Went to the one in Shoreditch and it was really good! I wish they had wineglasses though.

Was at the Flatiron in Newcastle upon Tyne yesterday for the first time. Fabulous location on Grey Street, light and airy, with big windows for people watching. The food was first class - absolutely delicious steak seasoned and cooked to perfection - and a reasonable selection of sides, especially the aubergine bake, although I would have preferred chunky twice cooked chips rather than the flimsy fries provided. Novel idea to offer a 'free' ice cream at the end of the meal, and very nice it was too! Only a few small criticisms: no phone number for contact, which was a problem as we couldn't find the restaurant and it would have been handy to be able to ring for directions. Also the service was hit and miss - a lot of staff hanging around talking amongst themselves but not being particularly attentive to us, so we had a long wait to order food, and when no one came with the bill we eventually had to get up and go to the till ourselves - not ideal for a supposedly 'high end' venue. Definitely worth a visit tho!

Not keen on the shared toilets wirh men, made me jump seeing a man when I looked in the mirror.
Waitresstold me she has been in tbe toilet and had seen men weeing but leaving the door open! And they must splash all over the seat. Disgusting. We should not be sharinf toilets witj men.

Amazing food and the steak was delicious however the service wasn’t great. We did not get asked how our meal was and an additional service charge and donation charge was added to our bill, which didn’t feel deserved. Other than that, the meal was lovely.

Was at the Flat iron in Leeds. Firstly there were many empty tables but stuck us on a table we didn’t want, asked to be changed but was ignored. The food was good as always but we then asked for the service charge to be removed from the bill and everything changed. The waiters attitude completely changed. After a few words we paid the bill then proceeded to leave whereupon the same waiter then asked if we had paid, then asked us to provide the receipt. He then asked to see the bank app on our phone. Stating that he would have to pay the difference if it was incorrect. Against our better judgment we showed him but still he wasn’t satisfied, he called over his manager who simply said it was a till issue and we could leave. We were both completely flabbergasted, angry and also disappointed. As well as that the entire restaurant was looking at us as though we were criminals. My partner sent an email complaining about our treatment and has been fobbed off with them saying the waiter was worried we had been over charged. Absolutely disgusting. We go to flat iron a lot but mostly in Manchester, we have been to the one in Leeds twice but will never go back and would advise anyone else to avoid it like the plague. Not even an apology

Didn’t liked at all the fact that waiter selected himself to add 15 £ of tip at the moment to pay.I only saw it when out of the restaurant. Restaurant is too noisy. Meat is not so good, it’s far better cooked in belgium or France. I do not recommand at all this restaurant chain except i you want to be screwed. Took a aperol at 9£, i received litteraly a thimble.

I visited the Waterloo branch a few weeks ago. Everything went well and had visited several other branches, so I knew what to expect. However, about a week later I came across my receipt and noticed I was charged £4.50 x2 for optional donation and I had not been informed of this before payment. I don’t have a problem with paying service charge but for any thing extra, I should have been informed so not very pleased about this. Make sure you check your bill before payment!

Food poisoning. Beware.

I have been going to Manchester's flat iron location for a year now. I have noticed a VERY steep decline in quality. Originally the cut from the shoulder was decent when cooked anyway.

However, the last few times the steak has been sinewy and incredibly chewy, a good 2 mins per piece.

My latest visit had me violently ill just a few hours after eating.

I'm sad to say it's not just the money saving tactics, it's now the overall food quality and hygiene.

If you are thinking of going, you should beware of the above and perhaps find another restaurant.

I was expecting service at Flat Iron to be fast but it took the waiters 15 minutes to bring menus after we were seated. This was very disappointing.

I waited ages for the staff to comes give us menus, then waiting ages for our steaks to arrive. I heard from others that the service was quick, so was expecting our food to come quickly and the staff won’t quick, however, this was not the case.

I recently attended a birthday celebration at The Convent Garden branch. The service and the food was superb, it was very busy so it felt a little bit rushed. Will definitely return when not at peak service.

My husband and I recently visited your London Bridge establishment, where the culinary offerings, most notably the bone marrow mash, were truly exceptional. However, the experience was somewhat marred by a wait exceeding an hour, compounded by a lack of guest seating during the interim.

Food was spot on , what I didn't like was getting duped on the bill as yes the service charge is 12.5% and it states on the menu that it's on the bill.

What annoyed me was the 10p optional charge per steak is automatically put on the bill when it shouldn't be as it's optional when questioned the waiter said it states this on the menu I showed him this and he had no answer, basically every person gets charged 10p and most don't even think about it. It's not the cost it's the principle of them just charging you it's a disgrace imo I wonder if it even goes to charity. I thought it was a 1 off but they have done it again on Saturday.

Visited last Sunday Flat Iron Waterloo for a pre theatre meal. Everything was handled seamlessly, staff was aware of our limited timeline, but we weren't rushed and could enjoy a wonderful meal.

A little treat on the house for our aniversary was a nice touch and very much appreciated.

What a great place to have a steak absolutely amazing food and reasonably priced for London

We arrived 10 minutes early and was seated straight away which we were happy with, we hadn’t removed our coats when we were asked what we would like to order. We were given a few minutes to look at the menu the server came back took the order and within lass then 10 minutes we has steak on the table. Seems like everything might have been pre-cooked to a certain standard and re-warmed when the kitchen received the order. Total experience time was 23 minutes from the time we were seated to the time we received our bill.
