I reported an individual with a profile…
I reported an individual with a profile that was completely composed of images from other social media sites. It was a false representation of the individual who had created it. Any conversation we had was in direct contradiction to the person from whom he had taken both photos and videos. He was NOT that person at all, although he used the same name. When I confonted him about this, he became abusive, rude, and defensive. He was clearly gaslighting/catfishing/scamming and I believe he is at the least - hurtful - and at the most - dangerous. The company dismissed my complaint as unwarranted, although I sent them websites and a report from a site that indicated his profile was false/fraudulent. They have done nothing. I suspect that he may be employed/paid to keep other clients emotioally engaged and still partipating, so as to continue income for the site. I ran several AI detection checks as well, and at least 80% of his responses came back as AI generated.
Addendum... This company says they will investigate, however, they do nothing but reply that they've found no violations - if they reviewed anything at all - and refused to investigate further unless I, myself, did the legwork. I had sent them the URLS for website that indicated this individual was fraudulent, as well as links to the sites belonging to the TRUE person whose name he had assumed. They said that was inadequate, and that I needed to provide for them screenshots of every bit of evidence. I've already wasted enough time and energy and money on this company. Im not going to police their "clients." That's THEIR job. Use them at your own risk, but be forewarned. Their entire site might just be a scam. Its FILLED with AI.
