I found an Audi E-Tron for sale on Fish Motors’ website that was the exact specification I had been searching for. I contacted them and spoke with Ryan to get more details. It was clear from the photos that a few parts were missing, so I made an initial offer £600 below the asking price. Ryan declined. A few days later, I increased my offer to £300 under asking, which was again rejected. Fair enough, they’re entitled to refuse offers.

What really disappointed me though, wasn’t the refusal, but what came next. After another two weeks of searching and still not finding another car with the same spec, I decided to bite the bullet and offer the full asking price. That’s when the experience took a sharp turn.

Ryan asked how we intended to pay, and once I said we had our own finance arranged, he suddenly added a £399 admin fee, something that had never been mentioned in any of our previous conversations. This felt like nothing more than a punishment for not using their in-house finance.

Trying to be reasonable, I had my finance provider contact Fish Motors directly. They confirmed they weren’t charging Fish any fees, yet Fish Motors still refused to budge on the £399 charge. So, despite being ready to pay the full asking price, a deal wasn’t made.

To make matters worse, I watched the same car sit unsold on their site for just 1 week before they dropped the price by £800. That speaks volumes. If they were willing to cut £800 off the price later, it’s hard not to see their refusal to deal with me, a serious buyer, as stubborn and unprofessional. It leaves you wondering whether they genuinely want to sell cars or just push their finance products.

In the end, I bought a better car from a different dealer who was transparent, respectful, open to negotiation, and didn’t tack on shady, last-minute fees.

Avoid Fish Motors. In my experience, they’re inflexible, lack transparency, and make the buying process unnecessarily difficult. If you’re looking for honest, straightforward service - look elsewhere.

I purchased a Peugeot 2008 from here in 2023 and within 3 weeks the clutch had gone. A few weeks after that the dpf needed completely replacing (not cleaning) and 2 months after the dpf replacement it was the serpentine belt plus 2 further visits to a mechanic. All in all there were £4700 worth of repairs needed doing in the first 5 months of purchasing and when I spoke to the garage after the clutch I was told it was wear and tear so nothing they could do. I later found out through a main dealership who took a good look at it that it had clearly been in an accident and badly repaired but this never came up on checks so clearly was unreported. Avoid these people at all costs.

Second time using Fish Motors, great customer service and made the process easy and straightforward. Would definitely use again.

Superb service and after-sales support. Found a small crack in windscreen a couple of days after buying car. They sent someone round to fix for free, no questions asked, then checked after to make sure I was happy with the job. Happy customer

I’ve noticed a couple of bad reviews including one in May 2025. We bought a Mini Countryman diesel Cooper in 2024 from them and it’s been a nightmare. On collection we found it had no engine oil despite having been told it had an oil change, the engine malfunction light came on within 2 days of receipt, the car then spent two weeks in their care but within a further 2 days after collection the light was back on. Then it went to a so called expert under warranty that determined it was the exhaust gas valve which they replaced. This lasted a little over 3 months when the car literally blew up because the true cause of the problem was that the DPF was blocked. We eventually replaced the blocked filter & the EGV costing more than £1500 of our own money. Do not waste your time and money with these charlatans, when confronted with my account of these issues I was told these are the vagaries of buying 2nd hand cars; more like buying from Fish Motors.
Trust you find this beneficial and prevent others from our year long ordeal.

Do not buy a car from fish motors.you have been warned.bunch of cowboys running that show!!and more importantly there cars are faulty aswell .engine management light problems after a couple of days, then they are not interested in helping sort the problem correctly,then after getting the finance company involved.they soon backed tracked and took the car back and rewound the finance,and after the car was handed back they even had the cheek to try and black mail me ,buy saying they wouldn’t rewind the deal if I didn’t sign a piece of paper saying I would have to keep my mouth shut about the whole ordeal!!! Stay well clear!

After purchasing car from this dealer there was constant issue with transmission, which they were trying to fix and for about a year the car was coming in and out of various garages without success in fixing it. Then coning to an year close after purchasing dealer turn around saying they won't cover cost for this to be fixed as the fault keeps reoccurring. This dealer sells faulty cars and doesn't feel reliable to get this fixed or exchange it. Don't trust this dealer as you will end up with expensive bill to get car fixed to roadworthy state

Following on from my review a week ago, I’ve now had a new battery fitted by Fish Motors due to problems with the previous one. So far so good. The car is starting up and no issues with anything at the moment. Drives beautifully. I was told by Chris to bring the car in on Thursday morning and leave it with them for an hour. The battery had already been ordered. Just needed replacing. Had a chinwag with the owner (Mr. Fish). Seemed like a real genuine bloke. Apologised about the situation but said don’t worry, it’ll get sorted. Battery was duly replaced and my keys handed back to me. No charge because it was still under warranty (3 months). The whole experience was very stress free and i felt very pleased. Should you want to buy a used car, you need to check these people out. You won’t go far wrong.
