Efficient and friendly but getting spendy!
I was reminded in good time about my renewal and I have always found GJW easy to deal with when needed.
Why not 5 stars? I found the website especially difficult to use to effect my renewal this time atound and a premium uplift of some 30% was a bit hard to swallow!!

Used illegal drip pricing, if paying monthly.
I pay my policy monthly. The website announced the policy price, but failed to advise that paying monthly would cost extra, which was NOT included in the price quoted until the very end of the process. I believe that this is a form of illegal drip-pricing, for which the BSM has recently paid a large fine! The website was incredibly clunky and painful to use, constantly forcing you to re-enter Username, Password and Verification codes.

When you go online to renew your policy, it will provide two options. One to pay in full and another to pay monthly. Our monthly instalments are provided by a third party credit provider and so interest will be charged on these.
As you were previously not on an automatic renewal basis, this is why it displays both options so you can then choose how you wish to pay.
If you choose to pay in full, there are no additional costs to what was quoted. The additional costs are interest for paying monthly through a credit agreement and not for the insurance policy.
I hope this clarifies everything for you.

The 'edit' button online failed to allow me to change my telephone number from my home landline, to my mobile. I tried twice. Pretty annoying.

Returning Customer
I have been a returning customer of GJW Direct for a couple of years now and have had always found that they offer a competitive priced marine insurance quote. Their website is easy to navigate and fairly intuitive. The policy documents on line are not cumbersome to read or understand and because of this you can confidently make a decision when choosing the insurance cover.

A very expected experience
It was simply an experience I would expect. Nothing remarkable, aside from it taking 24 hours to resolve a simple renewal, no other feedback.
