Great experience from start to finish. I had the old carpet removed, the new carpet and underlay fitted and the door adjusted for what I consider to be a very reasonable price. The in store experience was good too as John was friendly and made sure I was well informed about what I'd ordered and the process. I will definitely use them again .

the fitters were here in good time quick and effectionet left everything clean and tidy i would recomned them

The team (Sean I believe initially) were knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely helpful, guiding me through the options without any pressure. The quality of the materials looks outstanding,
Communication has been clear and professional throughout, and I’ve felt completely supported at every step. It’s rare to find a company that makes the buying process feel this smooth and stress‑free.
The floor itself looks beautiful even before installation, and I’m genuinely excited to see it fitted. Matt thank you for your help today on putting together the finishing touches.

Two visits to Crossgates Floorstore outlet. First to scope a (new to me) product category, learn a little and suss out prices. John listened and steered, non salesy and gave space to look around and question him. Second visit to purchase LVT and look at carpet options. Again John gathered knowledge of requirements and advised appropriately. Straight talking but professional, never becoming too informal. Also had a phone call in between. Remebered my name on all interactions. Thanks John.

Called into the Crossgates store on the 27/2/26 for the first time. I was surprised at how tidy and well laid out the store was. It had a good selection of flooring- carpet, laminate, vinyl etc. and I noticed lots of roll ends in the doorway at great prices. I wasn’t sure of which floor I wanted so Staff let me take samples home with a small deposit. I returned the next day and collected the floor I had chosen which was a good price! The staff were super helpful and very welcoming but the store seemed quiet. Come on people visit the store - it’s great to have such a resource in the area! I’ll definitely be back!

John (Crossgate office) was fantastic.
He has an extra ordinary customer service delivery and I would recommend him to my friends.

We recently moved into a new build and chose to purchase all of our flooring at Floorstore Cross Gates including fitting. Our problem was with the fitting process, namely laying the hard floors, laminate and LVT, sadly we were left disappointed in the quality of fitting. Big and unsightly gaps were left behind the toilets where they hadn’t gone around the bases completely, posing a concern for water getting underneath. We were never told they wouldn’t be able to go behind these and would’ve changed our minds if so. General poor quality finish to the caulking, including irregular sizing and larger lumps / beads used to cover under gaps between flooring and around the bottom of the toilet. Scotia beading also has pin marks (small regular holes) where we were told because the paint was relatively new, beading wouldn’t stick and needed to be pinned into place. It wasn’t until the job was complete I was advised of this and told to “go round the house one Sunday and fill in the holes”. The mess that was left was ridiculous. Dust and laminate offcuts piled high in one room, not even bagged. We’re weren’t advised that offcuts and mess would be left for us to dispose of. When we asked for a price for disposal of this, as we had previously assumed it was included, we were quoted over £300! Upon the fitter arriving, he advised that our order was missing key items, such as the threshold strips and excess waste allowance for herringbone LVT. It felt as though there was little communication between the store and fitters.

I cannot fault the carpet fitters. They were skilled, professional and polite. They bagged excess carpet scraps and even commented to say that they were shocked by the mess left from the floor installation.

Our in store experience was positive, the sales rep was helpful and knowledgeable but sadly this was all overshadowed by the aforementioned experience. Sadly I wouldn’t recommend based on our experience.

First time i've been into Floorstore at Crossgates so wasn't sure what to expect. Pleasantly surprised with the welcome and advice and after arranging for my 3-bed semi to be measured today, i've just placed the order. John, the Store Manager was brilliant from start to finish, very friendly and knowledgeable whilst being professional at the same time. First class service and a fantastic deal on the carpet i've purchased which i couldn't find anywhere else. Would definitely recommend John and his Team and use again in the future.

I recently bought some flooring from the Crossgates store. John was really helpful offering suggestions of flooring available based on my requirements. Good choice and well laid out store. The fitter, Ronnie was brilliant. Kept me informed of his eta on the fitting day, was really professional and seemed to take pride in his work. I would have given 5 stars but there was a slight hiccup with the guy who came to check the room sizes but a conversation with John in the store sorted the issue. I’m pleased with my new flooring.

*edit* they have replied to my review- see below. This is not true and I have screenshots to prove. Floorstore this now makes my experience 10x worse, you cannot even apologise and take responsibility for your actions, shame on you as a company!

My experience here has been rubbish. I went into the store for a full new build property. I gave the measurements from the plan, and was told to call back when the kitchen was fitted. I did so and never heard back- they had taken my money at this point. Turns out they had the incorrect address. Then was told someone went to measure, but I noticed half the rooms were missing. Then the fitter came to measure added extra flooring. The store take a £100 fitting deposit which they keep in order to arrange the fitter. My fitter cancelled numerous times and only did a couple of rooms, and in the end I ended up having to get my own fitter. Asked for my £100 deposit but they haven’t been too keen to give me it back, saying the fitter did fit some carpet, and that I needed to speak to a manager, who is conveniently never there. I was left with concrete floor in a new build over Christmas. I want my £100 back.

Really disappointed. Visited Leeds store with the correct room measurements and was instructed that I would need 10 boxes of Karndean flooring to cover the area so I placed the order. When it was eventually ready to collect (over a week later than originally promised), I had to put the installation back due to other building work so it wasn't installed until the month after. The fitter discovered that i had 3 boxes over. I rang the store to arrange return . They said they did not accept returns outside 30 days because it was a special order. This was never mentioned at any time previously and the flooring is a very common product. They said they would contact Karndean to see if they would accept it back and let me know, but they didn't return my call. I rang repeatedly and was ignored. I rang from a different number but then was told the salesman was busy, he'd ring back. Still waiting! Eventually emailed via the website where the manager just said they don't accept returns outside 30 days even though THEY told me how much I needed and over-supplied me after i supplied the correct room measurements! He also said he would contact Karndean but never got back to me. I tried to return the over-supplied items just 6 weeks after receiving them. Poor customer service. Won't go near them again.

On our 1st visit to the Floorstore in Crossgates we were given advice on the choices of laminate floor coverings and how to care for them. We took away a sample to check the colour out at home.
On our 2nd visit we purchased the laminate and two members of staff helped to carry the packs to the car.
We haven't put the laminate down yet but l am sure we have made the right choice with the help from the staff.

I bought and had fitted carpets from Floorstore at X Gates, Leeds for 4 rooms, landing and stairs. I had very good,helpful and knowledgeable advice in the showroom from John and 2 weeks later John and Steve came to lay the carpets. I couldn’t fault the workmanship it was perfect, really beautifully fitted.
I received an excellent,professional service from Floorstore plus a really competitive price. Wouldn’t hesitate to highly recommend them

I rate this store highly as John was very helpful when I was choosing a new carpet for my living room. He explained clearly the price which was reduced from original price, and even demonstrated the underlay under my chosen carpet. The carpet was fitted as promised on 1 May 2024 and I am really pleased with my new carpet.

Started well with attentive service but overall communication poor once full money had been paid over for the carpet . Appeared to be intent on getting your money and no real interest in the after service or when being fitted. Fitting traumatic with carpet brought on the day not fitting. Had to call to understand what was happening, fitter contradicted store on resolutions. Fitter blaming store, store blaming fitter! Finally resolved and not one phone call from the store to establish if all went well in the end. Will not be using again
