a masterclass that…
I was looking for a masterclass that can teach how to sew garments with a professional touch and how to improve technical issues to create any garment like never done before and with GHF I got it. They left nothing behind and I really improve the result when I create garments. I am sewing for several years and they remind me little tricks that sometimes we forgot with the experience time. These tricks were very helpful and makes my creative life so much better.
