Social Relay is a social media posting tool for small businesses. Write your post once and it goes out to your own website, your Facebook Page, your Instagram and your LinkedIn at the same time. One go, four places, about a minute. It is built for the people who know they should be posting and never quite get round to it — plumbers, sparkies, cafes, florists, salons, shops, real estate agents, consultants, anyone running a business where posting is the job that gets pushed to next week and then the week after that. Write one post and publish it to WordPress, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn together. Your photo is cut to the right shape for each place automatically, so the picture that looks right on Instagram also looks right on Facebook and on your website. You upload it once and never think about sizes again, and photos straight off an iPhone work fine. Cannot think what to say? Tell it a few words about the job you have just finished and it will write the post for you, short or long, right up to a full article for your website. Change whatever you like before it goes. Not ready to post today? Pick a date and time and it goes out on its own, whether or not you are anywhere near your phone. There is a library of free photographs to use, and it can make you an original picture to order when you have not got one of your own. It works on a phone, and it will sit on your home screen like an app. Why bother posting at all? You are not trying to go viral. You are trying to look open. Somebody looks a business up before they ring it — after a recommendation, after seeing the van, after a search — and what they find decides whether they call you or the next name down.
